Feng Zheng entered the lowest level of the basement. He held out his palm and looked at it. Chakra began to spin in his palm, forming a circular object.
Feng Zheng decided.
“I haven't practiced this Ninjutsu in a long time. I haven't practiced it since I graduated from the academy!”
Feng Zheng began to practice Rasengan. Since he had already carved many Sealing Jutsu, he didn't have to worry about being seen.
Feng Zheng was already able to form the Rasengan correctly, though a bit slowly.
He continued to train using different methods. Initially, he tried to minimize the time it took to create a Rasengan. When he couldn't reduce the time any further, he started trying to create a spiraling shape while running.
After two days of training, Feng Zheng's control over the Rasengan greatly improved.
He was able to create a perfect sphere and significantly increased the speed of Rasengan creation!
Now, he could create a Rasengan in a fraction of a second and move freely, even running on walls or ceilings.
Feng Zheng looked at the Rasengan, a smile on his face. He thought.
“Excellent. My mastery of Rasengan is sufficient! However, I should simulate testing it in combat. More importantly, once I'm ready, I can prepare to learn the Rasengan Shuriken. This is an S-Rank Ninjutsu that no Ninja would want to be hit by.”
Feng Zheng played with the Chakra ball in his hand, thinking to himself.
“Having said that, it's best not to use this Ninjutsu. Besides the trouble of explaining how I learned it, there's also the question of its effectiveness. In most cases, a sword with Wind Chakra flow would be more dangerous.”
“The only situation where Rasengan would be more effective is if I'm directly confronting another powerful Ninjutsu. However, considering the high speed of my battles so far, such confrontations are almost non-existent.”
“The Giant Rasengan might be more effective, but it consumes a lot of Chakra. So, unless I can find a way to significantly increase my Chakra reserves, it's not suitable for use.”
After carefully observing the Rasengan, Feng Zheng dispersed the Rasengan and the clone, and resumed training. Since he could already create the Rasengan, his progress was rapid.
Feng Zheng's next mission with Yuan Feibao and the others was once again uneventful. This time it was another protection mission, and they didn't even encounter any Ninja.
After the mission, Feng Zheng returned to his basement to continue training.
Around him were several metal mannequins. He bought them to test his Ninjutsu.
Feng Zheng created a Rasengan, stepped forward, and slammed the Rasengan into the mannequin.
The Rasengan sank into the mannequin's abdomen, forming a hole. Soon, the Rasengan exploded, destroying the mannequin, with fragments scattering throughout the basement.
Feng Zheng grinned.
“What great power! Now I need to simulate using it in combat.”
Feng Zheng made a Hand Seals gesture, and a Shadow Clone suddenly appeared beside him. The two moved apart from each other.
Feng Zheng began to create a Rasengan while charging at his clone.
At the same time, the Shadow Clone attacked Feng Zheng with wooden Shuriken and Feng Bao Qiu (Wind Burst Ball) to prevent him from getting close. Moreover, whenever Feng Zheng tried to close the distance between them, the clone would move away from him.
Feng Zheng's goal was to hit his shadow with the Rasengan without using any other Ninjutsu or interference. The Shadow Clone tried its best to avoid being hit.
After a day of intense training, Feng Zheng was breathing heavily. He complained.
“What the hell? It's impossible for Rasengan to hit someone as fast as me! I chased my clone all day without success! Every time I was about to succeed, my clone would use Body Flicker Technique. I should also use Rasengan while Body Flicker Technique. Otherwise, there's no hope.”
Before he had to go on his next mission, Feng Zheng could already use Rasengan while Body Flicker Technique in the basement.
He had successfully hit his Shadow Clone several times. He was very satisfied with his progress.
Feng Zheng met with Yuan Feibao and the others outside the mission center. His mood was quite good since mastering the Rasengan.
Sarutobi Tamotsu had just accepted a mission. He said.
“Since our previous two missions had no combat, I chose a mission where the opponent might be strong. Our mission is in the Land of Noodles. The Daimyo of that country received intelligence that some rogue Ninja were going to attack his town, and he was worried that his current army wouldn't be able to stop them.”
Inuzuka Zheng said with a smile.
“That sounds like a good mission.”
Feng Zheng nodded and asked.
“Indeed. But why is this mission only a Rank B mission? A mission that threatens a Daimyo should be an S-Rank Ninjutsu.”
Hatake Ryota said.
“There could be multiple reasons. Perhaps the threat isn't that great.”
Yuan Feibao added.
“Or, teams performing A-Rank or S-Rank missions could deter these guys, and they might postpone their attack until these teams leave.”
Feng Zheng said.
“That makes sense, I didn't think the Daimyo would be so brave.”
Yuan Feibao laughed.
“Don't be so loud, anyway, I guess the Daimyo and his family have already escaped to a safe place, probably leaving a body double to trick the opponent into attacking the town. Anyway, let's go.”
The group nodded and immediately left. After a day's journey, they reached their destination.
The group observed the town from a distance. It was a medium-sized town surrounded by walls.
Inuzuka Zheng said.
“This is the town we are to defend.”
Liang Tai said.
“This town is not as big as I imagined, but it's not a bad thing. For this size, we can still defend it well.”
Yuan Feibao asked.
“Liang Tai, do you think these walls can be utilized?”
Liang Tai replied.
“It's hard to say. Even if they can, they won't be of much help against Ninja. At most, they can achieve some surprise kills.”
Yuan Feibao said.
“Depending on the opponent, just this will give us an advantage. Anyway, let's go.”
They quickly arrived below the city walls. Yuan Feibao handed the mission scroll to the gatekeeper, and they were allowed to enter the town.
As soon as they entered, a Ninja flashed before them. He said.
“Thank you for coming to protect us. I am Mingliang Zongtan, responsible for the defense of this town.”
Yuan Feibao said.
“I am Sarutobi Tamotsu, let's go inside, and you can introduce us to the specific situation.”
Zongtan nodded and led the Konoha group to a house within the town. Everyone sat down.
Yuan Feibao said.
“We didn't get much information in the mission description, can you tell me the specific details?”
Zongtan nodded and said.
“I cannot tell you the source of the information. But as far as we know, we expect to be attacked by eighteen rogue Ninja, most of whom are Chunin level. We don't know who their leader is, but we expect him to be at Jonin level, as he is capable of organizing such an attack.”
“As for defense, I am the only Jonin in the town. So I will deal with the enemy's leader. We also have 12 Chunin and 17 Genin. So we are confident in our defense. But we requested help in case something beyond our expectations happens and to reduce our casualties.”
Upon hearing this, Feng Zheng's left eye twitched. He thought.
“Is this guy considered a Jonin?”
Yuan Feibao nodded and asked.
“Do you know where those guys are? We could preemptively strike and inflict casualties on them.”
Zongtan replied.
“We don't know. We don't know their hiding place. Moreover, the Daimyo wants us to kill them all. If we attack their hiding place, many of them might find a way to escape.”
Yuan Feibao said.
“Alright. Is the Daimyo still in town?”
Zongtan said nothing, only shaking his head.
Yuan Feibao asked.
“Do we know when the attack will happen?”
Zongtan replied.
“We don't know. I will arrange for you and the Daimyo's family to stay on the top floor, where there's a good view to keep an eye on the surroundings. Of course, prioritize rest, as we need you to be fully prepared when the attack occurs.”
Zongtan led them to the top floor. This floor had 3 rooms. There was also a small balcony on all four sides, equipped with binoculars and other tools to help observe the surroundings.
There were several people in one of the rooms, looking very scared. They were body doubles for the Daimyo and his family.
Zongtan explained the defenses and traps they had set up and asked if Yuan Feibao and his subordinates would be willing to set more traps.
Yuan Feibao agreed and asked Liang Tai and Katsumi to set up more traps. The two immediately started working. Inuzuka Zheng volunteered to scout the nearby surroundings.
Yuan Feibao went to check some things. Meanwhile, Feng Zheng decided to go to the top floor to rest.
He thought to himself.
“I was a little excited, but this mission also seems quite boring. If Zongtan is considered a Jonin, I might be able to kill the entire enemy camp. Sigh, I guess only A-Rank and S-Rank missions will be exciting.”
“Anyway, this country is called the Land of Noodles. I'm curious how delicious the noodles here are.”
Feng Zheng left to find the palace chef.
The chef and other ordinary civilians were unaware of the impending attack. So they were relaxed. However, they recognized the headband on Feng Zheng's head, and although he was young, the people still respected him greatly.
The head chef saw Feng Zheng and asked with a smile.
“I am the head chef here, how can I help you, young man?”
Feng Zheng said.
“Hello, head chef, I want to know how delicious the noodles in this country really are.”
The smile on the head chef's face disappeared, and he asked seriously.
“Young man, are you looking down on the noodles here?”
Feng Zheng smiled.
“No, I'm just an ordinary foodie, please do your best.”
The head chef said.
“We have nineteen kinds of noodles here, and these nineteen kinds are the best of the best.”
Feng Zheng said.
“Uh, really? Then I'll try all 19 varieties while I'm here.”
