Chapter 3: Fighting

Compared to other islands, Wano Country's most unique feature is the high walls built on all sides.

The water accumulated over eight hundred years has given Wano Country a vast inland sea.

And somewhere beneath this inland sea, there is Pluton—Crocodile's most coveted treasure!

Kaido had no intention of landing in Wano Country; he led Cain forward, flying all the way, and before long, a small island shaped like a skull's head came into view.

Onigashima, they had arrived.

Two divine dragons, one after another, dove into the skull's eyes and flew into the island's interior.

Inside the skull's head was a Japanese-style building, which was the core base of Kaido and the Beasts Pirates.

Kaido landed on the plaza in front of the building and transformed back into his human form.

The pirates, who had already detected Kaido's presence, swarmed over.

“Boss Kaido is back!”

“Let’s have a banquet to celebrate!”

...

Cain stood beside Kaido, looking around, and noticed that the pirates' faces were filled with fanatical adoration for Kaido.

It was clear that the Beasts Pirates had strong cohesion.

At the same time, Cain's high-profile appearance also attracted the pirates' attention.

“Was that giant dragon following Boss Kaido the kid?”

“That’s right, I saw him transform with my own eyes.”

“It seems Boss Kaido has recruited an incredible Mythical Zoan.”

“Hmph, that’s not necessarily true.”

“Exactly, his skin is so pale, and his body is so thin; he looks good but is useless. How can he be as reliable as my well-trained muscles?”

Cain paid no attention to the scrutinizing and disdainful gazes around him, instead focusing on the two people walking out of the building.

The two were similar in height, about six meters tall.

One was well-proportioned, tall, and robust, with black wings on his back, a long sword hanging at his waist, and his entire body clad in black leather clothing, even wearing a helmet and mask on his head, looking like a letter-circle boss.

What was most striking was the blazing flames behind his head.

King the Conflagration.

The other was corpulent, wearing sunglasses, with a golden ponytail behind his head, dressed in black and white overalls, and his left hand was a mechanical prosthetic limb.

Queen the Plague.

Aside from the two most prominent disasters, Cain also spotted many “old acquaintances” in the crowd.

Jack, who was taller than Kaido, adorned with ivory decorations on his head, and sporting a ponytail and two braided pigtails.

Who's-Who, wearing a red mask helmet and a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

Black Maria, in geisha attire, looking at Kaido with adoring eyes.

And a pair of siblings with horns on their heads and wearing masks: the older sister, Ulti, and the younger brother, Page One.

“Perfect timing, King, Queen.”

Kaido grinned widely, slapped Cain's back with a large hand, directly pushing him into everyone's view.

“This kid is Cain, the third All-Star I scouted—Calamity.”

A single stone stirred up a thousand ripples.

Whether or not they aspired to the All-Star position, all the pirates turned their gaze towards Cain.

Damn it! Bastard Kaido, you're not giving me any preparation time? You're just announcing it so bluntly?

I don't even know Haki yet.

Cain was quite troubled; if he had mastered the three types of Haki, he would have the confidence to firmly hold the All-Star position.

But now, it was too rushed.

Before Cain could speak, Jack, who had long coveted the All-Star position, jumped out and shouted, “I refuse! Boss Kaido, I want to duel him, and the winner will take the All-Star position!”

“In the Beasts Pirates, strength is respected! To be an All-Star, you must defeat us!”

“That’s right, we want to fight him!”

In an instant, the crowd was agitated.

Kaido was very pleased with his subordinates' reactions; he turned to Cain: “What do you think?”

“No matter how many sheep there are, they are ultimately just food for tigers and leopards,” Cain said with an arrogant smile.

In the Beasts Pirates, pretending to be weak is useless; the creed here is that only the strong can dominate everything!

“Uohohohoho, little ones, let’s have a big fight!”

Kaido laughed in satisfaction, raising his spiked club and pointing it outside the skull.

“Oh!!!”

The pirates roared loudly, their faces filled with fanaticism.

Building a name for themselves was today!

Outside Onigashima.

Hundreds of pirates, aspiring to the All-Star position, surrounded Cain.

Kaido, Queen, and King stood at the skull's eyes, enjoying the entertainment below.

Yes, for them, this battle, which gathered hundreds of pirates' determination and dreams, was merely a small diversion in their boring lives.

“Mr. Kaido, do you think Cain can win?” King asked, his voice devoid of emotion, his arms crossed.

“That kind of thing, it doesn't matter,” Kaido waved his hand, “If he dies, it only means he was too weak.”

He just needed a subordinate who could bear the name of Calamity; as for who it was, he didn't care.

Below, in the plaza.

Cain's body moved, instantly transforming into a verdant giant dragon and flying into the air.

For group battles, the beast form was best—it was tough!

“Honestly, there are just too many people.”

Cain looked down, his voice like thunder.

As soon as he finished speaking, the sky was instantly covered with thunderclouds, lightning flashing between the clouds from time to time, and cold winds inexplicably swept through the world.

“Oh~ He can even change the weather?” Queen pushed his sunglasses up, a glint of surprise in his small eyes.

King also put away his contempt, not because he thought Cain was incredibly strong, but because the strategic value of this ability was immense.

Whether for infrastructure development or combat at sea, it was an excellent support.

After only a few quick thoughts, King had already come up with dozens of ways Cain could be useful.

“Mr. Kaido, we must protect him,” King's voice was low and firm.

“Uohohohoho, that kid might not lose.”

Kaido pulled off the large sake gourd from his waist, tilted his head back, and drank heartily, transparent liquor freely flowing from the corners of his mouth.

Below, the pirates, witnessing the dramatic change in the weather, were also startled and uncertain—making such a grand scene?

Controlling wind and rain was something they had only seen Boss Kaido do.

Could it be?

“Impossible, absolutely impossible!” A burly middle-aged pirate waved his sword and shouted, “How could anyone be as strong as Boss Kaido? Boss Kaido is invincible!”

“Exactly!” The pirates responded in unison.

“It’s just a bluff, take this!” The middle-aged pirate pushed off with his legs, leaped into the air, and chopped down fiercely towards Cain's dragon body.

Many pirates followed closely, raising their various weapons and striking at Cain.

Clang, clang, clang—

The sounds of metal clashing rang out continuously.

The bloodthirsty sneers on all the pirates' faces froze completely in that second!

The scene of flesh and blood flying that they had imagined did not appear.

On the contrary, the immense recoil from their weapons made their hands tingle and crack, while only faint white marks appeared on Cain's dragon body, fading at a visible rate.

“Have you made enough noise?”

A deep, oppressive voice came from above, like muffled thunder.

Cain's massive dragon head slowly lowered, sweeping indifferently over the faces distorted by shock before him.

“Now...it's my turn.”

“Thunderstorm!”
