Chapter 8: Won the mobile red flag

The day's training quickly ended.

After dinner, everyone returned to the dormitory to rest.

Lin Hui came up to Xu Da, smiling as he spoke.

"Squad Leader."

"What is it?"

Xu Da looked up without smiling.

Although this kid had only been here for two days, Xu Da's attitude towards him had already changed significantly.

Lin Hui said with a smile, "Squad Leader, I heard that in our Military Region, we have regulations and rules to memorize, right?"

"Heh, you kid, you really know a lot." Xu Da said in surprise, laughing.

Lin Hui bluffed, "My Uncle used to be a Soldier. Before I came in, he told me some things about the Military Region, and he specifically emphasized the regulations and rules. So I was thinking, since there's nothing else to do before bed anyway, why don't we memorize the regulations and rules while folding our quilts?"

Xu Da burst out laughing. This kid was indeed on the right track, he even knew how to plan his time efficiently.

"You do indeed have to memorize the regulations and rules. Wait, I'll go get them for you now, one copy for each person."

With that, he happily turned and left the dormitory.

Wang Yong threw his quilt onto the bed and said, full of displeasure, "Lin Hui, you're just looking for trouble. Everyone is already tired enough from folding quilts, why memorize some broken regulations?"

"You don't know anything!"

Lin Hui snorted, "The regulations and rules are something every Soldier must memorize. What if a Leader comes to randomly inspect one day and you can't recite them? That would be terrible."

"Furthermore, everything a Soldier can or cannot do is written clearly in there. Memorizing them will also be beneficial for everyone."

Wang Yong rolled his eyes, "You say it like it's true, who knows if it really is?"

"I believe him, Big Brother is always right!" Chen Erhu was like a little fanboy.

Everyone else also expressed their support for Lin Hui.

If it weren't for Lin Hui teaching them how to fold quilts and telling them some of the Military Region's rules, they wouldn't know how severely they would have been punished by now.

Just then, a loud roar suddenly came from outside.

Ma Xiaoshan, who looked like a black Monkey, ran out curiously.

When he came back, his whole face was pale with fear.

"What happened, what happened?"

Everyone immediately gathered around him curiously.

Ma Xiaoshan said with lingering fear, "Second Platoon and Third Platoon are practicing the moves from earlier today. Everyone is being punished by standing on stools, and the Squad Leader is so fierce he looks like he's going to eat people. It seems like they're practicing upstairs too, it's too miserable."

Everyone swallowed nervously in fear.

It seemed that the entire New Recruit Company, except for their First Platoon, were all doing extra training.

Chen Erhu almost kowtowed to Lin Hui, "Oh my Mom, thankfully we listened to Big Brother, otherwise none of us would have escaped this time."

The others quickly nodded, "Yes, yes, yes, thanks to Lin Hui! We will all memorize those regulations and rules properly. If Lin Hui says they are useful, they must be useful!"

Wang Yong couldn't help but scoff, habitually rolling his eyes.

He didn't know why.

The more popular Lin Hui became, the more he disliked the guy.

Even though he knew what was being said might be correct, he just wanted to argue with him.

Soon, Xu Da brought the regulations and rules, one copy for each person.

Upon receiving them, everyone immediately began to read carefully.

Each person lowered their head, wishing they could press their eyeballs onto the text to read.

They had never been this serious when they were in school.

Xu Da watched from the side with a happy expression, his gaze falling on Lin Hui.

This Soldier was truly excellent, completely setting an example.

With him around, not only was he himself much more relaxed, but the entire platoon's learning progress was also much faster than others.

He might not even need to wait until the New Recruit Company ended to receive a commendation early.

In the following days.

Everyone in First Platoon treated Lin Hui as their backbone.

No matter what, they took him as their standard.

Even when eating, sleeping, or going to the restroom, they looked to him.

Lin Hui was also tirelessly brainwashing them day after day: "As long as we are meticulous in everything and follow the rules, the Squad Leader will absolutely not find an excuse to punish us!"

However, First Platoon's outstanding performance made it tough for the other platoons.

They had to do extra punishments and training almost every night.

The Soldiers in First Platoon saw this and felt smug inside: Thankfully we have Lin Hui, otherwise how could we have such a good life?

However, this also motivated them to train even harder to prevent being surpassed by other platoons.

Soon, a week passed.

First Platoon's learning progress was significantly faster than the other platoons.

Not only was their internal affairs organization outstanding, but their standing at attention and marching in step were also excellent. They had already begun to look like proper Soldiers.

Even Xu Da was called into the Instructor Wang Hai's office and praised profusely.

He was absolutely beaming with pride.

Early this morning, First Platoon was organizing their internal affairs in the dormitory.

Instructor Wang Hai suddenly walked in with some people.

"Attention!"

Xu Da roared, and everyone quickly stood at attention and saluted: "Hello, Instructor!"

Wang Hai waved his hand and said with a smile, "Don't be nervous, everyone, put your hands down. We've seen your performance during this period. First Platoon Leader has done well, and everyone's performance is also outstanding. Especially your internal affairs, you've left the other platoons far behind."

After speaking, he nodded towards the person behind him.

A Soldier immediately stepped forward, holding a small red triangular flag with both hands.

Xu Da's face was filled with excitement, but Lin Hui's expression instantly changed.

Holy crap! The Mobile Red Flag!

In the Company, there was a weekly competition among the platoons to evaluate internal affairs.

And the Mobile Red Flag could only be obtained by the platoon with the best internal affairs.

This represented honor.

Especially at the end of the year, the platoon that received the most Mobile Red Flags had the most glory.

Lin Hui inwardly cried out, "This is bad, this is bad! Things are getting more and more out of control. I clearly just wanted not to get punished, how did I accidentally get the Mobile Red Flag?"

Wang Hai smiled and handed the flag to Xu Da, praising, "The Mobile Red Flag symbolizes honor. Being able to obtain this flag shows that your efforts and hard work during this period were not in vain."

"I hope you can continue to work hard and maintain this!"

"Yes!"

Xu Da nodded excitedly.

In the corridor, the other Squad Leaders' eyes were red with envy.

But thinking of the useless Soldiers in their own platoons, they immediately became furious.

They had to severely discipline these kids, otherwise, after a while, they wouldn't even see the shadow of First Platoon.

Wang Hai turned his head and looked at the Squad Leaders outside, "Don't just watch, learn more from First Platoon and get some tips!"

"Yes, Instructor."

Seeing the other Squad Leaders' envious and red eyes, Xu Da held his head high, like a proud rooster.

He hung the Mobile Red Flag on the wall and said sternly to everyone, "Continue to work hard and maintain this. Quick, keep folding your quilts, strive to fold them even better, and absolutely do not let the other platoons catch up."

Lin Hui turned around and stared blankly at the quilt in front of him.

It's over, the Squad Leader seems to be getting carried away.

He originally just wanted to maintain a decent standard, something acceptable so he wouldn't get punished.

But as soon as the Mobile Red Flag was presented, the Squad Leader became like a chicken injected with stimulants, showing no intention of stopping. Instead, he wanted them to go all out and keep pushing forward.

Who the hell could stand this?

First Platoon's current situation had already exceeded Lin Hui's expectations, and they absolutely couldn't push any further.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have a single peaceful day in the future.

Lin Hui's eyes darted around, and he thought to himself, "It seems I need to change my approach..."
