Chapter 200: The reason for Kakuzu's longevity

“An attack of this level trying to harm me is simply wishful thinking.”

Looking at the kunai flying out of the mist, Kakuzu thought disdainfully, slightly turning his body to dodge them.

Is the Second Hokage only this strong?

It seems he had overestimated him earlier; the Ninja God’s brother is nothing special.

“Swish, swish, swish!”

Several kunai whizzed past Kakuzu’s ear, and he noticed that Senju Tobirama’s figure had vanished without a trace.

What’s going on?!

Before he could react, Senju Tobirama suddenly appeared in front of him, grabbing two thrown kunai and thrusting them fiercely towards his heart.

Kakuzu’s pupils suddenly constricted at the sight, seemingly not expecting Senju Tobirama to appear so suddenly. He was about to make a defensive move, but Senju Tobirama’s movements were too fast, and the two kunai directly pierced into his heart.

Renye, who witnessed the entire process from afar, was filled with longing. “Is this the Flying Thunder God Technique?”

This Ninjutsu is simply a must-have for home travel and assassinations. If he learned it, wouldn’t he be able to slaughter on the battlefield?

Unfortunately, a year has passed, and he still hasn’t fully grasped the spatial theory.

It will take at least another year or two to fully master it.

Now that the war is over, there is plenty of time to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique.

He believes that as long as he is serious and diligent enough, he will learn it sooner or later.

Although the Flying Thunder God is difficult to learn, it’s not like no one in the original work learned it. Besides Minato Namikaze… his three escorts could also use the Flying Thunder God Formation together.

During the Fourth Ninja World War, the three of them collectively used the Flying Thunder God Formation to transport Mei Terumī, the Mizukage, to the battlefield.

This indirectly proves that ordinary people still have a chance to learn it; the problem lies in whether they can use it proficiently.

In Renye’s view, just learning it is enough for now; as for mastering it proficiently, that can be dealt with later.

His gaze fell on Senju Tobirama, wanting to observe how this Old Man used the Flying Thunder God.

“Crack—”

Two sounds of masks shattering were heard simultaneously.

Kakuzu felt intense pain in his chest as two hearts were destroyed at the same time. The Earth Grudge Fear’s tentacles writhed frantically, repairing his damaged body, but the two lost hearts could not regenerate.

His face was terribly gloomy, and his killing intent surged in his eyes.

Senju Tobirama’s movements were too fast, so fast that he couldn’t react before two of his hearts were destroyed.

If he didn’t have so many hearts, anyone else would have been killed already.

Counting the heart destroyed before, Kakuzu had already lost three hearts just as the battle began!

He now only had two hearts left, meaning he only had two lives left.

If Senju Tobirama managed to strike him again, the consequences would be unimaginable!

“Is this the Flying Thunder God Technique?”

Kakuzu immediately realized that it was rumored Senju Tobirama had created a space-time Ninjutsu, and it turned out to be true.

It’s indeed very troublesome!

Kakuzu’s two remaining hearts pounded fiercely in his chest. His eyes were shadowed, and his muscles were tense, as if he was about to burst into a desperate struggle at any moment.

“Heh heh, as expected of the Second Hokage. I truly underestimated you before.” Kakuzu sneered, “But do you think this is enough to defeat me?”

Senju Tobirama swiftly retreated, landing steadily, his stern gaze fixed on Kakuzu, the kunai in his hand glinting coldly.

He was not in a hurry to attack, but observed Kakuzu’s next move with a calm demeanor.

He wanted to prevent the opponent from getting desperate and trying to take him down with him.

“Your abilities are indeed strange, but in the face of absolute speed, any trick is futile,” Senju Tobirama said coldly.

“Heh heh, then let’s wait and see!” Kakuzu roared, forming hand signs to release a Ninjutsu.

“Earth Release: Earth Spikes!”

Several sharp earth spikes erupted from the ground, shooting rapidly towards Senju Tobirama. At the same time, the only remaining mask on his back glowed.

“Fire Release: Searing Migraine!”

Flames combined with earth spikes assailed Senju Tobirama.

Senju Tobirama’s eyes sharpened. He flashed, dodging the range of the earth spikes’ attack. Looking at the roaring flames, he quickly formed hand signs.

“Water Release: Water Wall!”

A massive wall of water rose from the ground, colliding with the flames and creating a sky full of mist.

Senju Tobirama’s vision was obstructed, and he vigilantly looked around. He didn’t know what Kakuzu wanted to do, which was why he didn’t choose to attack immediately.

“Now!” Kakuzu seized the moment his vision was obscured, suddenly unleashing all his strength.

Hearing this, Senju Tobirama tightened his grip on the kunai, fully on guard, preventing the opponent from a dying counterattack.

Having fought on battlefields since he was young, he had encountered such scenarios far too many times.

Almost every dying person would choose to take their opponent down with them.

He handled such situations with ease…

No sooner had he spoken than Kakuzu’s figure suddenly retreated sharply, turning and fleeing without hesitation.

Not an attack, but an escape!

He couldn’t win, simply couldn’t win…

If all five hearts were gone, he would truly perish here.

If not now, when would he run?!

Losing three hearts in two skirmishes made him realize very clearly that he was no match for Senju Tobirama.

Continuing to fight would only lead to death.

He pretended to attack, but was actually trying to seize the opportunity to escape!

Kakuzu’s speed was astonishingly fast. He had already covered dozens of meters before anyone could react.

“What?!” Hiruzen Sarutobi was stunned.

“That guy… ran away?!” Utatane Koharu was incredulous.

The others had not expected Kakuzu to choose to flee. From his previous stance, they had thought he was going to fight to the death.

Renye was also stunned, then his mouth twitched.

As expected of the old monster who would live to be over ninety in the future; with this escape speed, almost no one could catch up.

If you can’t win, then you have to run faster.

If your escape speed is slow, you’ll be caught and killed.

“Kakuzu fought simultaneously with the First Hokage and the Second Hokage, and successfully retreated. He’ll have bragging rights in the Akatsuki Organization later.”

Renye could already envision Kakuzu, decades later, bragging about his achievements without batting an eye.

Looking at Kakuzu’s rapidly fleeing back, Senju Tobirama’s eyes flashed, and he instantly flung out the two kunai in his hand.

“Whoosh! Whoosh!”

The kunai cut through the air, precisely piercing into Kakuzu’s back.

“Pfft!”

Kakuzu’s body trembled in the distance, then he fell heavily to the ground.

Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, they saw Kakuzu struggling to get up from the ground, his back gradually turning black.

This was Kakuzu’s Earth Release: Hardening Jutsu. A hardened body possessed powerful defensive capabilities.

“He’s not dead yet?!” Danzo Shimura’s eyes widened. This guy was too hard to kill.

Kakuzu’s running speed increased even further, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared from everyone’s sight, without even having time to utter a single harsh word.

Renye clicked his tongue, filled with emotion. He could only say that he was indeed the Ninja World’s longevity champion.

There’s a reason he lived so many years; with this escape speed, most people really can’t compare…
