Chapter 11: There are also experts

After speaking, Weilan turned and left. This time, he finally got rid of the House of Malfoy.

At the end of the corridor on the east side of the first floor, Weilan was not in a hurry to return to his private box.

He turned and entered the restroom at the end of the corridor's fork.

This was the only restroom on the first floor of the east side of the stadium. Although the match was in full swing, there were still a few spectators in the restroom, attending to their urgent needs.

Weilan entered a cubicle, and after locking the bolt, he finally found a small sanctuary of his own.

He sat on the toilet, covering his left eye, and pondered the panel in his right eye's field of vision.

Experience Level: 1 (2 / 20)

Weilan believed he had seen through the entire process of the murderer's crime, except for finding the true culprit.

But his experience hadn't increased? Not at all?

In the Mr. Malfoy's purse theft incident, he had only pointed out the method of the crime, and had not found the real culprit manipulating the rats, yet he had gained five experience points.

Why was it not working this time?

Was the logical chain not complete enough?

Weilan thought this, and slowly replayed the deduction in his mind, which he had not told Narcissa.

He believed that a small, unexpected situation must have occurred during the murderer's actual execution of the plan.

Weilan admitted that he had guessed some parts, but… wouldn't a House of Malfoy purse appearing at the crime scene be far more reasonable than an ancestral ring?

It could both echo Peter's confession that Mr. Malfoy hired a killer, and make the traces of the setup and framing less obvious.

And as for the House of Malfoy purse… oh, what a coincidence, Little Malfoy just happened to lose one before the match started.

Now that he thought about it, was it really a coincidence? If it was truly a thief driven by greed, why was not a single Galleon missing from the purse?

Therefore, Weilan speculated that Little Malfoy finding the purse with him had, to some extent, disrupted the murderer's plan.

So the true mastermind had no choice but to settle for the next best thing and activate Plan B.

He, she, or they, threw the second item that could replace the purse and signify Malfoy's identity—the ancestral ring—to the crime scene, barely completing the framing.

After thinking through the above logic, Weilan checked the panel in his right eye's field of vision again.

Experience Level: 1 (2 / 20)

Still no progress?!

Could it be that…

There's still a twist? Another master?

Weilan's head began to ache slightly.

Just then, the entire stadium suddenly erupted in overwhelming cheers, making Weilan instinctively think that something else had gone wrong.

The commentator's voice was mixed in, barely concealing his excitement:

“He caught it! The Irish Seeker caught the Golden Snitch! Let us congratulate the Ireland National Team for completing a desperate comeback and winning the World Cup!”

The excited cheers and shouts of the spectators, along with the earth-shattering music, crashed in like a tsunami.

Weilan realized that the match was about to end, and after the awards ceremony and acknowledgements, the spectators would leave the stadium.

Therefore, Weilan was running out of time.

Weilan sat on the toilet and thought for a while, realizing that his deduction could not explain all the current doubts.

The first doubt: After the thief stole the Malfoy purse, why did he insist on placing it on Weilan's trolley, even if it meant making the rat's claws bleed?

The second doubt: If Rowan had no opportunity to be given a love potion, then how to explain his abnormal behavior before the match? Did the murderer just trust that Rowan would definitely be knocked out?

The third doubt: If they had a grudge against the House of Malfoy, why not choose direct assassination, but instead go to such lengths to frame Mr. Malfoy into Azkaban?

Weilan thought it over and over and concluded that there was only one reasonable explanation for the first doubt:

If the purse theft was meant to frame Mr. Malfoy for Rowan's death, then the murderer placing the purse on Weilan's trolley could only mean that they also wanted to drag Weilan into this bottomless whirlpool!

Unconsciously, fine cold sweat seeped from Weilan's forehead.

He sat on the toilet, reflecting on his fourteen years since transmigrating.

As a helpless orphan, Weilan had always adhered to the principle of caution in everything he did.

Although after entering Hogwarts, he didn't know the reason why he was sorted into Gryffindor.

But Weilan never acted rashly or ostentatiously. The only time he couldn't bear it anymore and took action was when Malfoy bullied him too much.

He really couldn't understand what a plain, ordinary Wizard like him could have…

No!

Weilan Costa was not a plain, ordinary Wizard!

He was a transmigrator, a traveler from another world, and three days ago, his right eye awakened a special ability.

Just this alone would attract the interest of countless legendary Wizards and mysterious forces.

When he considered this, Weilan's sense of crisis began to surge rapidly.

With a sudden jerk, he stood up from the toilet.

It's better to believe it than not!

If Weilan were to extricate himself from this case now, then without the clues and information provided by the Auror, Weilan would be in an even more passive position when facing an evil Wizard who might have designs on him!

Weilan could no longer stand by and watch! The murderer's motive must be re-examined!

Outside the cubicle, the sound of shuffling footsteps gradually increased, and noisy spectators continuously poured into the restroom.

Sensing more and more people waiting for the restroom outside the cubicle, Weilan unlocked the door, stepped out, and yielded the toilet to the urgent spectators.

Outside the cubicle, a father was waiting for the restroom with his son.

“Dad, why doesn't the toilet here smell? Grandma's toilet in the countryside smells so bad~ Even Grandma's daily use of magic to clear the smell doesn't work!”

Weilan, who was washing his hands, heard this innocent question and heard the father's patient reply:

“Honey, if you look up at the fan blades in that spot, you'll understand.”

“That thing is called a ventilation duct. It can blow out the bad smell and blow in fresh air.”

The boy said with a slightly disgusted tone: “But that fan is so dirty.”

The father continued to explain:

“That's how ventilation ducts are. Because there are many suspended dirty things in the circulating air, and the ventilation duct is high up and difficult to clean, it's often dirty.”

Following his father's finger, Weilan and the boy both looked at the ventilation duct opening below the ceiling of the men's restroom.

That ventilation duct opening was right next to the ceiling, about nine feet above the floor.

The dirty fan blades were covered in dust, tirelessly rotating at a constant speed. At the junction of the fan frame and the wall, faint grayish-white spiderwebs could still be clearly seen adhering.

Weilan's eyes widened.

He remembered that Peter had mentioned in his confession that he had entered the ventilation duct from the only men's restroom on the first floor of the East Wing and groped his way to the lounge.

But why was there no trace left on the ventilation duct of this men's restroom?

The dust on the surface of the fan blades was evenly spread, without even the slightest trace of being touched or rubbed.

The spiderwebs on the edge of the fan frame were intact, with no signs of being torn.

Peter lied. Why did he lie about such a small detail?

Weilan thought about this as he quickened his steps to leave the restroom.

Weilan saw Narcissa and Malfoy again outside the interrogation room.

Their figures stood in the distance under the streetlights, casting two long shadows.

When Weilan looked their way, Narcissa's graceful figure seemed to pause.

But as Weilan lowered his head and quickly entered the interrogation room, her recently raised head drooped again.

Only James and Black were in the interrogation room.

At this time, the Aurors had left, busy with their respective duties.

The interrogation room only had James and Black, and no one was guarding it. So Weilan easily pushed the door open.

When he entered, James was angry, seemingly because of Peter's swift dispatch to Azkaban.
