Chapter 8: uninvited guest

Appearing before Su Rui was a ghostly girl, head bowed, emitting a tangible black aura, holding a sharp kitchen knife for chopping vegetables, with tentacles extending from the black aura on her body.

It's worth mentioning that those tentacles emerged from a pot made of black aura, floating beside the girl. Inside the pot, it seemed a pile of human limbs, such as eyes and fingers, were stewing.

"It looks like you've killed quite a few people. Don't you plan to explain?"

Su Rui glanced at the wailing, walnut-sized ghostly human heads in the pot and knew that this ghostly girl had killed many people.

But the other party didn't react; she just looked at Su Rui, gently raised the kitchen knife made of black aura in her hand, and simultaneously, tentacles from the pot beside her extended and surrounded Su Rui.

"You all deserve to die, all of you, go to hell!"

The ghostly girl's hysterical scream made Su Rui frown uncomfortably. After sidestepping to dodge the blade in the ghostly girl's hand, which appeared almost instantly before him, he swung the longsword in his hand, burning with golden flames.

"Although you probably did these things because you suffered a great injustice, I am going to eliminate you."

After speaking, without giving the ghostly girl any more time to struggle, Su Rui directly plunged the sword blade in his hand into the pot. Golden flames spread from the sword, quickly engulfing the entire pot.

The spirits inside wailed and struggled under the burning flames, turning into ashes, and in the end, they seemed to show expressions of relief.

Su Rui didn't pay attention. The ghostly girl beside him, after he thrust the blade, seemed to feel the same pain as the pierced pot, letting out a painful wail.

But she also reacted, swinging the blade in her hand at Su Rui, who was close at hand.

"Bang~"

Accompanied by a dull thud, Su Rui was not cut by the sharp blade; instead, he punched the ghostly girl hard in the face, sending her flying.

"Phew~ You can still get up? If you were human, that punch just now would have been enough to shatter your skull."

Su Rui gripped the sword blade in his hand, absorbed the purified spiritual power, and then looked at the ghostly girl struggling to get up on the ground, taking steps towards her.

"Don't think about the past anymore. At least after you die, everything disappears. Have a good dream."

As he spoke, Su Rui gripped the hilt of the longsword with both hands. Golden flames ignited, and because of the spiritual power he was channeling, even his eyes burst with golden light.

Even when illuminated by such dazzling flames, the ghostly girl seemed not to give up. She didn't get up again; instead, she crouched on the ground, rushing towards Su Rui like a wild beast.

'Seeking death.'

Su Rui didn't speak but prepared to swing the blade in his hand. At this moment, perhaps there was still a slight chance to escape, but rushing towards him would only lead to death.

However, at the same time, Su Rui noticed that the ghostly girl's charging direction was slightly to his side and behind him. Moreover, the door behind him, which Shizuka Hiratsuka had been observing, opened again, accompanied by sounds of argument:

"Alright, Shizuka, I know about the existence of spirits, but I also have talismans. If there's really a problem, I might even be able to save that handsome guy you know~"

A cheerful and optimistic girl appeared at this inopportune moment. Su Rui didn't pay attention to the abruptly ceased conversation behind him. He held his breath, concentrated, and swung his blade.

Golden flames swept through the entire room. The ghostly girl ultimately failed to rush past Su Rui and was reduced to ashes by the flames, finally transforming into pure spiritual power that Su Rui absorbed.

"..." After absorbing the spiritual power, Su Rui, with his back to the two stunned women behind him, lowered his guard, held the longsword in his right hand, but did not extinguish the flames on it. Instead, he straightened up and turned to look behind him.

A voluptuous woman with short black hair that reached her chin stood beside Shizuka Hiratsuka. Their pulling motion hadn't stopped due to surprise. She stood rigidly, mouth agape, staring in astonishment as Su Rui turned his head and met her gaze.

'She's quite good-looking.'

Su Rui didn't act friendly just because she was good-looking; instead, he showed a scrutinizing expression, carefully examining this woman who had realized something was wrong, withdrawn her hand, and was cautiously watching him.

"You're the one who was watching me at the intersection just now. Since you know about the existence of spirits, aren't you afraid of death by suddenly coming in?"

Su Rui said, approaching the woman.

The other party instinctively retreated a few steps due to the golden-flamed sword in Su Rui's hand and his powerful oppressive presence, but she had to look up into Su Rui's eyes, breathing heavily in nervousness, her full chest rising and falling sharply with her breaths.

"Wait, Su Rui, she's my friend, the real estate friend I told you about before. I know what she did was wrong, so, for my sake, can you give her a chance to apologize?"

Shizuka Hiratsuka stepped forward anxiously, grabbing Su Rui's wrist, which held the sword. The woman next to her also nodded very sensibly:

"I apologize for disturbing you, Mr. Su Rui. I am Yukinoshita Haruno. For my offense, the Yukinoshita family is willing to offer compensation that will satisfy you. I hope you can forgive me."

Saying that, Yukinoshita Haruno bowed deeply to Su Rui, revealing her perfect figure, head bowed, appearing extremely humble.

"Get up. What kind of gift can you offer?"

Su Rui didn't lack any material gifts, but since this person dared to barge in knowing he was exorcising, she definitely had to apologize properly.

Although exorcism was relatively easy for Su Rui, for the vast majority of so-called Onmyoji here, it was a life-threatening job.

In other words, this woman was playing with his life.

Su Rui's cold words made Yukinoshita Haruno tremble slightly, and fine beads of sweat involuntarily appeared on her forehead and back. She had a premonition that the man in front of her would not relax because of her beauty. If she couldn't offer an apology that satisfied Su Rui, he would really take action.

Shizuka Hiratsuka nervously held Su Rui's wrist, looking into his eyes. Although she was worried about her friend, at this moment, she also knew she shouldn't say too much.

Su Rui looked at Shizuka Hiratsuka's worried eyes, leaned into her ear, and whispered, "...Don't be nervous."

He just intended to teach her a harsh lesson. If there was no satisfactory apology, at worst, he would beat her so badly she couldn't get out of bed for a month. Su Rui wasn't a particularly cruel person.
