Chapter 15: Final Exam

As for the Transformation Technique, mastering it completely is extremely difficult.

So, he decided to focus on the appearance aspect.

However, he planned to thoroughly master the Substitution Technique, even practicing it to the point where he could perform it instantly without needing any Hand Seals.

During these two months, while attending classes, he also made significant progress in his Earth Release and Wind Release training.

He can now instantly crush small pebbles into dirt and split a stone in half.

In a rather awkward yet amusing incident, his desk was once piled high with crushed stones and dirt, which he had to quietly clean up after class.

Since then, he no longer crushed stones in class.

But he wondered what he could do during that time.

Unfortunately, he couldn't think of a suitable alternative for Earth Release attribute training.

So, he decided to further focus on Wind Release and began carrying a small piece of scrap metal into class, attempting to cut it.

Over the next few months, he started venturing out, wandering the streets of Konoha while using the Transformation Technique to disguise himself as a casual teenager.

He found many secluded spots in Konoha's small forests and began practicing Tree Climbing.

This was very similar to Wall Walking.

The only difference was the rougher surface of the trees.

He completed this task within an hour and then started Water Walking.

In addition, he also researched Gravity Sealing Jutsu and some Suppression Sealing Jutsu in the Library.

Another month passed, and the final exams were less than a month away.

Feng Zheng finally began to consider whether to start preparing for the exams, he thought.

"Only 25 days until the written exam."

It's too early! But after "convincing" himself again, he sighed.

"Forget it, this is my first exam in this world, I might as well do it properly."

While studying, he noticed that the curriculum here was more difficult than in his previous world.

This was likely the difficulty level for 9-10-year-olds, not 6-7-year-olds.

Feng Zheng wondered if the curriculum in the final years would truly challenge him.

Soon, the school students welcomed their final exams.

For all other students, the final exam was only the written portion.

However, for students in the elite class, more assessment items were added.

Feng Zheng's class also had Shuriken throwing competitions, Leaf Concentration competitions, and Taijutsu competitions.

For Shuriken throwing, a circular board with the same center but different sized circles was placed, and everyone had to hit it.

Scores depended on the circle the Shuriken hit, with the smallest circle having the highest points and the largest circle having the lowest points.

The Shuriken competition had a total of 30 points.

The Leaf Concentration competition was simply to see how long one could keep a leaf from falling.

It was worth 20 points.

The person who held it the longest received the full 20 points, while others' scores depended on how long they kept the leaf from falling compared to him.

For example, if the person who held it the longest held it for 30 minutes, he would get 20 points, and if another person only held it for 21 minutes, he would only get 14 points.

The Taijutsu competition was simple, with scores based on ranking, worth 50 points.

The written exam itself was worth 100 points.

The exam finally took place.

Seeing how seriously everyone took the exam, Feng Zheng smiled.

In the written exam, Feng Zheng was confident he answered everything correctly.

Although he wasn't sure how others performed.

Two days after the written exam, the other competitions were to be held.

Feng Zheng guessed they wanted to grade the written exam first so that the Hokage could reward the winners on the spot.

They started the day's activities with the Leaf Concentration competition.

Feng Zheng had already started practicing Water Walking and was quite confident in this competition.

The competition began.

The first guy dropped his leaf in just two minutes. He was from the Inuzuka Clan.

Over half the class was out of the competition within the first 4 minutes.

Feng Zheng could hear their wails and complaints.

After 10 minutes, only 9 students remained in the competition.

After 15 minutes, only Suzuki Kazemasa, Hyuga Hana, Senju Teru, Shimura Shin, and Uchiha Rai remained.

Just then, he heard Uchiha Rai's wail.

From practice in class, Feng Zheng knew that the others could at most last a little over twenty minutes.

Senju Teru dropped his leaf at the 19-minute mark, Shimura Shin dropped his at the 21-minute mark, and Hyuga Hana lasted until the 22-minute mark.

Feng Zheng decided to build a good lead for the points he would lose in the Taijutsu competition.

He had intended to stop around half an hour, but he held on until the 33-minute mark, then deliberately made a mistake and dropped the leaf.

Although he performed better than his other classmates, he wasn't worried about attracting too much attention because last year, Itachi held a leaf for two hours straight without dropping it!

And there were rumors that he didn't drop the leaf but was asked to stop performing!

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw several children looking at him enviously, and Uchiha Rai was fuming with anger at being completely surpassed in this competition.

Next was the Shuriken throwing competition.

Uchiha Rai, Senju Teru, Shimura Shin, Suzuki Kazemasa, Hyuga Hodaka, and others all scored full marks in this competition.

Looking at Uchiha Rai's crestfallen expression, Feng Zheng thought.

"This competition really isn't fair to him."

As far as Feng Zheng could see, Uchiha Rai was able to hit stationary targets very accurately while moving.

Although he could also consistently hit moving targets, it wasn't dead center.

However, unfortunately, the exam wasn't that difficult, so many people could match him.

Otherwise, only Senju Teru and Shimura Shin would be able to match him.

In the Taijutsu competition, Hyuga Hodaka ranked first, followed by Senju Teru and Hyuga Hana.

Feng Zheng ranked fourth, while Uchiha Rai and Shimura Shin ranked fifth and sixth, respectively.

Feng Zheng defeated Uchiha Rai in the quarterfinals.

Admittedly, Uchiha Rai's technique was stronger than Feng Zheng's, but his physique was much weaker.

However, in the semifinals, Feng Zheng lost to Hyuga Hodaka, and in the battle for third place, he lost to Hyuga Hana again.

He thought to himself.

"Damn, these Hyuga Clan people are really tough to deal with."

Alas, pure Taijutsu was completely unfair when competing against them!

Even Senju Teru, though he fought very well with the Senju Taijutsu Style, ultimately lost.

If Feng Zheng encountered these Hyuga during the Chunin Exams or somewhere else, he would definitely bring a large stack of Exploding Tags for long-range combat!

Hiruzen came to watch the Taijutsu competition.

Feng Zheng noticed that everyone performed very fiercely in the Taijutsu competition, especially Hyuga Hana.

Feng Zheng didn't know if this was because of the exam or because the Hokage was observing.

After all the exams were over, the teachers gave the students a short break while they prepared to calculate everyone's final scores.
