Fingel looked at him with reverence. "S-class, please come this way."
"Brother, you've really fallen to a certain extent. Your former A-class glory is no more." Lu Mingfei glanced at Fingel. "Leave some shredded pork with Beijing sauce, I haven't had dinner yet."
"Mission accomplished!"
Lu Mingfei walked alone to the library and entered the central control room.
Before he could find anyone he knew to chat with, he saw Caesar, dressed in his school uniform, enter with a poker face and a confident stride, followed by Student Union cadres who were equally expressionless.
Lu Mingfei sighed inwardly. Sure enough, Caesar was most excited about this kind of thing. He had gathered all the elites of the Student Union and rushed over.
Looking to another side, Chu Zihang had also arrived. The Lionheart Society and the Student Union sat on opposite sides, keeping to themselves.
Most of the students above A-class were probably here.
All students above A-class who hadn't been divided by the two major societies were only the new students who arrived this semester.
Qilan, Zero, and himself.
Lu Mingfei originally wanted to find an empty seat, but seeing Caesar and Chu Zihang both look at him, he had no choice but to sit in the front row.
Professor Guderian, Professor Manstein, and Professor Schneider all stepped forward, their expressions serious.
Following them, a seemingly unfamiliar professor took the stage. After careful observation, Lu Mingfei found the corresponding name in his memory.
It was Professor Mans Rundstedt, the professor of "Magic Mechanical Design."
"Students: 13, A-class: 12, S-class: 1. Headmaster, everyone is here."
Professor Mans said to the empty corridor.
"Good."
Lu Mingfei looked back at the sound. A black custom suit, gleaming Italian leather shoes, and a vibrant red rose often pinned to his chest.
His white hair was neatly combed, and time had left deep marks on his face, but his features remained sharp. Light danced in his silver-gray eyes, and his demeanor was like a young lion.
Just by looking at the old man's walking posture, one could conclude that he was terrifyingly strong.
Even in a suit, the biceps area of his arms was still bulging. Such an old man, if not on the level of Li Yuanba or Cheng Yaojin, could at least easily carry a horse on his arm.
"My dear students, I'm happy to be alive and see you all." The Headmaster laughed heartily:
"Due to personnel configuration issues, I had to come back to see you and then hand over this mission to my students." Angers slowly walked to the front of the stage, his expression relaxed, as if the mission he spoke of was not very difficult.
But from the scale of the gathering, it was clear that the Headmaster's relaxed demeanor was a facade.
"Where is Lu Mingfei? Can you stand up so I can see you?"
The students' eyes were full of surprise. Lu Mingfei was sitting right in front of the Headmaster. From what they knew of the Headmaster, he wouldn't be presbyopic even in another twenty years.
"I'm here."
Lu Mingfei stood up and looked at Angers, his expression calm, but in that instant of eye contact with Angers, a deep, hidden panic could still be glimpsed in his eyes.
"I'm glad you were able to step forward and promptly point out the errors in our mission, which prevented the participating members from making a big mistake." Angers smiled.
These words caused Chu Zihang, Caesar, and the people behind them to look sideways, inevitably thinking about Lu Mingfei's recent refusal to join a society, and the inside information they had gotten from Fingel.
They had originally thought it was just a slacker's mentality, not wanting to be coerced into becoming a provisional president, but they hadn't expected there to be other plans.
Now it seemed the plans were quite significant.
Thinking of this, some began to question the truthfulness of that night's post. Could Fingel have deliberately downplayed the S-class's legendary experience to generate hype?
For example, was it not that the S-class admired a female classmate, but that the female classmate pursued the S-class?
Oh, what was that female classmate's name again?
Never mind, it's not important. What's important is whether the information to grill Fingel about later was fabricated.
Lu Mingfei, on the other hand, suddenly understood. He finally understood the Headmaster's intention.
It seemed his report had worked. Senior Brother Ye Sheng and Senior Sister Yaji were punished, and the Headmaster had to rush back from China to re-select personnel.
It's just...
Lu Mingfei still had doubts in his mind. Why not choose from the Execution Department? Why gather students from the academy?
"Perhaps you're wondering, since there was a problem with the Execution Department's mission personnel configuration, why not select personnel from the Execution Department? Why come to the academy?"
Angers seemed to have mind-reading abilities, watching Lu Mingfei's changing expression and voicing Lu Mingfei's thoughts.
"Because your War Practice class has been moved up."
A commotion erupted below the stage.
Lu Mingfei was startled. He remembered that this class wasn't on his schedule, so he quickly pulled out his phone to ask Fingel, only then realizing that War Practice was a mandatory course every academic year.
When Fingel chose his class schedule, he might have considered Lu Mingfei's combat strength, wanting him to train at the academy for a semester before going to the War Practice class to show his skills and consolidate his S-class status.
Lu Mingfei quickly typed to ask Fingel, "What is the War Practice class for?"
"The War Practice class is a warm-up for dragon-slaying reservists before heading to the battlefield between mixed-bloods and dragons," Fingel said.
"Before the class starts, everyone will sign a body repatriation form. You'll probably get one soon."
Angers looked at the students below the stage and chuckled, "Empty talk on paper always separates people from true reality with an unclear layer of sandpaper. Piercing through it is precisely the meaning of the War Practice class's existence."
"Opportunities are fleeting. Instead of leaving this mission opportunity to the specialists of the Execution Department, I prefer to use it to temper my dearest students."
"Temper?" Lu Mingfei chewed on the word from Angers's mouth. He completely trusted the Headmaster's Chinese proficiency, just as the Headmaster's appearance had given Lu Mingfei a sense of reliability.
He believed the Headmaster was top-tier in any field.
"Not very dangerous?" Lu Mingfei muttered to himself.
"Of course the danger is not low. In the Execution Department, it would definitely be an A-class mission at minimum." Angers heard Lu Mingfei's words.
"Its special aspect is that, in addition to me escorting you during this operation, there will also be people responsible for your safety at the mission location."
"For them, anyone who dies within their protection is their failure."
Lu Mingfei looked up at Angers. He knew the reason for the Headmaster's return, and naturally, he also knew the mission location.
The Kui Men Plan.
"First-year students can rest assured, students your age are usually assigned to surveillance, sentry, and logistical work, and will not be fully involved in the mission or become a key factor influencing it," Angers said, looking at Lu Mingfei.
"The mission will begin in one month. Before then, you can freely mobilize resources to improve yourselves. Relevant mission details have already been sent to your email via Noma. Children, see you in a month."
"Yes, Headmaster." The 13 people replied in unison.
Lu Mingfei stood up, preparing to return to his dorm to ask Fingel for his opinion. Just then, a sentence drifted out.
"Lu Mingfei, stay for a moment."
Everyone was startled. Silence fell until only Lu Mingfei and Angers remained in the central control room.
"Headmaster, is there something?" Lu Mingfei stood still, looking at Angers and asking.
"Don't be so formal with me. Your Grandfather Gao and I are very good friends." Angers waved Lu Mingfei over.
"I'm very happy to see you grow up healthy to this point. He would be happy to see it too."
Angers placed one hand on Lu Mingfei's shoulder, revealing a kind smile, as if he were truly looking at his junior.
"I promised everyone they could freely allocate resources. In their impression, I probably don't count as a resource that can be allocated." Angers's voice paused, and his other hand also rested on Lu Mingfei's shoulder.
"So I will have a month to give you many one-on-one lessons."
