Chapter 115: Second round winning team

The energy of the Lightning Release Chakra crystal is 80% that of the Wind Chakra crystal.

Feng Zheng meditated for 4 hours. When he woke up, he was greatly surprised.

“Wow! I really didn’t expect my affinity for Lightning Release to be second only to Wind Release. Compared to Wind Release at the beginning, the speed is about 62-63%. I didn’t expect my top two affinities to be the two rarest attributes in Konoha. However, I don’t know if, with the help of this crystal, my Chakra refining speed will increase like with the Wind Chakra crystal.”

He sat there thinking for a few minutes before coming to a conclusion.

“Lightning Release is a very powerful element. But how far can I go? I’m confident that with enough time, I can master Chidori. Although I might not be able to use it while running at high speed.”

“But the more important question is, can I master the Lightning God Armor like the Raikage? Also, how should I do it? He can dodge Amaterasu. So I don’t think simply wrapping my body in Lightning Release Chakra Armor will achieve it. And, considering that no one except the Raikage has learned it, it’s certain that learning it is very dangerous.”

He thought for a moment, then stood up and sighed.

“I need to find a way to check if Konoha has any detailed information on this. If not, then the only option is to infiltrate Hidden Cloud Village and read or steal all their scrolls.”

“Unfortunately, I won’t do that until I become an S-Rank Ninja myself and have excellent means of escape. I hope the Uchiha Clan, through their Sharingan, can at least copy some details and pass the information to the Village. Otherwise, it will be a huge challenge.”

“Also, considering these plans I’ve made for the future, I should keep my Lightning Release a secret. In the future, this might be more helpful. But if I keep it a secret, it will be difficult to get help from others. What should I do?”

He kept thinking as he walked towards the dining hall. Finally, he made a decision.

“My Wind Release is strong. At least until I learn a Rank A Ninjutsu, Lightning Release won’t be able to compete. So, in any case, it won’t be of much help to me in the short term. So, I’ll hide it for now. I’ll try to utilize all the Wind Release help the Village can give me. And my Lightning Release will be my hidden element, to be used when I don’t want to reveal my identity. Without witnesses, I can also use it to surprise and kill enemies.”

Feng Zheng walked into the dining hall, deep in thought. He grabbed a plate, served himself some food, and sat at a table, lost in contemplation. After making his decision, he was about to continue thinking when he felt something.

“Why does it feel like dozens of eyes are staring at me?”

He looked around and noticed six Genin from Hidden Mist Village sitting opposite him.

He noticed that all six had dark circles under their eyes. They had all sustained many injuries and received emergency first aid.

For these five days, the utterly bored Chunin were closely watching, hoping to see some entertainment.

Mieko and Hodaka wondered if they would fight.

Feng Zheng looked at the Genin from Hidden Mist Village and said.

“Hey, when did you guys pass?”

All the Genin from Hidden Mist Village were extremely annoyed with Feng Zheng.

They had been on high alert for over four whole days, waiting for an ambush that never came!

They barely slept. Even when they did sleep, they remained highly vigilant!

When they arrived at the Tower, the Konoha Chunin looked at them strangely, because everyone had huge dark circles under their eyes!

Sakai Yumi controlled herself and replied.

“An hour ago. What about you?”

Feng Zheng started eating again and replied without looking up.

“Oh, we passed in the first hour.”

“Bastard!”

“Fucking bastard!”

“Fuck you!”

“Son of a bitch!”

“Asshole!”

“I’m going to beat him up!”

Every Genin from Hidden Mist cursed him.

Of course, because they were surrounded by Konoha Ninja, they didn’t say it out loud. But everyone could sense the killing intent emanating from them.

One Chunin whispered to another.

“Hey, what do you think Feng Zheng did to them to make them all want to eat him alive?”

The other Chunin said.

“Who knows? But if looks could kill, Feng Zheng would have died a thousand times by now!”

Mieko and Hodaka were also thinking.

“Why are they so angry at Feng Zheng and not at us? After all, we were there too.”

Soon they both realized.

“Wait! Feng Zheng also had his clone chasing them. I completely forgot about that. Don’t tell me he fought them with his clone!”

They looked at the Genin from Hidden Mist and found that it was indeed the case. Both were very annoyed.

“That bastard! He wouldn’t let us fight, but he fought them himself?”

Both of them snorted, pouted, and ignored Feng Zheng.

Inuzuka Tsume and several Chunin also noticed this. They wondered.

“Now even his teammates are angry at him? What exactly did he do?”

Feng Zheng ignored them, as he didn’t particularly care. He was thinking about how many elemental Chakra crystals he should ask Hiruzen for as a reward for first place.

As for what happened in the Forest of Death, starting from the second day, the forest became very active.

Although the forest was large, almost every team had a Sensor Ninja. So they eventually fought.

The worst off was the team from Hidden Rain Village, as they didn’t have any Sensor Ninja. They were attacked again and again, but they all stubbornly held onto their scrolls.

By the end of the third day, all teams except for the Nara-Yamanaka-Akimichi team had fought multiple times. The team from Hidden Mist Village was the unluckiest.

Every time they fought, they had to be highly vigilant for ambushes. So they could never perform at 100% of their strength, but they still won every battle.

When their opponents retreated and they wanted to pursue, they were attacked by beasts in the forest, delaying them and causing them to lose sight of their enemies.

So they were very annoyed.

On the fourth day, they successfully acquired 2 scrolls. The Hidden Mist team successfully defeated the Sunagakure team and obtained the scroll of heaven.

And the recovered Nara-Yamanaka-Akimichi team ambushed the Hidden Rain team and obtained the scroll of earth.

On the fifth day, the Genin from Hidden Mist found the Hidden Rain team and engaged them again. They defeated the Hidden Rain team but found that they had no scrolls.

The Hyuga team noticed this battle and attacked after the Genin from Hidden Mist relaxed their guard.

Unfortunately for them, the Genin from Hidden Mist always remained vigilant.

This time they lost and couldn’t escape. They accepted their defeat and handed over the scroll of earth to them.

The Genin from Hidden Mist had been instructed before the exam not to kill anyone if it could be avoided. So they didn’t kill anyone, only took their scrolls.

Now, the Genin from Hidden Mist had all the necessary scrolls and decided to head to the Tower. On the way, they were ambushed by the last Konoha team.

The Genin from Hidden Mist were already exhausted and severely wounded. But they still managed to escape to the Tower.

The last two teams with scrolls searched for each other all night, but they didn’t see each other, only fighting teams without scrolls.

On the last day, with 30 minutes left before the exam ended, the four Konoha teams found four teams waiting near the Tower.

Nara-Yamanaka-Akimichi falsely claimed they had no scrolls and successfully convinced the others to form an alliance.

Unfortunately, the last team, having fought the Hyuga and Sunagakure teams during the night, no longer had the Chakra to continue fighting. They hid in the forest and gave up on the exam.

So, only 3 teams passed the second round of the exam!
