Chapter 24 24. Big things are coming
Back on the boat, Dacus washed his hair and took a hot bath.
Looking at the cracked knuckles on his right hand, Darkus thought to himself, "I'm still a newbie after all. Look at the Haier Brothers next door. They were able to defeat the Slaanesh Demon at the age of sixteen, but I can't even beat a Knight Master. I still need to practice harder and experience more life-and-death battles."
He felt pain all over his body, and after confirming that Franais was not in danger of life, he ate something and went back to sleep.
The days that followed were simple. He enjoyed iron pot stews of goose and duck, and fried eggs. He rose early every day to exercise and spar with Ren, Dastan Cold Eyes, Edmund, and Kallion, learning different fighting techniques and styles. He had always thought that dual-blade fighting was idiotic, only for show, with no practical value, but after sparring, he realized otherwise.
He practiced archery at night. As an elf of Nagaryth descent, it made sense for him to know how to shoot, especially since he had the blessing of Morayg Heg. He didn't need to practice with a repeating crossbow; in Druzi society, every child could do it. A repeating crossbow was just that simple, so the bow was still more cost-effective.
They found an opportunity to plunder two villages near the island and learned that one of the knights was a strategic partner of Drucci. Daxus decided to take him back to experience the hospitality and superb skills of the people of Naggaroth.
After being chased by the Bretonnian navy for another day, the other side gave up when they found that they could not catch up.
The boat is packed, and the monsoon is coming! Time to go home!
If I had a regret, it would be not seeing Hepburn and her Lionheart Knights. If nothing unexpected happened, I probably wouldn't have the chance to see them again.
When they reached the island of Orbion, Dastan Lengyan told him that a mysterious island had suddenly appeared on the sea. With the exception of Franais, who lay paralyzed, everyone else came out to watch. The dark Pegasus were deployed, and the boats were ready, awaiting Daquus's command.
Facing the sudden great opportunity!
Dacus didn't want to stir up trouble, so he said he had no interest and just wanted to take a look. Sure enough, three hours later, the mysterious island that had suddenly appeared suddenly disappeared again, just like a mirage.
In the cabin, Franais lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. His sister had just changed his dressing. Ryan asked Dastan Cold Eyes for some paper and sketched a picture. Alyssa, who had just finished changing her dressing, leaned against Ryan and watched him paint.
Ryan glanced at her and asked, "What do you think of my painting?"
"That's great. Can you teach me?"
Upon hearing this, Ryan stopped writing and looked at her seriously. Franais, who was lying on the bed, also turned his head to look at her.
Ryan sighed and said, "Sister, I understand everything, but..." He said halfway and looked at his brother, which meant that I couldn't say the next sentence, so you, the eldest brother, had to say it.
Franais considered it for a moment and said seriously, "My dear sister, don't even think about it. It's impossible." Then he sighed and said, "Don't you feel that the master has been avoiding you? He is from the Hell's Disaster Family. He can't decide anything. He is destined to marry into a powerful family."
Ryan then said, "Sister, it's because your brothers are too weak. I'm sorry."
Alyssa didn’t say anything and walked out of the cabin with her head down.
"Why."
Franais said coldly, "It's better to stop her from thinking about it. Otherwise, there will only be tragedy for Black Blade. I always feel that what the adults said at dinner that night was actually meant for me."
On the sea, an imperial galleon was sailing against the wind.
This group of Imperial explorers set out from the Imperial Marienburg and headed for Lothern in Ulthuan. The current Phoenix King is Bel Hathor, not Finubar. He should still be tasting Bergmann beer in the Old World.
Due to legal reasons, Asur forbade them from landing, but still provided them with some supplies. The explorers were unwilling to return empty-handed, so they continued to follow the monsoon and sailed to the continent of Lustria, landing at Plunderer's Harbor.
They went deep into the jungles of Lustria, and after losing half of their men, they discovered a long-abandoned city. In the city, they found a large amount of gems, gold, and several inexplicable gold-inlaid stone slabs.
On their way back, a group of strange-looking creatures caught up with them and attacked them. With the advantage of their flintlock rifles, and after losing some men, they repelled the monsters' attack and even captured one.
After returning to Plunderer's Harbor, the local administrators and pirates offered to give them half of the treasure. Unwilling to part with their treasure, the explorers, after some perfunctory negotiations, took advantage of the opportunity to force their way out of the harbor and repel the pursuing pirates.
The ship sailed to Ulthuan, and after resupplying at Lothern, it began its journey north, towards Marienburg. They were almost home, and the treasures aboard were enough to provide them with food and clothing for the rest of their lives, and to bring them fame and fame.
That day, just after dawn, the ship was still sailing normally. Suddenly, the lookout on the mast spotted a black three-masted sailing ship appearing on the sea horizon.
What a coincidence, this black sailboat was the ship where Daquus was, and the lookout on the mast also discovered it.
Daxus was still sleeping when he heard rapid knocks on the door, which woke him up immediately. He picked up the crossbow beside him, turned on the safety and aimed it at the door.
There was another knock on the door, this time more urgent.
Darkus roared angrily, "Who the hell is that?"
A voice came from outside the door, "Excuse me, Master, it's me, Dastan. We spotted an Imperial galleon coming from the south!"
Upon hearing this, Dacus regained consciousness, put down his crossbow, rubbed his eyes, and said, "Catch up. I'll wear armor first."
The alarm bells on the ship sounded. Except for Franais who could not move, the rest of the Druzy were all in position. The canvas covering the Reaper crossbow was also torn off. They were ready for the moment, as their favorite part was about to begin.
Daxus dressed neatly, walked onto the deck, took over Dastan Lengyan's monocular and looked at it for a while. After looking through thirteen moves, he didn't understand anything and returned the telescope to him.
"What's going on now?"
Dastan Lengyan's face was filled with joy as he said with a smile, "Master! Look at the waterline of that ship. If I'm not mistaken, it should be a treasure ship!"
Upon hearing this, Dacus became excited. This wasn't some weird ghost ship or mysterious island. Who wouldn't want something that was given to them for free?
"Good fellow, it's better to use force than to work hard. Damn him!"
PS: Maybe later in the evening, MIXU's Egrím van Hoosman has updated, I'll go check it out
The name Alyssa is the Dreadlord of Krakarond in Total War, the novice battle of the Bronze Bull.
In the first chapter, the protagonist opened the door and stood outside the two swords, which expressed that they had no relationship before the protagonist came.
Everyone can understand them as a boss and an employee, there is no such disgusting plot as giving a girl away.
Drudge's social marriage is destined to be like that in "Wuthering Heights", but it will not be written so complicatedly, because this is a novel.
