Chapter 90: Preparing to Move the Island
"Roar!!!"
The Lion roared to the sky, its colossal roar shaking the entire island.
In the other four directions of the island—south, west, north, and central—four powerful presences were instantly startled. With a mix of surprise and uncertainty, they all looked towards the east.
Kain watched the enraged giant beast before him, a playful smirk slowly curving his lips.
The next instant, a pale, slender hand pressed against the Lion's chest.
"Dragon Claw!"
A formidable force, like an invisible battering ram, violently struck the Lion.
Accompanied by the explosive sound of trees snapping, the giant Lion's massive body was sent flying uncontrollably for hundreds of meters.
Along its path, ancient trees as thick as a man's embrace were snapped in half like fragile stalks of wheat. Dust billowed into the sky, forming a clear, empty path.
As the dust cleared, the Lion lay sprawled on the ground, breathing heavily like a bellows, unable to get up for a moment.
When it saw the figure, like a demon god, walking unhurriedly towards it, stepping over scattered broken wood and branches,
the Lion, ignoring its body's pain, struggled to its feet and ran deeper into the forest.
"It's too late to run now, isn't it~"
Kain's playful voice rang out, and his figure instantly vanished from his spot. When he reappeared, he was already standing on top of the Lion's head.
He crouched down and gently patted the Lion's rough, tough scalp, as if stroking a pet.
"Submission or death, choose one."
Powerful Beasts possess high intelligence, and Kain had no doubt it would understand his meaning.
Sure enough, after a moment of hesitation, the Lion's strong will to live completely overwhelmed its pride as a ruler.
It obediently lowered its body, its massive head pressed against the ground, and a fawning purr rumbled in its throat.
"That's a good boy."
Kain smiled in satisfaction, and as a reward, he ruffled the fur on its head: "Now, take me to meet your friends. I'm really looking forward to them!"
The Lion nodded frantically, a hint of barely perceptible schadenfreude flashing in its eyes.
Those guys weren't its friends at all, but rather mortal enemies with whom it often fought to the death over territory!
It suited the Lion perfectly for this terrifying little person to go and deal with them.
It couldn't be the only one to suffer, could it?
Several hours later, on the east coast of Rusukaina Island.
A giant Lion, a giant Ape, a giant Snake, a giant Elephant, and a giant Rhinoceros!
The five great rulers of the island were gathered unprecedentedly, and they weren't even fighting.
However, except for the giant Lion, who looked relatively decent, the other four all had a large, bright red bump on their foreheads without exception. Kain stood before the five mountain-like giant Beasts, appearing as tiny as an ant, yet exuding an aura that made the five giant Beasts dare not even breathe.
"Remember what I said. Obey orders, and you'll live very comfortably. Otherwise—"
His gaze turned cold.
The five overlord-level Beasts immediately nodded their massive heads like pounding garlic, like elementary school students being scolded by a teacher.
"Kain! Are you done with your business?"
Yamato, who had been having fun, slid over on an astonishingly large snake named Mori.
Mori's belly was bulging, clearly having just had a hearty meal.
"Hmm? You changed mounts?" Kain raised an eyebrow, looking at the giant python with a thick head under her feet.
"Yeah! This island is so interesting!"
Yamato jumped off the snake's back and excitedly counted on her fingers, sharing her jungle stories like a connoisseur: "Fenrir was gored to death by the Minotaur, the Minotaur was bitten to death by the Hydra—and finally, Pegasus was swallowed by Jormungandr!"
Kain's mouth twitched as he listened.
Goodness, Yamato's sightseeing trip had directly cut through both Greek and Norse mythology!
Kozuki Hiyori walked gracefully towards them, looking at the five giant Beasts, which resembled moving fortresses, her delicate brows slightly furrowed with worry: "Lord Kain, I'm afraid the Raikougo can't transport these giant Beasts."
"Of course not." Kain nodded.
The Raikougo was only a hundred-meter-class ship, and the shortest of those five beast rulers was over fifty meters tall. Unless he had Doraemon's shrink ray, he could at most take one.
However, who said he was going to personally transport the goods?
The Beasts Pirates had a little expert in transportation.
"Hey, Mr. Kaido, I've found a good place for our Beasts—"
Kain called the Den Den Mushi without hesitation.
Kaido on the other end was a monster who could literally lift Onigashima and still endure multiple rounds of combat.
Unless "Country Mover" Oars was resurrected, Kain could hardly think of a more suitable candidate.
"You damn brat! What do you take me for?! A porter?!"
The Den Den Mushi instantly mimicked Kaido's enraged expression, and it seemed as if spittle was about to spray through the receiver onto Kain's face.
Kain calmly wiped away the non-existent spittle and smiled: "Those are hundreds of Beasts only slightly weaker than a Headliner, you know.
A few of them are even strong enough to contend with a Numbers."
The Den Den Mushi on the other end fell into a brief silence.
A few seconds later, Kaido's impatient roar came through: "If you brat dare to lie to me, I'll make you regret it!"
See, it worked.
Kain didn't believe Kaido would give up such a treasure trove.
"One more thing," Kain quickly blurted out his idea before Kaido hung up.
"Troublesome! Only you would dare to order me around like this."
Kaido neither agreed nor refused, roughly cutting off the communication.
Several days later.
Kain and his group returned to Rusukaina Island.
This time, however, they chose not to go ashore but to wait.
They didn't wait too long.
"Oh? Are they here?"
Kain stood at the bow of the ship, a slight smile on his lips.
He complains a lot, but his body is quite honest, isn't it, Teacher Kai?
From within the clouds, a massive, elongated dark silhouette slowly emerged. Before long, a ferocious dragon head peered out from the clouds.
On the deck of the Raikougo, Kaido landed, having returned to his human form.
"You've worked hard."
Kain smiled and went to greet him.
"Kain Landeau!" X2
Two tiny voices rang out.
Two small figures appeared on Kaido's broad left and right shoulders.
They were Princess Mansherry and her guard, Leo.
"Quick! Take these two noisy little things away!"
Kaido stood with his arms crossed, his face expressionless.
"Of course."
Kain carefully scooped up the two small Tontatta Tribe people.
These were his trump cards to win over Hancock.
After observing them, he smiled and said, "Mr. Kaido, you've taken good care of them."
Upon closer inspection, Princess Mansherry's face was pale, but it didn't seem to be from being intimidated by Kaido. It looked more like weakness after an extremely bumpy long journey.
Kaido merely scoffed: "You'd better pray I get a satisfactory result today."
"Don't worry, it won't be a wasted trip."
Kain smiled faintly, not minding Kaido's little show of arrogance.
