Chapter 227: A big name

Qin Lingxi and the others were very surprised after hearing Qin Chu's words. They had always believed that certain things were true, that the Valley of the Sword God had indeed attacked the Blazing Thunder Holy Clan and the White Tiger Holy Clan. But after hearing Qin Chu's words, they realized that the truth was different from what they had imagined.

In their subsequent conversation, Qin Chu described his experience inside Heavenly Sword Mountain.

“Qin Chu, you said the woman who entered Heavenly Sword Mountain with you is your Senior Sister?” Qin Lingxi asked, looking at Qin Chu.

“Yes, she is a member of the Azure Dragon Clan. She also knows that I am from the Vermilion Bird Holy Clan. Back then, in the Azure Cloud Sect of Southern Li State, she already knew I possessed holy blood. If she wanted to harm me, she would have done so long ago, so Auntie doesn't need to worry,” Qin Chu explained to Qin Lingxi, not wanting her to misunderstand Shang Shuyu.

“What you said makes sense. She hasn't revealed your secret for such a long time, so she won't be a threat to you! Speaking of connections with the Azure Dragon Holy Clan, you still have a marriage contract with their little princess, but it's just an empty promise now, especially since our Vermilion Bird Holy Clan is somewhat in decline,” Qin Lingxi said, looking at Qin Chu. She felt that the Family owed Qin Chu, as they hadn't provided him with much help over the years, but instead left him with many messy situations.

“Later, I will go to the Azure Dragon Holy Clan to discuss it. Not to break off the engagement, but to dissolve the marriage contract, so as not to damage the dignity of both sides. After that, we go our separate ways!” Qin Chu stated his idea.

Qin Longxuan pinched the bridge of his nose, “Is this appropriate? After all, we haven't seen any intention from their side to break off the engagement!”

“That's because Third Uncle doesn't know some things. Tiger Prince Shang Tang of the White Tiger Holy Clan went to the Azure Dragon Holy Clan to propose marriage, and some people in the Azure Dragon Holy Clan are supportive. Knowing that their little princess has a marriage contract with our Vermilion Bird Holy Clan, yet still showing support, speaks volumes. However, the little princess of the Azure Dragon Holy Clan seems to have run away from the marriage,” Qin Chu explained the situation he understood.

“Since some people in the Azure Dragon Holy Clan don't care about this marriage contract, then so be it,” Qin Longxuan said. He had hoped Qin Chu could have a good marriage, but if the other party showed no interest, forcing it was useless.

“Let this matter take its natural course,” Qin Lingxi said.

After discussing some matters, Qin Chu left the inn and returned to the Alchemist Guild.

“You brat, you still know how to come back?” As Qin Chu entered the main hall of the Alchemist Guild, he saw Chu Shan. Elder Lin was also there, both drinking tea in a corner of the Alchemist Guild's main hall!

“Elder Chu, I only came back one day late,” Qin Chu said with a smile.

“What makes me angry is, wouldn't it be better for you to officially join the Alchemist Guild? You insist on cooperating with others, and even have to give them a Sword Intent Grass. Are you not aware that you are a Sword Cultivator yourself?” Chu Shan looked at Qin Chu, throwing out a string of complaints.

Qin Chu didn't know how to explain. Chu Shan meant well, but he had his own ideas.

“Sit down! I can see that you value freedom very much and are unwilling to be constrained. Presumably, the Demon Castle might have offered you some conditions, but you didn't accept them,” Elder Lin said, looking at Qin Chu.

“Yes, people always need to have some persistence. For example, now, if the Alchemist Guild needs me to do anything, anything I can do, Qin Chu will not refuse. But I don't want this to be a responsibility, something that must be forced. This conflicts with my philosophy,” Qin Chu said.

Elder Lin sized up Qin Chu, “Very mature and steady in thought. Unwilling to let others dictate his path. This is an obsession, but not a bad thing.”

“I suppose so! I ask for Elder Lin and Elder Chu's understanding,” Qin Chu said.

“Understanding my ass! As if the Alchemist Guild would try to trick you!” Chu Shan blurted out a crude remark.

Elder Lin laughed, “Don't listen to Elder Chu. I support your idea. People without their own philosophy are unlikely to achieve Major Achievement. I have high hopes for you. Furthermore, the Alchemist Guild is different from other forces; it rarely, or rather, never, forces its Alchemists to do anything.”

Qin Chu nodded. He knew that Elder Lin still hoped he would join the Alchemist Guild, otherwise he wouldn't have explained the situation of the Alchemist Guild.

Cupping his fists to Elder Lin and Chu Shan, Qin Chu took two orders, then went to the pill room and began Alchemy.

After refining two furnaces of Medicinal Pills, Qin Chu left the Alchemist Guild and found an inn to stay in, not far from the inn where Qin Longxuan resided.

Qin Chu was a person of dignity. Since he wasn't joining the Alchemist Guild, he wouldn't stay in the Alchemist Guild and enjoy the treatment of an official Alchemist Guild member.

Chu Shan went to the pavilion where Qin Chu had been staying. Seeing the empty pavilion, Chu Shan was momentarily stunned. He had clearly seen Qin Chu return, so why was he gone?

Chu Shan went to the pill room and asked Liu San, who had just finished his work.

“Alchemist Qin… Alchemist Qin finished Alchemy an hour ago. Didn't he go to rest in the back?” Liu San was also a bit puzzled.

Chu Shan shook his head, then went to the pavilion where Qin Chu had been staying and waited while drinking tea. But he waited until evening and still didn't see Qin Chu return.

“Senior Brother is still waiting. No need to wait anymore. He moved out of the Alchemist Guild. He is a person who values dignity greatly. Since he hasn't joined the Alchemist Guild, he naturally won't live in the Alchemist Guild and enjoy the treatment of an official Alchemist. He feels he is currently in trouble!” Yuan Qi said after entering the courtyard.

“That is indeed his character. If Junior Brother hadn't said anything, I would have thought it was because my attitude was not good during the day and he took offense,” Chu Shan said.

“This little fellow has a tenacious and strong character; he would rather break than bend. There are some things he would rather die than do. In the future, don't mention asking him to join the Alchemist Guild again. If you put too much pressure on him, he won't play with us anymore,” Yuan Qi said to Chu Shan. He was more skilled in human relations than Chu Shan.

Chu Shan nodded. After Yuan Qi's analysis, he also understood the reason.

In the evening, a cool breeze swept through Heavenly Sword City. Qin Chu left the inn and walked around Heavenly Sword City.

Suddenly, he felt a killing intent appear.

Qin Chu turned around and saw a woman in black, carrying a battle saber on her back.

“Are you Qin Chu?” the woman in black spoke.

“I am. Who are you?” Qin Chu asked.

“It's not important. You should still have Spirit Intent Grass on you. Hand over one, and I won't kill you!” The woman in black's voice was very cold.

Qin Chu turned around directly. He found it very boring. He felt that there were many people who had Spirit Intent Grass, but no one had ever come directly to him to demand it.

The woman in black flashed, blocking Qin Chu's path forward.

“Is your brain filled with water? It's a martial arts ban period now. Even if you want to rob, you have to wait until the martial arts ban period is over, okay? I really don't know how you, with this brain, have managed to live until now.” Qin Chu continued to stride forward. He had no interest in such matters.

“Even if I act against you now, no one would dare to do anything to me. But I want to see how you can hide once the martial arts ban period ends!” the woman in black said coldly.

Qin Chu was stunned for a moment. No one would dare to do anything to her even if she acted now. Was her background a bit too significant?
