Chapter 8: Ninja Training

"Ninjutsu: Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique!"

Rin threw a kunai, then immediately made hand signs. The kunai flying in the air instantly multiplied into dozens, clattering as they embedded themselves in the wooden target ahead.

"Yay! Mitsuki, I succeeded!"

This was a small grove located on the outskirts of Konoha's Eighth Training Ground, a good spot Mitsuki had found after scanning several circles around Konoha with his Six Eyes.

Few people set foot here, and there was a small river nearby. It was truly an excellent place for a rendezvous between a man and a woman (crossed out), and an ideal location for Ninja training.

Mitsuki walked to the target where Rin had just thrown the kunai and nodded in satisfaction, looking at the depth of the kunai's penetration.

"The force is acceptable, and the quantity is also good. Congratulations, Rin, you have completely mastered this Ninjutsu."

So, what kind of training mission should he set for Rin next? Mitsuki began to ponder.

Since Rin joined Mitsuki's training, she had successively learned basic Chakra control exercises like tree climbing and water walking.

In terms of Ninjutsu, Mitsuki had also taught Rin the Shadow Clone Technique and the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique.

Even compared to other Family Ninja of her generation, Rin was now astonishingly strong and could already be called a Genius.

Well, although the title of Genius was a relatively cheap one in the Naruto World.

As Mitsuki pondered, Rin, hearing his praise, blushed slightly. With her hands behind her back, she tapped her toes on the ground and said,

"Hehe, this is all your credit, Mitsuki."

In fact, it was true. Although Rin's Chakra control ability was not bad, achieving such strength at this age was not something that could be accomplished by effort alone.

While effort was important, what was more crucial was that Mitsuki had given Rin a little boost. One must know that Mitsuki's Six Eyes granted him extremely precise Chakra control ability.

When Mitsuki made contact with others, as long as the other party did not resist, he could enter their body and control their Chakra circulation.

Rin naturally would not refuse Mitsuki's entry. Therefore, Mitsuki could completely guide and control the Chakra within Rin's body while maintaining contact with her, greatly accelerating her learning speed.

Returning to the main topic, Rin's Innate Chakra affinities were Fire and Water. Fire Release was fine; there were many Fire Release Ninjutsu in the Ninjutsu secret scrolls Kento left behind, and Mitsuki himself had a Fire affinity, so teaching Rin was no problem.

But for Water Release, Mitsuki thought for a while but couldn't think of any current channels to obtain good Water Release Ninjutsu. In any case, he would start with Fire Release.

"Rin, there are even more difficult training missions ahead, so don't be too satisfied with your current achievements."

"Okay, I understand, Teacher Mitsuki!"

"Excellent, little student Rin, then your next stage of training will be..."

As he spoke, Mitsuki plucked a leaf from a nearby tree, then held it between two fingers. Suddenly, a flame appeared and quickly burned the leaf to ashes.

"Just like that."

"What~"

Rin blinked her big, round eyes, exclaiming in surprise, then immediately asked humbly,

"Mitsuki, how did you do that? You didn't make any hand signs, yet the leaf burned by itself? I'm very curious!"

Oh no, oh no, this is too cute. Even after spending so much time together, Mitsuki was still somewhat immune to Rin's unintentional cuteness.

"Cough..."

Mitsuki lightly coughed, straightened his face, and began Teacher Mitsuki's little classroom session.

"This is called Chakra Nature Transformation, an Advanced technique for using Chakra. Even a Jonin may not fully grasp its essence."

"That's amazing!" In terms of emotional value, Rin never disappointed.

"When you learn to skillfully use Chakra Nature Transformation techniques, you can incorporate them into your Ninjutsu, just like this." Mitsuki was a practical person; he believed that no amount of theory was as clear and understandable as seeing it with one's own eyes.

Mitsuki pulled out a kunai from the Ninja tool pouch Rin had given him. To help Rin see more clearly, he slowed down his movements.

He made hand signs, exhaled a stream of fire from his mouth, and then threw the kunai.

It wasn't over yet. Mitsuki again used the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique, and the flame-infused kunai instantly split into more than a dozen.

"Boom!"

After hitting the target, the flaming kunai not only didn't stop but caused a chain of small flame explosions.

"This is Fire Release: Phoenix Flower Claw Crimson, with Chakra Nature Transformation added."

"Ordinary Phoenix Flower Claw Crimson can only attach flames to the kunai, slightly increasing its attack range and damage, but it cannot trigger an explosion again after hitting the target."

Actually, Mitsuki could have created many more kunai Clones, but since it was just a demonstration, there was no need to go to that extent.

"Then why not just throw multiple kunai directly? That way, you wouldn't need to release the subsequent Shuriken Shadow Clones, the enemy would have less reaction time, and it would save a lot of Chakra, right?" Rin was good at thinking and raised her question after Mitsuki's demonstration.

"That's true, but Chakra Nature Transformation is a very precise technique. Just attaching it to one kunai is already quite difficult. Using the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique afterward can greatly reduce the difficulty of the Ninjutsu. This is also a clever compound Ninjutsu."

"Moreover, there's a limit to the number of kunai you can throw yourself. Once Rin's Chakra reserves increase later, using the Shuriken Shadow Clone will greatly enhance the power of this Ninjutsu, truly unleashing the might of such a compound Ninjutsu."

The cunning Mitsuki had long anticipated Rin's question, so he recited his prepared answer.

But there was actually another reason Mitsuki didn't mention, and that was that kunai were too expensive, especially during wartime.

One must know that these kunai, infused with Fire-attribute Chakra, would lose their lethality after one use, their tips burned blunt.

For regular training, it was fine; they could be recycled and reused. But on the battlefield, if he didn't use the Shuriken Shadow Clone, he would just throw a large number of them.

It was very convenient, but he wasn't a rich woman like Tenten; he really couldn't afford such tactics.

In the manga, the effect of the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique varied among different users, aside from the carrier, with some using Fuma Shuriken and others using kunai.

This Ninjutsu, which appeared quite often in the manga, can be divided into two categories: one is the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique used by others, and the other is the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique used by Minato Namikaze.

The Shuriken Shadow Clone used by Minato Namikaze in the Roran movie had immense destructive power. If others' Ninjutsu were small pistols, then Minato Namikaze's was a floating cannon.

So Mitsuki speculated that Minato Namikaze must have incorporated Wind-attribute Chakra Nature Transformation into the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique, which caused such a significant difference between his Shuriken Shadow Clone and others'.

Thus, Mitsuki began to research the effects of different attribute Chakras attached to kunai, and he actually achieved results. Different Chakra attachments had compatibility with the carrier.

As mentioned earlier, Mitsuki's Innate Chakra affinities were Fire, Wind, and Lightning. Fire-attribute Chakra, for example, was more suitable for attaching to kunai with a larger surface area.

Wind and Lightning-attribute Chakra, on the other hand, were suitable for attaching to kunai and senbon respectively. It must be said that Mitsuki did have some research talent.
