Chapter 240: travel

Chapter 240 Travel

About half an hour later, Li Duohui walked out of the Chairman Jiang’s office with a calm expression, greeted Choi Ji-yeon, and then returned to her own office.

Seeing Li Duohui come out, Choi Ji-yeon then got up and walked into the office.

“Chairman Jiang.”

“What is it?” Jiang Shu looked at the computer screen without turning his head.

“What did President Li say about the project funding?” Choi Ji-yeon asked.

“You seem very concerned about this matter?” Jiang Shu turned his head to look at Choi Ji-yeon upon hearing this, asking with a smile.

“I misspoke.” Choi Ji-yeon was startled and quickly lowered her head, saying.

“The company has grown larger, and everyone has their own little thoughts,” Jiang Shu’s smiling voice echoed in her ears.

Although he was smiling, to Choi Ji-yeon’s ears, it was full of questioning.

Lowering her head and not daring to look up, Choi Ji-yeon felt immense panic.

For a moment of carelessness, she was noticed by Chairman Jiang, which was a major taboo for such a sensitive position as Chairman Jiang’s secretary!

“You may leave.” A moment later, Jiang Shu’s voice sounded.

“Yes!” Choi Ji-yeon felt as if she had been granted a great pardon and hurriedly left the office.

Jiang Shu looked at Choi Ji-yeon’s retreating back and sighed helplessly.

He took out the form again and looked at the funding amounts which even PD Sun himself couldn’t justify and didn’t match at all. Jiang Shu couldn’t help but smile.

“Human nature.”

He knew this matter was related to Li Duohui, but he didn’t mention it.

It wasn’t to make Li Duohui “confess,” but to warn her to rein it in.

Taking bribes and extorting money, this phenomenon exists in all walks of life; it’s a problem of human nature, and it’s impossible to completely eradicate it.

DM Entertainment didn’t have this before because its scale wasn’t large enough; now DM Entertainment has clearly become an industry benchmark, and as its scale grows, people’s hearts begin to waver.

Taking a little is fine, as long as the work can be done well within the given funding scope, Jiang Shu will not inquire about it.

Entertainment tasks are different from construction projects; in the latter, cutting corners can lead to serious incidents, while in the former… as long as you can complete the work within the budget I provide, taking some is irrelevant.

However, despite thinking this way, Jiang Shu needed to show his stance.

As long as you’re not excessive, I can turn a blind eye, but if you are excessive, then I will settle accounts with you.

This was Jiang Shu’s attitude, and it was also a warning to those subordinates who were making small moves.

Li Duohui could understand his meaning; as long as Li Duohui understood, others would also understand these things, and those who didn’t understand, Li Duohui would make them understand.

He pulled open the drawer and put the form back.

He didn’t lock it; he just left it there. Its very existence was a statement.

The next day, May 13th, at the exit of Suzhou High-Speed Railway Station.

The cameraman for the Yuan Ying's Travel production team, holding a compact camera, and accompanying staff members waited at the exit for the guests to arrive.

The travel destinations for the first season were all in China, not Korea, so large-scale photographic equipment was not suitable to be taken out. Therefore, the production team fully adopted DJI’s small cameras. Although not as easy to use as large equipment, they had all the necessary functions, and any issues could be resolved with some extra work in post-production.

Moreover, these shots were only for outdoor use; in fixed locations like hotels and cars, the original equipment was still used.

Soon, Jiang Shu’s figure appeared in the camera’s view.

Jiang Shu, wearing a short-sleeved shirt, was dressed casually, pulling a convenient business suitcase as he swiped his ID to exit the station.

The production team immediately came forward.

“Chairman Jiang, welcome to beautiful Suzhou. As a guest for this Suzhou trip, Yuan Ying is already waiting at the hotel. Please complete the task, Chairman Jiang, to obtain the hotel information,” the staff member went straight to the point, handing a card with the program’s logo to Jiang Shu.

Passersby looked on curiously; even without large equipment, the group’s presence was quite eye-catching.

Jiang Shu ignored these gazes and began to read the content on the card, reading it aloud in Korean.

“Challenge: travel from the high-speed rail station to Suzhou’s landmark building, Oriental Gate, without spending any money, and take a photo for check-in below the Oriental Gate. After completing the check-in, you will receive information about your hotel.”

Jiang Shu couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, taking out his phone to check the distance from Suzhou Station to the Oriental Gate.

8.9 kilometers, a two-hour and ten-minute walk.

By car, it only takes 17 minutes.

“No money…” Jiang Shu chuckled, “This task isn’t difficult.”

The staff and cameraman said nothing more, but quietly followed Jiang Shu.

Even if Jiang Shu chose to walk these 8.9 kilometers, they would have to follow on foot.

However, Jiang Shu obviously did not choose to walk, but rather walked towards the parking lot, pulling his suitcase.

The few people quickly followed suit.

Before they had walked two steps, a large group of men and women in various clothes surrounded them, speaking Chinese that the few couldn’t understand.

Then they saw Jiang Shu say a few words to these people, and one ajumma, who looked to be in her forties, reached out and pulled Jiang Shu. Then, the ajumma, with a beaming smile, led Jiang Shu into her taxi.

The few people looked at each other, then quickly followed, and before the taxi was about to start, they handed the camera to Jiang Shu.

Then, the group watched as Jiang Shu drove away in the taxi.

Inside the car.

Jiang Shu sat in the passenger seat, smiling as he took out the camera and pointed it at himself, then began to speak in Korean.

“Let me explain how I got a free taxi ride.”

“I told the taxi drivers that I was traveling from Korea and that this trip to Suzhou was too rushed, so I didn’t have time to exchange cash. If the drivers could, would they be able to take me to the Oriental Gate? In return, I would post a video in Korea to help them promote their services.”

“Then this driver was very happy and told me that he could take me there. The publicity after this variety show airs will definitely be enough. This, ah, this is called a win-win!”

After Jiang Shu finished speaking, he looked at the driver in the driver’s seat.

“Sir, I won’t hide it from you, we are currently filming a variety show called Yuan Ying's Travel. Many episodes have already aired, and we will promote you on this show,” Jiang Shu switched back to Chinese and said with a smile.

“A variety show? Are you a Korean celebrity?” The driver immediately became excited. “Your Chinese is so good!”

“I’m Chinese, I just work in Korea,” Jiang Shu said with a smile.

“Oh, I thought you were Korean,” the driver suddenly realized. “I heard that prices are very high in Korea, and watermelons are very expensive?”

“Not too bad, the average income in Korea is relatively high.”

“Are there many Chinese people?”

“Quite a lot.”
