Chapter 15: necklace

After receiving Uchiha Yakoto's affirmative reply, Hiruzen Sarutobi looked back at Tsunade.

"You should also pay a little more attention to Yakoto and the others; the Chunin Exams in about half a year will be the first Chunin Exams since the war ended."

"The Daimyo of each country attaches great importance to this."

"I understand," Tsunade nodded helplessly.

After briefly promoting the will of fire to Uchiha Yakoto, Hiruzen Sarutobi left, feeling satisfied.

While Hiruzen Sarutobi was diligently promoting, Tsunade did not say much, but silently poured herself drink after drink.

Ever since Nawaki died on the battlefield, Tsunade no longer held even a shred of reverence for the will of fire that Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke of.

The one thing Tsunade found most incomprehensible about the will of fire was that, despite being a will to burn old leaves to protect new ones, it sent a group of children to the battlefield.

It sent Nawaki, who was only twelve years old, to the battlefield.

Now, whenever Hiruzen Sarutobi mentioned the so-called will of fire, Tsunade's mind was filled with the fragmented body of Nawaki, blown apart by explosive tags.

After Hiruzen Sarutobi left, only Tsunade and Uchiha Yakoto remained in the room.

Tsunade put down her wine glass, her gaze falling on Yakoto, her eyes faintly shimmering with tears.

"The so-called will of fire, just listen to it, there's no need to take it too seriously."

"I will arrange special training for you all tomorrow. I have already notified the others, so remember to come to the training ground tomorrow afternoon."

With that, Tsunade said no more, but silently drank glass after glass of sake.

Life in Konoha made Tsunade feel exhausted; she had had enough of endless arguments and quarrels with those scoundrels.

Now, Tsunade had completely washed her hands of the medical department.

Tsunade had already prepared to leave Konoha alone and travel the Ninja World immediately after the three little ones passed the Chunin Exams.

Clearly sensing Tsunade's inner sadness, Uchiha Yakoto also said nothing, but silently ate his grilled meat, occasionally picking two slices for Tsunade's bowl... I shouldn't pity this damn woman!

Tsunade hadn't been immersed in sadness for long before she let loose under the influence of alcohol.

She ran to the next door, causing a drunken ruckus, challenging everyone she saw to arm wrestling and then forcing them to drink. She was Tsunade, after all; who could beat her in arm wrestling?

The result was that Tsunade went around forcing drinks on everyone, force-feeding them if they refused, and she didn't even spare the underage Uchiha Yakoto.

She forcibly pried open his mouth and poured a bottle of beer down his throat.

It was no less than directly pushing Uchiha Yakoto's head into water, causing Uchiha Yakoto to cough violently for a while.

Then Tsunade burst into laughter, and Uchiha Yakoto now seriously suspected that this old woman was doing it on purpose.

Now Uchiha Yakoto's chest and hair were almost completely wet, while Tsunade was still acting crazy by his side.

I can't take it, I really can't take it.

In the end, it was Uchiha Yakoto who paid the bill and, with great effort, dragged Tsunade out of the shop.

If I ever go out to eat alone with Tsunade again, I'm a dog!

Uchiha Yakoto dragged Tsunade back, constantly grumbling in his mind along the way.

Suddenly, Tsunade swayed, leaning her whole body against Uchiha Yakoto, and then she threw up with a 'wah' sound.

The alcohol and vomit mixed together, almost covering Uchiha Yakoto entirely.

Uchiha Yakoto looked disgusted, yet helpless.

He could only first help Tsunade to sit by the roadside, and then used Water Release to clean the filth from his body.

"You troublesome old woman."

After throwing up, a hint of clarity gradually emerged in Tsunade's eyes, and she became slightly more sober.

Looking at Uchiha Yakoto in front of her, Tsunade softly called out.

"Yakoto, come a little closer."

"What do you want?" Uchiha Yakoto said somewhat grumpily, knowing that nothing good ever came from being with this old woman.

Although he looked displeased on the surface, Uchiha Yakoto still put his head forward, despite his words.

Looking at Uchiha Yakoto's face, which was so close, Tsunade slowly took off the necklace from her neck and tied it around Uchiha Yakoto's neck.

"I heard that after taking on a Disciple, teachers are supposed to give them something."

"You and I are not on the same path; there's nothing I can teach you."

At this point, Tsunade looked with great fondness at the necklace that was now around Uchiha Yakoto's neck.

"This is something my great-grandfather left me, and it's the most precious thing I own."

"I hope you will cherish it well."

Uchiha Yakoto was slightly stunned, his fingers gently touching the necklace, a complex emotion rising in his heart.

He never expected that this necklace from Naruto, which seemed to bring death to anyone who touched it besides the protagonist, would end up in his hands.

He wondered if his life was strong enough to withstand its curse.

"Alright, you go ahead. I want to be alone for a while," Tsunade patted Uchiha Yakoto's shoulder and waved her hand, signaling that he could leave.

Hearing Tsunade's words, Uchiha Yakoto did not say much, nodded, and turned to leave.

After Uchiha Yakoto left, Tsunade sat alone by the roadside.

Her eyes were somewhat vacant as she gazed at the sky, memories like smoke gradually surfacing in her mind; this necklace carried too many recollections.

Now that she had given it to Uchiha Yakoto, Tsunade felt a sense of relief... Time quickly passed.

When Uchiha Yakoto arrived at the training ground the next afternoon, he was surprised to see Lady Tsunade waiting for them there early.

Hyuga Kana had always disliked making others wait for her, so she always arrived very early.

Shizune, having just finished lunch with Tsunade that day, also arrived relatively early due to Tsunade's rare whim.

This time, Uchiha Yakoto was the last to arrive.

Since Tsunade and Shizune arrived early, Tsunade had already arranged Shizune's training content.

In Tsunade's three-person squad, Uchiha Yakoto and Hyuga Kana were both from Ninja clans, while Shizune was from a civilian Ninja background.

Uchiha Yakoto's foundation was undoubtedly solid.

As a member of the main family, Hyuga Kana was also excellent in all aspects and had already initially met the standard for practicing Tsunade's Super Strength Fist.

Only Shizune struggled with even the most basic Chakra control.

The fundamental difference was somewhat astonishing.

Tsunade could only arrange the most basic Chakra control training for Shizune, which included tree climbing and walking on water.

Seeing Uchiha Yakoto approach, Tsunade raised an eyebrow and called out.

"Yo, brat."

Seeing Tsunade's appearance, Uchiha Yakoto inexplicably had a feeling of a yellow-haired person.

Lady Tsunade, you should spend less time with Jiraiya; you're starting to smell like Jiraiya now.

When Uchiha Yakoto got closer, he also overheard their conversation.

"To be honest, the path of your Hyuga Clan is very different from my path."
