"Equipment Department!!!"
The bolded, red title quickly flew to the Night Watcher Forum in the middle of the night, and the awakened students left comments one after another.
"Isn't this too much! You're doing experiments in the dorm area!"
"What a joke, didn't you say you'd send out a mass email notification for explosive experiments? Where's the email!"
"I really can't stand you crazy people in the Equipment Department!!!"
"Equipment Department, go to hell!!!"
"..."
Lu Mingfei got up from the ground, covered in dust. Lu Mingze, that kid, was considerate enough to throw the watch out the window before he left, saving him from disaster.
He coughed twice and leaned out the window to check the situation outside.
Many dorm windows had cracks, and dorms that were previously dark now had their lights on.
Some even opened their windows to vent their frustrations.
Lu Mingfei opened the Night Watcher Forum and was surprised to find that the culprit had already been identified.
And the culprit claimed responsibility for the incident.
Equipment Department: We love this bomb. We made it.
Lu Mingfei was speechless, gaining a deeper impression of the madmen in the Equipment Department.
While everyone was condemning the Equipment Department, a message popped up in Lu Mingfei's private message window.
"Dear Brother, until you completely master this basic skill, I will come every night."
The sender's ID was not visible, but based on the salutation and text message alone, Lu Mingfei could guess it was Lu Mingze with his toes.
This lesson ended in a way Lu Mingfei hadn't expected. He had thought he would master some kind of light wave skill, sweeping away large areas, but he hadn't expected that he couldn't even manage the basics.
At the same time, 40 meters below the library.
A shadow sat with his hands clasped, hunched in a swivel chair, his head down. Only the faint glow of the screen illuminated him slightly, but his face remained in shadow.
"Your luck has always been good. That explosion was the perfect event to erase your infiltration information," Noma's voice said. "The security system going dormant is a very good reason."
"Is there something you need here?"
"The Chinese say 'no business, no visit to the temple.' To get along well with my roommate, I've learned a lot," the person in the swivel chair chuckled.
"Enter EVA personality activation program."
"You still care about superficial things," Noma said.
The huge screen darkened. In the darkness, only numerous red and green small lights flickered. Massive personality data poured into this super host, like a tide reversing into a river.
The hard drive light, data traffic indicator, and host frequency indicator all flashed at ten times the speed, and increasingly faster, until a nearly frantic frequency controlled the rhythm of the entire basement.
All the lights gradually extinguished, and the basement plunged into absolute darkness.
Until a beam of light shone from directly above, landing in front of the swivel chair.
A girl's shadow stood in the center of the light beam, translucent, shimmering with a faint glow. Her long black hair flowed down to her feet, but her hair tips floated in the air. She wore a silk nightgown-like dress, barefoot, and smiled.
"EVA." The man couldn't help but reach out, entering the light beam.
"What you touch is merely a collection of 1s and 0s. Why do you still reach out?" EVA said softly.
"Just a habit of holding your hand," the man whispered. Fluorescent fragments flashed in his palm, then disappeared.
"Tell me what happened," EVA asked.
"In the Execution Department, there's a pair of partners who are a couple. I'd like you to send this information to the Principal, or the professor leading the Kui Men Plan."
"Ye Sheng and Shuhtome Yaji?"
"So you knew."
"I found it in Lu Mingfei's chat logs and immediately sent it to the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and the Execution Department, but it was blocked."
"Reason?" the man asked.
"They are currently on an important mission."
"Ha," the man paused, "Just like us back then. That's why I need your help. Let's not repeat the same mistakes. Send a copy to Professor Schneider too."
"Okay," EVA said softly. "You're still dwelling in memories, which isn't good for your mental health."
"I once thought I would forget this, but every time I wake up in the middle of the night, I can never tell who I truly am," the man's voice was hoarse.
"I hate memories, but I can't shake them off."
"The plan was personally formulated by the Principal, and Ye Sheng and Shuhtome Yaji are the strongest combination in the Execution Department. Even if you send it again, nothing will change," EVA said.
"This time, there's another person's report that doesn't seem to have reached you yet," the man chuckled.
"Lu Mingfei reported Ye Sheng and them, using it as a stepping stone to join the Disciplinary Committee."
"That certainly increased the probability of this matter succeeding," EVA said.
"Any news on the Prince?" the man asked again.
"If he is still alive, he should have become an Emperor. I'm sorry, I have no news of him."
"He must live. That putrid smell should never be buried before I've met him, otherwise, how am I supposed to kill him with my own hands?"
The man uttered this extremely vicious sentence with the utmost coldness.
EVA silently watched him. "If only killing him can let you sleep well, then... kill him. I'll await your good news."
The man nodded, and after a quarter of an hour of tenderness, he reluctantly withdrew his hand from the air.
He had only been holding air to begin with.
He walked out, scrolling on his phone. Unseen by the naked eye, but the dense, spiderweb-like infrared scanning system shut down, the camera system automatically turned off, the flickering red alert lights switched to green, the high voltage on the hallway floor was cut, and the security system entered a brief dormant state.
"Oh, by the way, was that explosion really done by the Equipment Department?" He glanced at the forum's headline.
"No, the explosion originated near Sector 1, 303. Surveillance saw a watch thrown out of 303, and then the explosion occurred," EVA said seriously.
"Sounds ridiculous," the man chuckled. "I didn't think Lu Mingfei could modify a watch into a bomb."
He turned and left.
EVA watched him go.
Across the ocean, Principal Angers received the notification at that moment.
"Look what our dear S-class has done, Mans."
He showed the email to Professor Mans.
"Lu Mingfei reported Ye Sheng for liking Shuhtome Yaji, violating Execution Department discipline?" Mans exclaimed.
"Why?"
"Looks like a condition for joining the Disciplinary Committee," Angers shrugged. "It seems our plan will have to be postponed for a while."
"Principal?" Mans was incredulous. The Principal would actually suspend the Kui Men Plan for something like this.
"Mans, ten years ago, we lost many excellent young people because of the same thing. I don't want the same thing to happen again," Angers slowly looked up at Mans and said quietly.
"Our dragon-slaying endeavor does not require needless sacrifices."
Professor Mans was silent for a long time. "I understand. I'll go notify Ye Sheng to stop training and prepare for disciplinary action now."
Mans left with hurried steps, and Angers slowly leaned back.
"Lu Mingfei... you're more opinionated than I imagined."
