Naisade scrambled back to shore, his backside bleeding from three 20-centimeter long black stings embedded in the wound.
“Hiss!”
He endured the pain to pull out the stings, and black blood flowed from the wounds. Clearly, the stings were venomous, and Naisade was deeply poisoned.
Naisade felt his vision blurring and his head growing heavy, as the intense pain in his wounds turned numb.
No, he had to suck out the venom.
Fortunately, Naisade was a Dragon Beast, and his long neck allowed him to suck out the venom himself.
At this point, he couldn't care about Dragon dignity!
Naisade opened his gaping maw, bit his left buttock, and sucked hard!
He sucked too hard and accidentally swallowed the venomous blood.
“Damn it!”
Before falling unconscious, Naisade cursed loudly, then his legs kicked out, and he went stiff.
When he woke up again, two days had passed.
Although he was still a bit numb all over, he had finally recovered.
Naisade grew increasingly angry thinking about how the future Exotic Beast Dragon God had almost died at the hands of a venomous fish.
Disregarding his incomplete recovery, he tugged at the vine, finding that there was still a strong pull from the other end.
“Good, you didn’t run. Watch how I deal with you!”
Naisade ran to the upstream of the lotus pond, brought large rocks and shrubs to block the water flowing down from upstream, and then dug an outlet downstream.
“Should I indulge it? I must drain the water!”
While waiting for the pond to dry, Naisade wasn't idle. He took out the stings he had pulled from his backside, found wooden sticks and vines.
He assembled them into three long spears.
So, why would Naisade, with his sharp and tough Dragon Claws, bother making such spears?
It was because the creature in the river had taught him a lesson: this world was too dangerous. If you can ambush, don't engage in a direct frontal assault. If you can use poison, don't resort to melee.
It was a good thing he had eaten some plants that enhanced poison resistance.
Otherwise, if he had died, he didn't know if he would have another chance to transmigrate.
From then on, Naisade's adventure in this Different World was set with a core principle: 'If you can lie low, lie low.'
I have a system cheat; living will eventually make me invincible!
Naisade ate fish to recover his strength, while glaring menacingly at the drying pond.
The pond wasn't large; after about a day of draining, most of it was now just mud.
And the creature that had stung Naisade’s backside with three stings was gradually emerging from the water.
Fish are strong in water, but once the water is drained, it's Naisade's home turf.
Naisade grinned, using a vine to drag the creature towards the riverbed. Without water, its struggles were futile.
Naisade easily pulled it ashore. Upon closer inspection, it was a two-meter-long, pitch-black catfish.
The catfish's back was covered with dozens of black spines. Normally, if any fish or other predators approached, it would use its back to injure the enemy.
“Oh, why aren’t you so arrogant now?”
Naisade's face was filled with smug satisfaction.
The catfish glanced at the Dragon Beast in front of it, then suddenly arched its back and sprang, its stings erect, aiming directly for Naisade’s kidney.
“Holy crap!”
Naisade immediately dove, falling into the mud of the pond.
“Damn it!”
His backside was one thing, but if his kidney was pierced and necrotized, leading to lifelong kidney deficiency, what then?
Even as a Dragon Beast, he wanted to be a Dragon Beast with a harem in this otherworld!
Naisade's anger flared, and malice surged within him.
Naisade picked up a half-meter-diameter log and slammed it down on the catfish’s head.
The catfish cried out in pain and tried to resist, but Naisade immediately brought down another blow.
“Heheheh, die, die! Eh heh heh!”
Thus, a bizarre and terrifying scene unfolded deep within the Naisade Swamp.
A Dragon Beast stood on two legs, swinging a log in its hand, laughing maniacally as it beat a catfish, emitting villainous laughter as it struck.
“Ha… ha… ha…”
Naisade panted heavily. He hadn't expected this catfish to be so tough; the log had broken, yet it still wasn't dead, occasionally twitching twice.
“Forget it, Old Master Naisade can’t bear to see suffering, so I’ll give you a quick end.”
If anyone were observing, they would surely curse the Dragon Beast before them as despicable and shameless. The catfish was practically beaten to a pulp, and he claimed he couldn't bear to see suffering?
Naisade gave a wicked smile and drew the fish-bone spear from his waist.
“I’m making grilled fish anyway, so I’ll just skewer you. You gave me fish bones, so I should return the favor, shouldn’t I?”
He aimed for the catfish’s posterior, his arm muscles bulging, focusing on a mighty blow for a miraculous result.
Pffft!
The catfish rolled its eyes and died.
Vengeance achieved, how delightful!
He carried the large catfish back to the cave and began to roast it over the bonfire.
During this time, he also took out some plants from his pitcher plant backpack. Some of these plants tasted spicy, while others tasted sour.
He used them as seasoning for the grilled fish, sprinkling them over it.
Oh, that little flavor just popped right up!
As soon as it was cooked, before it even had a chance to cool, Naisade devoured it frantically, quickly consuming the two-meter-long, hundreds-of-kilograms catfish.
“Devoured ‘Venomous Sting Giant Catfish,’ gained talent ‘Toxic Bone Spurs’.”
The next second, the bone sprouts on Naisade’s joints and spine began to sharpen, forming bone spurs.
The originally white bone spurs started to show black patterns.
He checked this talent skill: the bone spurs on his body would contain toxins, and these toxins would be directly proportional to his own antitoxic resistance.
In other words, the more poisonous demonic beasts he devoured, the higher his poison resistance, and the higher his poison resistance, the more toxic the bone spurs on his body would become.
“Good, good, it wasn’t in vain that I went to such great lengths. It seems you, Giant Catfish, died a worthy death!”
This was a rather excellent skill, practically a must-have for adventurous journeys and assassinations!
Naisade let out a satisfied burp. He prepared to have a good sleep by the warm bonfire.
