Chapter 74: Cap arrives

Chapter 74: Vice Admiral Garp's Arrival

On the distant sea, a dog-headed warship was rapidly approaching.

An old man, burly as an iron tower, with a dog-head hat on his head, stood with his arms crossed on top of the dog's head.

“Oh dear, this time it’s really troublesome.”

Kain said it was troublesome, but his face remained calm, even showing a hint of playfulness.

Is Garp strong?

Of course, he is.

In the God Valley incident, he and Roger teamed up to defeat the Rocks Pirates; in the Marineford incident, he and Sengoku teamed up to defeat Golden Lion.

These are his famous achievements.

Although he later earned the nicknames “Double Team King” and “Premature Garp,” jokes aside, Garp’s strength should not be underestimated.

“Heavenly Disaster Kain, what are you trying to do to my precious grandson!”

Garp’s gaze instantly Lock-On Ace on the deck, his furious roar came like a clap of thunder, making the air reverberate.

“No, too slow!”

Garp lost his patience, he suddenly leaped high into the air, clenched his right fist, and punched the underside of the warship.

Boom! A powerful punch landed on the sea surface.

Under Garp's extreme control, the violent impact did not break the surface tension of the sea; instead, the sea surface acted like a trampoline, bouncing the warship high into the air.

The dog-headed warship slammed towards the Raikougo at an incredible speed!

“No way~”

Violet exclaimed in shock, covering her mouth in disbelief.

Bang! The dog-headed warship crashed heavily onto the sea, stirring up towering waves dozens of meters high.

Even the massive Raikougo was rocked by the immense recoil.

Garp himself landed directly on the deck of the Raikougo.

Looking at the living Marine legend before him, Kain chuckled, “Vice Admiral Garp, don’t hinder the dreams of young people.”

“That’s right, old man. I’ve decided to join Kain’s crew and overthrow this terrible era!” Ace echoed with a firm attitude.

Ace’s rebellious words made veins pop out on Garp’s forehead in anger.

“You brat! How dare you speak so brazenly!”

Thud.

Garp mercilessly gave Ace a loving iron fist, causing a large lump to immediately swell on the latter’s forehead.

“Your and Luffy’s future is to join the Marine and protect the peace of this sea with me!”

Huh?

Everyone who knew Ace’s background was shocked.

Is the legendary Marine hero that wild?

Not only did he acknowledge the Pirate King Roger’s son as his grandson, but he also wanted to recruit him into the Marine.

Would the Marine high command agree?

Kain, however, felt that Garp’s wild idea might not be without operational space.

The Pirate King’s son joining the Marine is itself a huge publicity stunt.

If even the Pirate King’s descendant joins the Marine, what’s the point for ordinary pirates to keep fighting?

Furthermore, if Ace were strong enough, the position of Admiral might not be impossible.

Even if his strength was a bit lacking, for the sake of this reputation, the Marine might even create a civilian Admiral position for Ace to fill.

The World Government itself has enough tolerance for strong individuals.

In the future, they even wanted to absorb Loki into the Celestial Dragons.

If Celestial Dragons can join, what's a mere Admiral?

Luffy, on the other hand, was more dangerous.

Roger merely wanted to shake the World Government’s rule, but Dragon was going straight for the root.

If the Revolutionary Army didn’t achieve anything, it would be fine, but if they made a name for themselves—

Kidnapping Luffy to force Dragon to compromise is something the World Government is all too familiar with.

They did exactly that in Elbaf.

It’s truly a traditional art.

“No, I want to be a pirate.”

Ace said fiercely, clutching the large lump on his forehead.

“Me too!” Luffy was not to be outdone: “I will definitely become the Pirate King!”

Kuma silently watched this scene, scratching his head. Vice Admiral Garp’s teaching methods seemed a bit poor.

“Ahhh, you two brats!”

Garp’s beard bristled and his eyes Glared, black and red Haki erupted, making the air tremble.

It hardened.

His fist hardened.

“It seems the old man is really angry.”

Kain snorted.

Thinking about it, if it were him, and his carefully cultivated successor was led astray to develop on another path, he would also want to kill someone.

“Are we going to fight?”

Yamato’s eyes lit up, and she pulled out her spiked club.

Kozuki Hiyori and the others also tensed their bodies, standing ready.

On the dog-headed warship, Garp’s subordinate, Bogard, seeing the unfavorable situation, also jumped over and stood beside Garp, his right hand firmly resting on the hilt of his sword at his waist.

On the deck, the atmosphere instantly dropped to freezing point, tense and on the verge of breaking out.

Kain, as if unaware, calmly said, “Vice Admiral Garp, a battleground here might not be suitable.”

Garp, full of rage, paused.

He subconsciously looked around. Besides the Marine and pirate factions, there were also quite a few villagers here.

What was even more critical was that Windmill Village was not far away.

Once he and Kain started fighting, Windmill Village would definitely be destroyed, if nothing else.

This was his hometown where he was born and raised, and many of his childhood friends still lived there.

However, to just let Kain go like this, he couldn't swallow his anger.

“How about we change locations?”

Kain pointed to the distant Gorp Mountain: “How about there?”

Since reasoning didn't work, then a fight it would be; that would be more effective than anything else.

“Good!”

Garp's clenched fist made a grating 'creak' sound, and his violent aura surged again, “Then let this old man teach you, an ignorant brat, a good lesson!”

“Lord Kain!”

“Vice Admiral Garp!”

Both sides spoke almost at the same time, wanting to dissuade them.

But they clearly couldn't stop the two of them.

The two figures instantly vanished from the Raikougo, transforming into streaks of light barely visible to the naked eye, and shot towards the depths of the Gorp Mountain Range.

Deep within Gorp Mountain.

Garp and Kain, who had rushed there, stood facing each other.

“Let this old man weigh how much these youngsters are really worth!”

Garp roared, and on his clenched right fist, dark Armament Haki covered it like a tide.

Kain’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the erupting Haki lightning on Garp’s fist.

What powerful Armament Haki!

But I'm not bad either!

Kain instantly entered his beast-man form.

No probing, no fancy moves!

The next second, a black fist and a black Dragon Claw slammed into each other.

Boom!

It was as if two meteorites had collided!

A visible circular shockwave exploded outwards from the two of them.

Wherever it passed, trees shattered like brittle stalks, and even the solid ground was scraped clean of its surface layer.

With just the aftershock of a single collision, the two of them had forcibly cleared out a huge circular open space!

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Both were shaken back several steps by each other.

“That’s quite a punch, old man!”

Kain shook his numb right hand and showed an excited smile.

“Less nonsense! Get your ass to Impel Down and savor it slowly!”

Garp had no intention of talking to him and charged forward again.

“I don’t want to go to a place like that!”

Kain smiled, throwing a punch at Garp.
