Chapter 7: Ancient mirror

A gathering spirit pearl, as the name suggests, is a Magical Artifact that can gather Spiritual Qi.

Of course, it's not to say that there are no High Grade gathering spirit pearls; there are also Magic Treasure-Rank gathering spirit pearls.

It's just that the one in front of him is of the lowest Rank, which is normal to think about; how good of a Magical Artifact could a Cultivator at the Qi Refinement Third Layer afford!

Even this newly entered gathering spirit pearl would be worth at least twenty Low-Grade Spirit Stones in the market.

Chen Yunhao himself couldn't afford it anyway; the School only gave him five or six Low-Grade Spirit Stones every month, no more, which wasn't even enough for his Cultivation.

Fortunately, the School's Alchemy was still quite good, and they gave him a lot of Qi Replenishing Pills every month, but compared to richer Schools, this amount was not enough.

The reason was that Tianzhen Sect was too poor; with so few Disciples, they were almost unable to support them.

gathering spirit pearls of this Rank were only favored by rootless Cultivators in the Qi Refinement Stage.

As is well known, Spirit Stones have two uses: one is to assist in Cultivation, and the second is to serve as currency for transactions in the Cultivation World.

Those Loose Cultivators with low cultivation, who have no School and are short on Spirit Stones, usually Cultivate in places where Spiritual Qi is scarce, so the gathering spirit pearl is their first choice.

Of course, to be honest, although Chen Yunhao also had a School, his pockets were as clean as his face!

He couldn't use this gathering spirit pearl because its Rank was too low, and the Spiritual Qi it gathered wouldn't have much effect on him.

If it were a High Grade Magical Artifact gathering spirit pearl, he could use it until Foundation Establishment.

Chen Yunhao played with the gathering spirit pearl for a bit, then casually put it aside; it would be better to exchange this thing for Spirit Stones if he had the Opportunity to go to the market.

Also, the Rank of this Storage Pouch was too low; at most, it could only sell for fifteen Low-Grade Spirit Stones, so he would deal with it together if he had the Opportunity.

Of course, this Opportunity would have to wait until his Senior Brother or second Senior Brother went down the mountain and took him along.

The few Spirit Stones in the Storage Pouch were naturally put into his own Storage Pouch; these were spoils of war.

What remained was the Jade Slip, which he placed against his forehead to examine.

The Jade Slip recorded a Cultivation Technique called Water Control Art.

This was for Cultivators with a Water Spiritual Root to Cultivate, so it was useless to Chen Yunhao.

Moreover, the Water Control Art Cultivation Technique was simple and far inferior to their School's Fire God Art; presumably, its Rank was not high.

Cultivation Techniques could also be exchanged for Spirit Stones in the market; this was his personal spoil of war, so he didn't need to hand it over to the School and could decide entirely on his own.

After dealing with these spoils of war, he remembered the ancient mirror he had inadvertently bought.

He took out the ancient mirror from his Storage Pouch and examined it carefully.

The ancient mirror's surface was only the size of a human face and was polished very brightly, reflecting even the fine hairs on his face clearly.

The back of the ancient mirror had patterns that looked like both images and characters, arranged in a certain order.

Staring at these patterns for a long time, it seemed as if they came alive, and a rotating Yin and Yang diagram appeared before his eyes, making Chen Yunhao feel a bit dizzy for a moment.

Chen Yunhao gently shook his head, looking at the ancient mirror in his hand with some surprise.

There was a handle at the bottom of the ancient mirror, making it look like a fan.

This shape was very common, not much different from the ancient mirrors used by ordinary Mortal women.

It was just a bit more ancient in style, considered by Mortals to be from a previous dynasty.

Now, in Chen Yunhao's hand, it was like an ordinary Mortal object, without the slightest fluctuation of Spiritual Qi.

However, Chen Yunhao had first discovered it when there was a Spiritual Qi fluctuation; he absolutely would not have misjudged that.

Just now, when he stared at the patterns on the back of the mirror, the rotating Yin and Yang diagram in his eyes was definitely not an illusion.

So, this ancient mirror was at least not an ordinary item, but it was not a Magical Artifact either.

“Could it be a Magic Treasure?”

Chen Yunhao secretly speculated.

Chen Yunhao had never seen a Magic Treasure; even his Master used a High Grade Magical Artifact.

It was said that the Sect Leader had a Magic Treasure, which was the School's treasure, and very few people had seen it.

Chen Yunhao released his Divine Sense and scanned it; under his Divine Sense, this ancient mirror still had no Spiritual Qi fluctuations.

Chen Yunhao pondered for a moment, then extended his finger, forced out a drop of vital blood, and let it fall onto the ancient mirror, then quickly cast some hand seals.

This was the most common method of refining Magic Treasures in the Cultivation World; after a series of operations, the ancient mirror in front of him remained lifeless, without any change.

Chen Yunhao frowned; his strength was limited, and this was the only refining method he knew. If it couldn't be refined, it could only mean that this treasure's Rank was too high.

At least, it was not something he could refine with his current strength.

But if he couldn't refine it, this thing was a tasteless chicken rib in his hand, flavorless to eat, and a pity to discard.

Chen Yunhao didn't want to give up; every treasure would be beneficial to his future Cultivation.

Especially treasures whose origins he couldn't discern; they might be an Opportunity for his entire life's Cultivation.

He picked up the ancient mirror again and tried to input his True Qi into it.

For Magical Artifacts or Magic Treasures, if they couldn't be refined for one's own use, no matter how much True Qi was input, it would be futile; it would only make the treasure's Spiritual Qi fluctuations greater.

As Chen Yunhao's Spiritual Qi began to flow from his palm, a huge suction force came from the ancient mirror, firmly sticking to his palm.

And the True Qi in his body surged out as if it were free, completely beyond his control.

In just a short while, half of the True Qi in his body was absorbed.

Chen Yunhao immediately panicked; he had never experienced such a situation, and instinctively waved his hand repeatedly, but it was useless.

The ancient mirror seemed to have grown on his hand, no matter how much force he used, it remained firmly stuck.

With seventy percent of his True Qi absorbed, Chen Yunhao was truly panicked; if it didn't stop, he would be drained dry.

Chen Yunhao gritted his teeth, and with his other empty hand, he abruptly pointed in the air, forcefully cutting off the circulation in his Meridians.

This method of forcibly interrupting the circulation of True Qi in the body seemed simple, but it had significant after-effects.

It would not only injure the Meridians but also the internal organs.

However, after weighing the pros and cons, it was better than having his True Qi drained and his Realm dropping!

Pfft...

A mouthful of clotted blood spurted out, and Chen Yunhao's body swayed twice, but fortunately, the ancient mirror fell from his palm.

Chen Yunhao was still shaken, breathing heavily, slowly regulating the chaotic True Qi in his body.

Without ten days to half a month of regulation, there was no way he would recover as before.

After an hour of regulation, the True Qi in his body no longer ran wild, but the lost True Qi could not be replenished immediately.

Chen Yunhao stared at the ancient mirror on the ground with some surprise, feeling both lingering fear and a bit of excitement.

The excitement was that this ancient mirror was definitely not an ordinary Mortal object; it was very likely something like a Magic Treasure.

The lingering fear was that he had been too reckless; if his True Qi had truly been drained and his Realm had dropped, he wouldn't have been able to recover for a year or two.
