Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Dead End?

Despair, unending despair.

Mu Xing curled up in the corner, as if his recently torn body had reassembled itself, hugging tightly to prevent separation.

There was no chance of winning; that thing not only possessed extraordinary strength and speed, but also "immortality."

Just as he managed to bite off a piece of flesh from the monster, the wound had already begun to heal before he could inflict a second injury.

What exactly was that thing? A zombie?

Such a hideous and ugly appearance, yet possessing an incredibly strong combat consciousness .

If it were just a zombie, Mu Xing felt he still had a chance.

But judging from the monster's performance, it was not only sensitive to its surroundings but also knew how to seek advantages and avoid harm.

The moment he was killed, Mu Xing even saw rationality in those terrifying eyes.

How could a monster have rationality?

In those horror movies, the reason protagonists could defeat powerful monsters was due to intellectual suppression, leveling the playing field through schemes.

But what if the male protagonist faced a monster with extreme Alienation of its body, powerful lethality, and self-awareness and wisdom? How could he win?

Mu Xing, amidst extreme pain and fearful memories, strangely calmed down.

After dying four times in a row, Mu Xing's fear of death had significantly lessened.

This allowed him to clear his mind slightly and ponder his current situation.

Although he possessed the ability to infinitely reset, he temporarily called this ability Time Reincarnation.

He didn't yet know if the world was reincarnating or if he himself was reincarnating, but in any case, as long as he died, he would return to the corridor, to the state before the door opened.

He didn't know where this ability came from, or if there were any side effects.

He had no choice but to rely on this special reincarnation ability to explore the possibility of survival.

Since a head-on confrontation was impossible, and hiding here was just waiting for death, the way out must be ahead.

He recalled that during his second death, he had tried to pass through the door of the changing room outside.

The distance was about thirty meters. At his speed, it would take five seconds to run across. If he used the corridor for a running start, he could compress this speed to four, or even three, seconds.

Before the monster discovered him, it seemed to be sleeping, or in a dormant state.

It would take two seconds for the monster to awaken. According to the monster's speed, it would only take two seconds to cover 30 meters and catch up to him.

This meant that from the monster waking up to its pursuit, he would have less than four seconds.

Theoretically, if he ran fast enough, he might have a chance to force his way through before the monster launched an attack.

However, a problem arose.

Although the changing room door was automatic, it was similar to the first door, having a recognition process and a delay.

This process would take at least two seconds.

In other words, no matter how fast he ran, it would still take him more than five seconds to pass through the door.

The monster would take at most four seconds from waking up to completing its pursuit and killing him.

This was already the most compressed time possible.

So, Mu Xing felt he needed to find a way to attract the monster's attention and delay it for at least two seconds, which might allow him to break through the door.

However, another problem arose.

And what after passing through the door?

Once the changing room door opened, it wouldn't close immediately. The monster would inevitably catch up to him again, leading to certain death.

Furthermore, he didn't know what was behind that changing room door.

Was there a path to life?

This might require him to attempt death several times.

As he was pondering,

The virtual projection lit up again.

This time, Mu Xing looked up and noticed the ceiling above his head.

He suddenly realized that the virtual projection didn't appear out of thin air; there was a special projector extending down from the ceiling.

There must be connecting pipes behind the projector.

However, there wasn't enough time this time; he didn't have time to explore the ceiling.

He forced himself to gather his Spirit, preparing to first test the situation behind the changing room door this time.

Mu Xing slightly bent his body, taking a starting stance about ten meters from the corridor door.

The moment the green light came on, he began to run.

Just as he reached the door,

With a whoosh, the door opened just in time.

He didn't slow down, continuing to accelerate towards the second door thirty meters away.

During his run, he pinpointed where the monster was sleeping: behind a lounge bench.

No wonder he hadn't seen where it woke up from several times.

The monster took two seconds to wake up.

The moment it awoke, it immediately sensed Mu Xing, the running living creature.

At this point, Mu Xing had already reached the changing room door. The door took about two seconds to identify him, and the green light came on.

"Open quickly!" he roared.

Just then,

The monster was already charging towards him, almost upon him.

He couldn't fight it head-on; he had to dodge.

After being killed several times, Mu Xing had already witnessed the monster's attack patterns.

It would typically attack the heart first, piercing it with a bone spike, and then continue to stab.

If he dodged, it would swing its bone spikes to slash.

So, Mu Xing first twisted his body to dodge the piercing attack, then bent down to dodge the slash.

All of this happened within two seconds.

At the same time,

The door behind him finally opened.

Mu Xing, without hesitation, executed a donkey roll, rolling directly out the door.

Doing so successfully avoided the monster's continuous slashes.

However,

After rolling out of the door, Mu Xing's expression turned incredibly grim.

A pungent smell of blood filled his nostrils, and his eyes were met with nothing but crimson.

He saw several corpses, and on those corpses, there were Alienation monsters. He didn't know if they were parasitizing or devouring these bodies.

The moment Mu Xing rolled in, he startled these monsters.

Gurgle...

These monsters made strange sounds.

Mu Xing haphazardly grabbed a small box from a nearby cabinet and threw it at the monsters.

The next second,

Two monsters in the room arrived almost simultaneously, including the one that had chased him from behind.

A total of three monsters surrounded him.

Puff, puff, puff...

Sharp bone spikes instantly turned him into a hornet's nest.

...

"Hoo..."

In the dim corridor, Mu Xing sat up again.

A dead end, it was completely a dead end.

At most, there was only one monster in the changing room, and he could still escape for a certain distance based on his experience.

But how to deal with the two monsters outside?

He had contemplated ten thousand methods before his death, but it was impossible to get through the encirclement of three monsters.

Forcing his way through wouldn't work, nor would outsmarting them.

The only possibility was... this path was simply a dead end.

When encountering a dead end, one should not stubbornly persist, because it is meaningless.

Only by seeking another path can one find the true way to survive.

He focused his attention on the projector on the ceiling.

He had estimated that it took about a minute from when he woke up until the door opened.

The virtual projection would appear ten seconds before the door opened.

During the welcome ceremony, a system error would occur.

The key was that after the last sentence ended, the system would automatically grant him CEC Company employee access.

This should be a correction program after the system error, to prevent personnel who wished to enter the spaceship from being blocked outside.

In other words, only after the system granted him functional access would the corridor door open.
