Chapter 1244: Looking for a breakthrough

“It feels like watching a movie!”

Jia An’s words pulled Chris back to reality.

Sure enough, he wasn't the only one who found this too absurd!

In fact, even on a Three-Dimensional battlefield, destroying so many warships would only leave them awestruck, not thinking it absurd.

But there were too many things here they simply couldn't comprehend; with every attack, they tried to find patterns they knew, but these attacks completely defied imagination.

The concepts of “light” and “body” were too abstract, just like the fiery giant structure in the distance, emitting dazzling light, its structure constantly changing like fire or water.

He truly wanted to get closer and see what it actually was.

But now there seemed to be no chance; it had been destroyed, and it was done by the warship beneath their feet.

Actually, Chris didn't necessarily know how it was done; he looked out from this perspective, but it was important to remember that even just considering its visible Three-Dimensional volume, this warship was larger than a planet, and who knew what horrors were hidden in its unknown volume.

How could a person standing on a planet see everything on the entire planet?

“It really is, a first-person movie from the perspective of a minor Soldier.” Chris suddenly felt life had lost its meaning.

He pulled his head back.

The other three looked at him strangely.

Chris thought they were the strange ones.

“Right now, we are prisoners; we should at least think of a way to leave!”

Jia An said, “Our heads can go out, our bodies can too. We can leave anytime!”

Chris shook his head.

“If we leave now, we really won’t be able to go back. This is seven dimensions! At least I still need to return to Human Civilization, back to Three-Dimensional.”

Daxi might still be waiting for him.

That greedy boss probably wouldn't let go of this cash cow; he wanted to keep him to carry on the family line.

Artificial humans, especially commodities, don't adhere to any lifespan limits, only expiration dates.

“What!?”

Jia An and the other two were momentarily dazed. She asked Chris how he knew.

Chris didn't mention his conversation with the Civilization creature; he just sneered and said, “Don't you feel uncomfortable?”

“It's so intense. We’ve been in six dimensions for a long time. Even if the place is different, it wouldn't be like this. This isn't something that a top-tier Civilization war can explain.”

In truth, for them, six dimensions and seven dimensions were truly indistinguishable.

The extra dimension was simply imperceptible.

Actually, a Three-Dimensional creature entering Four-Dimensional requires a long period of research and body modification to gradually find the Four-Dimensional.

This process takes at least thousands to tens of thousands of years.

Whether it was six dimensions or seven dimensions, for Three-Dimensional creatures, it was still far too excessive.

“Then we really can’t go back…”

Chris didn't expect his words to completely deflate the trio, who slumped to the ground.

These guys, tricked by Lu Li'an, were indeed unreliable. Being tricked at least proved they weren't that elite.

Actually, it made sense; these people were recruited from the civilian sector, a huge gap from regular Soldiers. Their willpower couldn't be said to be nonexistent, only that it was better if it were.

“Oh, right, where's Lu Li'an? Did she find something?”

The three remembered Lu Li'an at this moment and asked.

Chris shook his head.

“I don’t know. Perhaps she found something, or perhaps she touched something she shouldn't have and has already died!”

In any case, she vanished without a trace.

“How about we go look for her?” Jia An said.

Chris was surprised by her choice. Going to look now might lead to unknown dangers, and the other party wasn't completely useless either.

Actually, Chris also wanted to look, but he had just been distracted by the war outside, and also, he didn't want to search alone; he still needed to bring the three along.

His search target was not only Lu Li'an but also Little White.

“Should we split up?”

“It’s better to stick together.”

“Then which way should we look first?”

“This direction!”

The few of them slowly felt their way forward; it was still dark and vast here.

It felt like walking on a continent, with no end in sight.

Chris’s face was grim as his steps gradually quickened, eventually even breaking into a run.

The others also followed, their speed exceeding 10 kilometers per second.

This place was even bigger than they imagined, or rather, much bigger.

They ran at 10 kilometers per second for several minutes but still couldn't find an end.

Suddenly, Chris stopped.

“What’s wrong?”

Chris squatted down, fumbling for something on the ground.

It was actually some fragments of Quark Robots.

Quark Robots, as they had developed to this point, existed in conjunction with the human body's metabolic mechanisms; they themselves would die like cells and then be constantly replenished from the outside.

Ordinary people would purchase and inject new Quark Robots every 10 years.

Those in the military, however, did not need to, because their mechs had Quark Robot production units.

And the Quark Robots that died would have some of their “bodies” metabolized out of the body surface.

They were most likely absorbed by the mechs. Chris believed this place was easy to get lost in, so he deliberately scattered some along the way.

Sure enough, they had returned to where they started.

Lost?

Chris was certain he had been walking straight ahead, but this was seven dimensions, so he wasn't so sure anymore.

Facing such an unfamiliar environment, Chris was also unsure now. The only way he could think of to break the deadlock seemed to be one.

“I don’t think this will work; we might just keep going in circles here.”

“Might as well take a gamble!”

The three saw his body vaguely showing a tendency to expand.

That was a sign that the Sequence Lock was being opened.

This was indeed a good idea.

The three also opened their Sequence Locks, and four behemoths appeared in this space.
