Chapter 118: Is that all?

Just as Renye and the others hid in the bushes, three Sand Ninja ran over from a distance.

They slowed their pace as they approached.

"Captain, did you find anything?"

The leading Sand Ninja said in a deep voice, "I just heard some movement over here, but I might have misheard."

Renye, hidden in the bushes, gestured to Danzo and Koharu with his hand.

"There are only three of them. Take care of them quickly and don't make too much noise."

Both of them subconsciously nodded in response.

Renye gripped the hilt of his Tachi, and three black tomoe appeared in his eyes.

The moment the three Sand Ninja turned around, Renye burst out of the bushes, his sharp blade slicing through the air.

Danzo Shimura and Utatane Koharu followed, leaping out and throwing several kunai, aiming directly for the enemies' backs.

They had a clear division of labor, each dealing with one enemy.

Hearing the commotion behind them, the three Sand Ninja turned and saw Renye and the others' attacks, their expressions changing.

Out of instinct, they subconsciously pulled back.

The leading Sand Ninja saw the Tachi cleaving towards him and was about to dodge when his eyes met a pair of scarlet ones.

Before he could react, the blade landed on his neck, instantly separating his head from his body.

The two Sand Ninja who had just dodged the kunai saw their captain's tragic death, their faces turning grim.

"Damn Konoha Ninja!"

They hadn't expected Konoha Ninja to be hiding in the bushes, ambushing them.

They had been careless; if they had known, they should have checked all the places where people could hide.

Danzo and Koharu ignored the two, attacking with their kunai.

The two Sand Ninja saw them approaching, a sly glint flashing in their eyes.

They drew two kunai from their waists and began to entangle with the two.

Renye keenly noticed the two's expressions of successful scheming, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes.

How could two Chunin have such expressions when facing two Jonin?

He subconsciously looked at the kunai in the Sand Ninja's hands; faint greenish stains remained on the dark kunai.

Renye immediately understood: they had smeared poison on the kunai.

If they adopted a life-for-life fighting style, perhaps Danzo and Koharu might really fall victim...

His expression was a bit strange; why did this fighting style feel somewhat familiar?

"Danzo, Koharu, be careful, there's poison on the kunai," Renye warned, not wanting them to accidentally get hit.

At that point, he would have to spend time detoxifying them.

At first, the two wondered why the Sand Ninja were fighting so recklessly, completely disregarding their own injuries, yet still trying to stab them with kunai.

Upon hearing Renye's warning, they immediately understood.

So the Sand Ninja had smeared poison on their kunai...

The two immediately pulled back, and the Sand Ninja glared at Renye with angry expressions.

If it weren't for that guy's warning, they would have succeeded!

For them, trading their lives for a Jonin's life was a very profitable deal.

So during the battle, they only attacked, merely to create an opening for their opponent.

This poison was developed by a genius poison master in their village.

Once hit, even a Jonin would be useless!

Now that Danzo and Koharu had actively pulled back, they had no way to counter.

"Damn it, die!"

The two Sand Ninja resentfully threw their kunai towards Renye.

In their eyes, it was the guy in front of them who made them miss their chance.

Since they wouldn't survive, they might as well take someone down with them.

Both of them, by coincidence, chose Renye, who had disrupted their plans.

The moment the Sand Ninja threw their kunai, Danzo and Utatane Koharu also threw their kunai, accurately hitting their bodies.

The two Sand Ninja fell to the ground, looking at Renye with expectant expressions.

They hoped Renye hadn't dodged, so someone could die with them.

Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed.

Renye easily dodged the kunai flying towards him.

Seeing this, the Sand Ninja showed expressions of unwillingness before completely dying.

After the battle, Renye picked up the kunai the Sand Ninja had dropped, looking at the faint greenish poison on them, and curled his lip in disdain.

"Is this all there is?"

"It's really trash."

He had thought this poison was very potent, worrying that the two wouldn't even have time to be rescued if they were poisoned.

It turned out he had overestimated the poison developed by the Sand Ninja.

He could easily tell that this poison wouldn't be immediately fatal; it would only cause convulsions in the poisoned person's body, making it difficult to control Chakra.

After a period, the wound would begin to fester.

As time passed, the toxin would gradually spread throughout the body, leading to widespread decay and ultimately death in agony.

"Sand Ninja just love to develop such disgusting things." Renye stuck the kunai into the ground, a hint of contempt flashing in his eyes.

In his opinion, this kind of poison was just a petty trick that couldn't be brought out into the open.

True poison should erupt instantly and silently; by the time you realize you're poisoned, you're already a corpse.

It wouldn't give the poisoned person time to react, and it would never allow the opponent to make a dying counterattack.

Sand Ninja's poison wouldn't kill instantly.

Even if poisoned, one could still fight back and kill the poisoner with their dying breath!

Especially after knowing they were poisoned, there would be no more scruples.

Since they were going to die anyway, they might as well take someone down with them.

This would only result in a mutual destruction scenario.

Unless your strength far surpasses the opponent's...

If your strength truly is superior to your opponent's, then whether or not to use poison is no longer important.

Danzo Shimura picked up the kunai from the ground and asked, "Renye, is this poison as strong as the one you developed?"

Utatane Koharu looked at Renye curiously, awaiting his answer.

Sand Ninja were famous for their use of poison, especially their Puppet Masters, who were master poisoners.

She wondered who developed stronger poison, Renye or the Sand Ninja?

Renye glanced at the two indifferently, "This level of poison isn't even qualified to be compared to mine."

In his eyes, the Sand Ninja's poison was just child's play, not even worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as his.

Hearing this, the two immediately understood.

They had thought the Sand Ninja's poisoning tactics in battle were already dirty enough.

They hadn't expected Renye to be even dirtier than the Sand Ninja...

Danzo Shimura subtly distanced himself from Renye.

As expected of the evil Uchiha!

It seemed he would have to be wary of Renye from now on, or he might get poisoned someday without even knowing it.

With this guy's strength, he could really do it!

Renye took out the map again and began to lead the way according to the instructions.

After encountering the Sand Ninja, Danzo and Koharu no longer questioned Renye.

With the Sand Ninja present, this was definitely the Southwest Battlefield.

They were all a bit surprised; Renye had really learned how to read a map!

Noticing their expressions, Renye looked triumphant.

"Do you believe me now? I really can read maps."

"Renye-kun, that's amazing!" Utatane Koharu praised.

Renye's lips curved slightly at her words.

Danzo Shimura, on the other hand, looked speechless. What was there to show off about something that even Ninja School students could master proficiently?

However, he only dared to grumble in his mind and didn't voice it.

As a team member, it was better not to offend the captain.

Hmm, that's right!

It definitely wasn't because he was afraid Renye would poison him!
