Chapter 309: Besieged

And it wasn't just Night Owl…

The Black Horse Strategy Group’s parachute, looking rough and unadorned, descended towards P City with an overbearing momentum, just like Lei Yu himself.

Further away, the fiery red parachute emblem of the Crimson Blaze Strategy Group marked its presence.

The Shadow Strategy Group’s dark gray parachute, seemingly blending into the shadows…

Even parachutes from several other well-known Baiye City strategy groups were visible.

They were like a flock of vultures that had smelled blood.

From different directions of the aircraft carrier, as if drawn by an invisible magnet, or perhaps having received the same undeniable command, all the parachutes traced rapid trajectories in the air, converging on a single point.

And the center of that point was Li Shenyu.

A chilling cold instantly shot up Li Shenyu’s spine to the top of his head, overriding the cold of the high altitude.

His pupils suddenly constricted as he stared intently at the cluster of parachutes encircling him from all directions.

The wind from the rapid descent whistled in his ears.

Li Shenyu’s heart sank to rock bottom, faster than his falling speed.

The sky above P City, which should have been a free hunting ground, now seemed to have opened up an invisible, massive net.

“A Shen Ge, behind you!”

The ripped-jeans girl’s sharp voice came through the system mic, laced with unconcealed shock.

Li Shenyu didn’t need to look back; a mere glance at the parachutes in the sky with his peripheral vision told him everything…

This was no coincidence!

Night Owl, Black Horse, Crimson Blaze, Shadow…

All the Baiye City strategy groups participating in the competition were furiously closing in on the position of their Tide Squad.

“Damn it!”

Li Shenyu had never been so enraged; a cold fury instantly replaced his initial shock.

“Land, grab guns, quick, find cover!”

He gritted his teeth and issued the command.

He forcefully twisted his body in the air, pushing his parachute’s trajectory lower and faster, attempting to crash onto the roof of a red-brick, two-story building on the outskirts of P City before anyone else.

Bang!

Li Shenyu landed heavily on the tiles, rolling to absorb the impact, his movements seamless, not even bothering with the pain.

With quick eyes and hands, he snatched up a submachine gun and a quick-draw extended magazine that had spawned nearby, while scanning the rooftop and grabbing two fragmentation grenades to stuff into his backpack.

“A Shen Ge, we’re inside!”

The ripped-jeans girl and another girl burst through the door downstairs.

They rushed into the first floor.

The silent young man landed in the courtyard of the adjacent bungalow.

Their speed was incredibly fast; upon sensing the impending danger, they swiftly explored the area, aiming to secure weapons first so they could fight back.

However, it was still too late!

“Bang, bang, bang!”

“Da, da, da!”

Gunshots erupted outside the building where Li Shenyu was, so dense they were suffocating.

They didn’t dare to show their heads.

The teams of Night Owl, Black Horse, and Crimson Blaze landed almost simultaneously with the Tide Squad, crashing into the surrounding buildings.

“Tide Squad is in the red-brick building, prioritize fire!”

A voice rang out over P City, without hesitation or concealment; everyone’s target was directly Li Shenyu.

“Received, preparing to form an encirclement!”

“Crimson Blaze, cover the area with fire, don’t let them peek out!” Lin Wei’s clear yet murderous voice rang out.

“Shadow, take the high ground, lock down all exits!”

Instantly, the red-brick building where the Tide Squad was located became the absolute focal point of the entire P City battlefield.

“Da, da, da, da!”

Bullets poured down like a storm, causing sparks to fly and debris to splatter from the red-brick building’s outer wall.

The window glass instantly shattered.

Three players from the Black Horse Strategy Group, led by Lei Yu, rapidly approached the red-brick building, rushing towards its main entrance with incredible speed under the cover fire of other teams.

“Ah!” A shrill scream came from downstairs; it was the trendy girl who had rushed into the first floor. She had just picked up a shotgun and hadn't even loaded it when Lei Yu, who had charged in through the main door, knocked her to the ground with a frying pan.

The words “Save me” hadn’t even left her lips.

Continuous blows from the frying pan relentlessly pounded her to death.

“Damn it, you bastards!” The other girl shrieked in terror, attempting to rescue her.

But she was pinned against the wall by a string of precise bullets shot in through the window from outside, unable to move, as blood blossomed on her arm.

“Bang!”

The silent young man tried to fight back from the adjacent bungalow.

He used the rifle he had just picked up to down a Black Horse player who was closing in on the girl, but his exposed position immediately drew concentrated fire from the Crimson Blaze squad.

Grenades were thrown into his house.

Forcing him to retreat.

And that retreat instantly drew fire from over a dozen muzzles.

Explosions and gunshots instantly engulfed his figure, and his elimination message flashed across the system announcement.

Less than a few minutes after landing, the Tide Squad was down two members, and one was critically wounded and trapped.

Li Shenyu’s eyes were bloodshot.

His teammates’ elimination messages flashed across the system panel.

He had never imagined that such blatant rule-breaking would occur in a fair and square competition.

He leaned against the low wall on the rooftop, listening to the muffled thuds of bullets hitting the bricks and the countless dense footsteps echoing around the house.

“Night Owl, Black Horse, Crimson Blaze, Shadow… are you guys shameless?!”

Li Shenyu roared at those below, his voice hoarse with anger.

“If you’ve got guts, fight one-on-one! What kind of skill is ganging up? And you still have the nerve to call yourselves Baiye City’s strongest strategy groups!”

His answer was the deafening crash of Lei Yu kicking open the second-floor door.

And his unrestrained roar: “Li Shenyu, get your ass down here! If you don’t, your pretty little sister’s head will be offered to my frying pan!”

No sooner had he spoken than the sound of a frying pan hitting something came from downstairs, along with the trapped girl’s final desperate cry.

“A Shen Ge… run…”

The voice abruptly cut off.

Downstairs, it was completely silent.

Only the crude rummaging and heavy footsteps of the enemies remained.

Li Shenyu’s heart sank into an ice cavern, immense fury almost drowning him.

He had never experienced such humiliation in his life.

He tightened his grip on the submachine gun in his hand; the cold metal touch forced him to suppress his surging emotions.

Now, he was the only one left.

He quickly scanned the rooftop environment.

The only staircase led downstairs, where enemies were surely guarding, perhaps even more than one team ambushing.

The surroundings were open; jumping down would make him a living target.

A desperate situation!

However, an unprecedented, wild flame ignited in Li Shenyu’s eyes.

The pride of being Ladder Rank One, the anger of his teammates being annihilated, transformed into a desperate resolve.

“You want my head? Then come and take it with your lives!”

Li Shenyu growled, his eyes sharp as an eagle’s, catching the subtle sounds of enemy movement downstairs.

He abruptly pulled the pin of a fragmentation grenade, counted two seconds in his mind, then unhesitatingly threw it down the stairwell.

At the same time, he suddenly lunged towards the other edge of the rooftop, where some 雜物 were piled up for cover.

Just as he dove down.

“Boom!”

A violent explosion and several painful groans came from downstairs.
