Chapter 5: Shattering the New York sky with one punch

Chapter 5: One Punch Shatters New York's Sky

Hawk was stunned, looking at the ripped sky above Manhattan, revealing an infinitely dark firmament.

Above Manhattan, a ghostly blue light shot up into the sky, continuously firing into the gap in the firmament, as if opening up a Space.

The Space opened above seemed to have been violently torn open by an invisible hand, its edges constantly flickering with a ghostly blue light, crackling.

Hawk subconsciously cast his gaze on his right hand.

But…

The next second.

He reacted.

No.

This firmament was not torn by him, but by the Space Stone.

2012.

Chitauri invasion!

Hawk's mind stirred, thinking of the current timeline, and with a whoosh, his gaze returned to the ripped firmament.

Indeed.

As the Space Portal opened above Manhattan, Chitauri soldiers, like a metallic swarm of locusts, poured out through the Space Portal, as if being dumped.

Suddenly surged out!

The Chitauri soldiers who came to Earth from the Space Portal rode sleek, coldly gleaming single-person aircraft, their engines emitting a piercing, teeth-grinding hum, their bodies covered in dark alloy carapaces tightly encasing their inhuman forms.

Boom!

As the first Chitauri soldier pulled the trigger on their energy weapon, the glass curtain wall of a Manhattan skyscraper was instantly pierced and then exploded.

“Wala!”

“Attack!”

“Invasion, invasion!”

“Kill them!”

The swarming Chitauri soldiers let out excited roars, and after emerging from the wormhole, they quickly determined their respective missions.

Some Chitauri soldiers lowered their aircraft and flew towards the streets of Manhattan.

Other Chitauri soldiers raised their aircraft, and after confirming their attack direction in the air, they swept towards Brooklyn.

Of course.

Queens was also within the Chitauri soldiers' attack range.

“Holy shit!”

“What is that?”

“Alien invasion of Earth?”

“They’re coming our way!”

“Hiss!”

“God!”

“Run!”

“Ah!”

Similar to the chaotic mess Manhattan had become, the residents of Queens, upon seeing the Chitauri heading their way, firing energy weapons, wantonly piercing skyscrapers, igniting cars, and even killing civilians, let out piercing screams and scattered in what they believed to be safe directions.

The strange cries of the Chitauri soldiers.

The sound of shattering skyscrapers.

The burning sound of cars being shot and exploding.

The wails of killed civilians, and the frantic shouts of people fleeing in disarray—at this moment, the entire city of New York was plunged into extreme panic.

Standing on the rooftop, Hawk subconsciously turned to go back into the apartment.

But…

The moment he turned, he abruptly stopped, as if he had thought of something, and then turned back again to look at the sky, at the Chitauri soldiers, like a plague of locusts, roaring towards Queens.

A Chitauri soldier, currently in the sky, piloting an aircraft and roaring towards this direction, also saw Hawk standing on the rooftop.

After all, for invaders, what they liked most to see was the helpless screams and wails of the populace, attempting to escape their slaughter.

So, while everyone else was fleeing in panic, only Hawk stood there, motionless, making it hard not to notice him.

Their eyes met.

In Hawk’s azure blue eyes, a star seemed to twinkle.

“Human!”

The Chitauri soldier looked at Hawk, who was staring back, and its snake-like eyes, hidden beneath the dark alloy faceplate, seemed to receive a signal, breaking away from its squad and piloting its aircraft, swooping down towards Hawk on the rooftop.

Upon meeting, it was an energy blast.

Energy filled with destructive aura gathered at the front of the aircraft, instantly solidifying and aiming at Hawk before firing.

Hawk watched the energy blast rapidly expanding in his vision, his pupils contracting slightly.

Boom!

The energy blast slammed into the rooftop ground, instantly shattering it, making a loud noise and raising dust.

The Chitauri soldier watched Hawk, who had moved away the moment the energy blast landed, appearing on the other side unharmed, and without any expression, pulled the trigger again.

“Bang, bang, bang!”

“Boom, boom, boom!”

The apartment rooftop at this moment was like the end of the world, being subjected to a furious barrage of energy blasts by the Chitauri soldier.

Debris splattered.

Dust filled the sky.

Hawk’s figure constantly weaved through the dust, dodging the Chitauri soldier’s successive energy blasts.

His figure moved rapidly under the Chitauri soldier’s energy blasts.

At first, Hawk was a little flustered, but now he had calmed down and was moving with ease.

It only took him less than a minute.

Saint Seiya are born for war.

The Chitauri soldier fired continuously.

“Bang bang crack!”

With a crisp sound, the soldier, who had been continuously firing energy blasts, suddenly paused, then looked down at the aircraft whose clip was empty.

Just then.

The wind howled.

The Chitauri soldier looked up, and in his sight, a broken steel plate from a Water tank whistled out of the dust, and with a bang, it slammed into his aircraft.

The aircraft, hit by the broken Water tank steel plate, instantly swerved, and the Chitauri soldier sitting on it subconsciously flew off, but in an unfortunate misstep, directly fell from the aircraft.

“Thud!”

“Hiss!”

The Chitauri soldier, who had fallen onto the rooftop, quickly got up and drew the weapon from his back, which resembled a firearm but was also powered by a ghostly green energy source.

“Hiss hiss hiss!”

The Chitauri soldier made an indescribable sound, seemingly saying something, and also seemingly communicating with his own kind.

Although Hawk didn't quite understand what this Chitauri soldier was doing, he wasn't very concerned about it.

After all…

It’s a fight, be serious!

The apartment rooftop, after the Chitauri soldier’s frantic attack, was already shattered beyond recognition.

Although it hadn't collapsed yet, it was no different from collapsing.

More than half of the rooftop ground had collapsed, some even collapsing down to the third floor without losing momentum after the initial collapse, revealing the scene of the apartment’s third floor.

However, no one noticed what was happening on the rooftop.

New Yorkers may not be good at other things, but when it comes to self-preservation, no one understands it better than them.

After all, New Yorkers, who grew up amidst various shooting incidents and terrorist attacks, had long mastered the skill of running for their lives without looking back the moment danger arose.

The dust on the rooftop gradually dissipated.

Soon.

Hawk’s figure appeared.

The Chitauri soldier looked at Hawk, who appeared before him, a cold light flashing in his ghostly green eyes, and instantly pulled his trigger.

“Die!”

“…”
