Chapter 4: Planning and sudden return

Time quietly slipped away, and in a flash, another month had passed.

From initial confusion and incomprehension, Han Li had now completely let go.

Dr. Mo must not have lied; perhaps his last harvest was truly meager, only yielding some young Spirit Medicine plants, which is why he had to go out again to gather herbs.

This was good too; without him present, Han Li felt more at ease.

Cultivating Spirit Medicine while Cultivating his Cultivation Technique, his days passed quite pleasantly.

However, his Aptitude was truly too poor; after the fourth layer, his speed clearly began to slow down, and he feared it would take at least over a year to Breakthrough again. This was even with a sufficient supply of the two precious Spirit Pills, Yellow Dragon Pill and Golden Marrow Pill; otherwise, this time would be greatly extended.

This day, Han Li, as usual, entered Dr. Mo's study after finishing his Cultivation to continue reading his herb manuals.

It must be said that these herb manuals were all extremely valuable, and studying them brought great benefits. Moreover, secret Spirit Pills like the Yellow Dragon Pill, Golden Marrow Pill, Clear Spirit Powder, and even the poisonous water he refined were all obtained from them.

"Oh, what's this?"

As he flipped to a certain corner of the bookshelf, Han Li's gaze suddenly paused, as if he had discovered something.

Looking closely, it was a circular, button-sized, strange protrusion, like some kind of mechanism button.

His heart immediately filled with joy. He raised his hand and pressed down, hearing a soft click. The wooden panel slowly opened, revealing a slightly old book.

Han Li guessed what it was and immediately took out the book. On the cover were three large characters: "Chang Sheng Jing" (Classic of Longevity), the treasure Dr. Mo valued so highly.

He couldn't suppress the joy in his heart; he had guessed correctly. He had seen this book more than once, but he hadn't expected Dr. Mo to hide it here.

He eagerly flipped through it, but after only reading the beginning, he froze. Wasn't this the nameless Cultivation Technique he himself Cultivated? Moreover, the Cultivation Technique's name wasn't "Chang Sheng Jing" but "Changchun Gong."

Han Li couldn't help but fall into thought, feeling that there was something going on here. Unfortunately, with the information he currently possessed, he couldn't figure it out at all.

He continued to flip through until the very end, where his gaze paused again; the content at the back was missing and incomplete, seemingly torn off on purpose.

However, to his surprise, when he flipped to the very end, a page suddenly fell out.

Han Li was a bit surprised. He picked up the paper and began to examine it. It turned out to be a medicinal formula, recording a top-grade precious Spirit Pill called 'Qing Ling Dan' (Green Spirit Pill), which had great benefits for Cultivation.

Han Li's heart immediately filled with joy, not expecting such a harvest. The previous Yellow Dragon Pill and Golden Marrow Pill were already precious enough, and now that he had also obtained the Green Spirit Pill, his Cultivation would certainly advance another level.

He examined the contents of the medicinal formula and found that the main Spirit Medicine for the Green Spirit Pill was a Spirit Medicine called Green Jade Fruit, which needed to be at least thirty years old. The other auxiliary herbs were common, just ordinary medicinal ingredients.

"Green Jade Fruit, aren't those the young plants Dr. Mo transplanted back earlier?"

Han Li suddenly realized that the other party probably wanted to refine the Green Spirit Pill, but unfortunately, he hadn't found suitable main Spirit Medicine and only managed to get some young plants of low age.

"However, that's for others; I'm completely unaffected."

After copying the medicinal formula, Han Li no longer hesitated. He put the Cultivation Technique back, and after everything was restored to its original state, he immediately turned and left.

...

"It's been over a month, what exactly do you mean?"

In a secluded spot in Divine Hand Valley.

At this moment, Mo Juren was sitting there cross-legged, resting with his eyes closed, occasionally opening them to scan a certain direction before closing them again to continue resting.

This situation had continued for over a month, and Yu Zitong simply couldn't stand it anymore. He felt that the other party was becoming increasingly strange, always doing things that left people baffled.

It was precisely this strangeness that made him irritable, giving him a feeling of being out of control, which was very awkward and uncomfortable.

"What do you know? Before, I was too eager, which made that kid's guard grow stronger and stronger. If I push him too hard again and he develops rebellious thoughts, deliberately not Cultivating, then what?" Mo Juren gave a reason that was a bit far-fetched but not without some truth.

"What if he's on guard? Are you afraid of him? If that doesn't work, you can threaten his family. I don't believe he won't comply."

...

Hearing Yu Zitong's suggestion, Mo Juren was speechless to the extreme.

How could this guy be so brain-dead? Was Han Li the kind of person who would easily compromise? And threatening his family? It would be a fight to the death anyway. At that point, why would he listen to you?

After Yu Zitong finished speaking, he also regretted it a little. His idea was indeed not very suitable, but it was the only solution he could think of.

"Even if you don't force him, there's no need to leave. And you didn't take out those precious Spirit Medicines you collected last time. What exactly do you want to do?"

"I naturally have my own ideas; you don't need to worry about it." Knowing the other party's confusion, Mo Juren didn't want to explain. He didn't even bother to say much, giving a perfunctory reply, then immediately closed his eyes again to rest.

This answer was clearly not what Yu Zitong wanted, and his heart was filled with extreme anger. Unfortunately, he had no way to deal with the other party and could only stew in his own anger.

Thus, they remained in a stalemate for several more days.

On this day, as the sun set and the moon rose, and night descended, the long-silent Mo Juren finally moved.

Ignoring Yu Zitong's questions, he summoned Iron Slave, then headed straight forward, to where the medicinal garden was located.

Before he even got close, a rich medicinal fragrance wafted over. With his many years of experience, he could tell that this was a level of fragrance that only high-aged Spirit Medicine could emit.

A hint of anticipation appeared in his eyes. He hoped his preparations had been effective.

A moment later, he finally entered the garden, his gaze going directly to a certain area. There, more than a dozen green Spirit Medicine plants were growing vigorously, and each one had produced fruit.

These Spirit Medicines were none other than the Green Jade Fruit he had brought back last time. Judging by their growth, they were at least fifty years old.

"How is this possible? Weren't these the young plants you brought back? How did they grow so fast?" Yu Zitong's voice once again entered his mind, clearly startled.

The joy in Mo Juren's eyes grew even stronger. He directly bent down and plucked one, but didn't touch the rest. Immediately after, he strode towards his room.

As for Yu Zitong's surprise, he had no intention of explaining at all.

When he reached the door of his room, his gaze suddenly swept towards the mountain wall not far away. Then, he deliberately pushed hard, and with a loud bang, the door swung open.

Such a commotion naturally couldn't be hidden from a certain person. Sure enough, there was movement from the stone house by the mountain wall. The door slowly opened, and a figure rushed out.

"Old Mo..."

A cry of surprise rang out. It was none other than Han Li, who had just heard the noise and come out to investigate.

The moment he saw Mo Juren, his heart immediately skipped a beat. Why had the other party suddenly returned? And in the dead of night?

And the medicinal garden, where he had Cultivated Spirit Medicine that hadn't been harvested yet. It would be troublesome if it was discovered.

Thinking of this, his heart grew even more anxious.
