Chapter 91: Chasing

A pressure settled over everyone's heads; the bronze walls, alive with matches in their mouths, shed flakes of rust, countless heavy objects fell behind them, and countless bubbles rose behind them.

Ronald Tang's eyes widened. Seeing Lu Mingfei's actions, he realized something was terribly wrong and instinctively wanted to slip away alone, but after a moment's thought, he grabbed Lu Mingfei's arm.

He gestured for Lu Mingfei to follow him.

Lu Mingfei didn't refuse; at this point, if he didn't trust Ronald Tang, he had no other choice. Being safe was better than facing danger.

He hugged the weakened Zero and nodded at Ronald Tang, indicating he would listen to him.

Suddenly, an earth-shattering boom interrupted their conversation. Ronald Tang's blood surged, his vision blurred, and the brass jar on his back knocked against the back of his head.

Lu Mingfei was slightly better off than Ronald Tang; he reached out a hand to steady Ronald Tang's body.

Beneath their feet, a terrifying indentation suddenly appeared on the huge bronze wall, bulging into a massive arc within seconds. Dozens of seconds later, deafening explosions echoed again inside the bronze city, and the indentation immediately became horrifyingly conspicuous. The spotlights even revealed cracks in the bronze used as alchemical material!

The thing outside was about to break in!

Judging by the size of the indentation, the creature outside was at least dozens of meters long, its volume comparable to the heavy sea whales Lu Mingfei had seen in deep-sea documentaries.

Such a terrifying creature was hidden beneath the Yangtze River!

Ronald Tang shivered violently, pulling Lu Mingfei towards the giant snake statue. This bronze wall was already at its limit; if they didn't leave now, it would be over!

Lu Mingfei was tense all over, following behind Ronald Tang. Every second, their air tank readings dropped, indicating that this escape was no less intense than the battle where Lu Mingfei killed the stowaway.

They were running with all their might.

The river water's temperature had reached a point where Lu Mingfei felt he could comfortably soak in a hot spring, but now was clearly not the time for enjoyment, and the temperature was still rising!

Enduring the heat, they swam rapidly upwards. Their original escape route had been blocked; that was the passage Zero had calculated.

Now, Lu Mingfei had to rely on the fated child chosen by the top lot, Ronald Tang!

This world was truly absurd; the most useless one became an S-class, while the most useless one's best brother became a fated child.

Suddenly, golden light illuminated behind them. The black bronze melted in an instant, then rapidly cooled in the river water. Countless bubbles enveloped them, instead becoming a boost that pushed them further.

The lava that was originally aimed at them missed due to the sudden thrust.

Lu Mingfei looked back at the disappearing lava. This thing almost took his life. For a moment, he thought his wetsuit on his back was going to melt.

But the truth was, with such a large rush of air, both he and Ronald Tang just happened to dodge it.

He saw the creature waiting for them outside.

Beneath the bronze mask was an ancient and majestic body. Blackish-green scales enveloped a domain of fire elements, and its entire body was heated to a molten red. Its furious Golden Eyes locked onto him across space, and with a roar that shook the entire bronze city, it crashed over.

King of Bronze and Fire lineage Next Generation Species Dragonkind.

The moment Lu Mingfei saw this monster, he understood its origin.

Liu Heguang had said there were Next Generation Species in the bronze city, guards accompanying the king in slumber, the strongest dragons beneath the Dragon Kings.

Lu Mingfei was now staring directly at it.

As if provoked, Lu Mingfei's pupils slowly became vertical. His scorching Golden Eyes released a ferocity far exceeding that of a Next Generation Species. An invisible Rune violently fluctuated around Lu Mingfei, and finally, with a roar that pierced through the river water, the Next Generation Species unwillingly halted its steps.

The bronze throne atop the white bones was clearly reflected in the Next Generation Species' Golden Eyes.

The Next Generation Species was enraged, roaring, and shaking its head uneasily, not daring to advance another step.

The huge bronze wall passed through their line of sight. Ronald Tang pulled Lu Mingfei's arm, leading him out of the Next Generation Species' sight, leaving only the Next Generation Species, gradually enveloped by the bronze wall, raging powerlessly.

The scenery around them rapidly receded. Lu Mingfei regained his composure, hugging Zero and following Ronald Tang's pace.

Dragon tombs always have tomb guardians: dragons. Three-Generations Breeds are like the King of Ocean and Water Dragonkind dealt with not long ago. The ones guarding the dragon tomb are Death Servants. Although many were dispersed due to the dragon tomb owner's resurrection, the remaining Death Servants were still formidable.

Not to mention that the bronze city was actually Dragon King Norton's dragon tomb. To become a tomb-guarding dragon also required qualifications; not just any random creature could be a Dragon King's guard or a tomb-guarding dragon.

With a Next Generation Species possessing such a magnificent fire element domain, Lu Mingfei could have guessed the identity of that Next Generation Species if he had ever read 'Dragon Genealogy'.

But unfortunately, since Kassel's opening, the principal hadn't taught a single class, and Lu Mingfei had only briefly tasted the flavor of an 8 AM class before being dragged off to training.

"A great-grandchild or great-great-grandchild," Zero's weak voice appeared inside Lu Mingfei's oxygen mask. "As one of the excellent descendants of the Dragon King, they were chosen to guard the Dragon King's mausoleum."

Zero finally recovered some strength, emerging from Lu Mingfei's embrace and floating to the side, looking at Ronald Tang with complex eyes.

Could someone in the world truly be this lucky? Just picking a random direction led to an escape route.

She no longer had the energy to question Ronald Tang. Compared to trusting Ronald Tang's choice, she trusted Lu Mingfei's choice more.

Deafening roars echoed one after another behind them. A thick bronze wall was shattered or melted by that Next Generation Species in less than 15 seconds.

The Next Generation Species was in a hurry. Rare emotions appeared in its reddish-golden dragon eyes. As a tomb-guarding dragon, its mission was to guard the Dragon King's cocoon. It had originally intended to directly eliminate one by relying on its bloodline, but it hadn't expected the opponent to be so troublesome. The majesty contained within those Golden Eyes was no less than its own, even surpassing it.

Moreover, ever since encountering this group of humans, it had been unable to control the bronze city. The bronze city even seemed to be repelling it, with bronze walls always conveniently blocking its path at crucial moments.

It had to be more reckless now.

A moment later, a sound like a bell chiming and a cannon firing erupted from the Next Generation Species' mouth—absolutely pure Dragon Rune, a heritage spanning countless ages flowing in its bones and blood.

The ultimate Rune chant!

The pronunciation, intonation, grammar, and user were perfectly combined. If it hadn't yet adapted to the rhythm of the current world, this Rune could have been even more exaggerated.

A crimson domain, ignoring all tangible volume, spread out unrestrainedly.

The entire bronze space was enveloped in an instant.

A scorching ring of fire appeared and began to contract, with the center of the ring being the location of Lu Mingfei and the two others.
