Chapter 329: Night Deepens
Villa living room.
Jiang Shu, dressed in pajamas, lay lazily on the recliner. Music from QQ Music TV played on the television, the songs echoing through the living room.
He watched the music videos on the TV, passing the night away.
Just then, the sound of stairs and shoes colliding reached his ears, followed by footsteps approaching him from far away.
A moment later, a pair of soft hands rested on Jiang Shu's shoulders, accompanied by a rich, complex fragrance.
Sakura, wearing only a silk slip, slowly knelt behind Jiang Shu, her hands on his shoulders wrapping around his neck.
She lowered her head, her freshly blow-dried and fluffy hair first brushing against Jiang Shu's skin, bringing a slight tickle along with Sakura's body warmth.
"Come to the front," Jiang Shu said, patting Sakura's hands that were wrapped around him.
Sakura, like an obedient kitten, released her hands and came around the recliner to stand in front of Jiang Shu.
He pulled Sakura's wrist, and with a gentle tug, the girl, weighing less than a hundred pounds, fell into Jiang Shu's embrace.
The familiar scent of male hormones enveloped Sakura's small face in a blush. Her boneless body curled up small in Jiang Shu's arms, soft and wonderfully tactile.
Jiang Shu simply held Sakura, not speaking, just quietly holding her, listening to the songs playing on the television, in silence.
Sakura was a bit shy at first, but when she didn't feel Jiang Shu make any further moves, she looked up in confusion and found Jiang Shu staring blankly straight ahead, lost in thought.
Seeing this, Sakura made the same choice as last time: she quietly lay in Jiang Shu's arms, feeling the warmth radiating from each other.
Click.
After an unknown amount of time, the sound of the front door opening suddenly came from the entrance.
The two, like statues, turned their heads simultaneously at the sound.
"You didn't forget to take the stuff, did you?"
"No, I didn't forget. How could I forget something that County Head Liu specifically gave to Jiang Shu?"
Jiang Father and Su Wan's voices came from outside the front door, and then their figures appeared in the two people's line of sight.
Sakura quickly broke free from Jiang Shu's embrace and stood up from his arms. Although her reaction was quick, the two elders still saw everything.
Jiang Father and Su Wan looked in surprise at Sakura as she stood up from Jiang Shu's embrace, seeing her silk slip. Jiang Father immediately averted his gaze.
Su Wan, being a woman, did not avert her gaze, but her expression was a bit strange as she looked at the blushing Sakura and the expressionless Jiang Shu.
"Are we perhaps here at the wrong time?" Su Wan's slightly teasing voice rang out.
"Sakura, you go upstairs first," Jiang Shu said to Sakura, glancing at Su Wan.
"Okay." Sakura bowed to Jiang Shu with a red face, then bowed to Jiang Father and Su Wan before quickly heading upstairs.
Hearing the movement, Jiang Father finally turned his head and walked over with Su Wan, carrying their things.
Jiang Shu looked at the wooden box in Jiang Father's hand and asked, a bit puzzled, "What is this?"
"County Head Liu specifically got you this calligraphy. This is a work by XX, the most famous calligrapher in Shu County in the past fifty years."
"These are wines produced by our Shu County's winery," Su Wan said, setting down the two boxes of red wine she was carrying.
Seeing this, Jiang Shu sat up from the recliner, took the wooden box from Jiang Father's hand, and began to examine it.
Su Wan glanced upstairs, then lowered her voice and asked Jiang Shu, who was looking at the calligraphy, "Why did you change people again? Wasn't Bae Joo-hyun pretty good last time? And even if you change, can't you choose someone a bit taller?"
Jiang Shu looked at Su Wan, a bit speechless.
"Bae Joo-hyun and I don't have that kind of relationship. As for Sakura, we're just in a very simple relationship, not involving marriage."
Jiang Father and Su Wan exchanged glances. Jiang Father's eyes held the inevitable envy of a man, while Su Wan's held the exasperated sigh of a mother.
"You're almost thirty. When are you planning to get married?" Jiang Father cleared his throat and asked.
"We'll see," Jiang Shu said, looking at the calligraphy before putting it back. He couldn't appreciate these things and couldn't tell if they were good or bad. "You two take it. I don't want this."
"Alright." Jiang Father cherished these things, and he was happy that Jiang Shu didn't want them.
"Do you want to look at the red wine?"
"No, I don't," Jiang Shu said, shaking his head.
"Right, I saw in your video that you even shared a 300,000 yuan romanee-conti with your employees," Su Wan said with a smile, teasing him.
Jiang Shu was momentarily stunned, then remembered that Su Wan was referring to the New Year's Eve video from last year.
"That bottle of wine was a gift from a wine merchant friend," Jiang Shu said simply. "Do you two still have something? If not, you can go."
"Nothing, we just came to bring you these things," Su Wan said with a beaming smile.
"Let's go, let's not be in the way here," Jiang Father also said with a smile.
Jiang Shu waved his hand, personally seeing the two elders out.
After watching them return to their adjacent villa, Jiang Shu went back inside, locking the door from the inside to prevent them from just coming over again.
After doing all that, he turned off the living room TV and lights and went upstairs to the second floor.
In the bedroom.
As soon as Jiang Shu opened the door, he saw Sakura squatting in front of the closet, fiddling with something.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Shu closed the door and walked over curiously.
"I'm preparing the clothes I'm going to wear tomorrow," Sakura said, constantly changing the tops and bottoms of the clothes piled in front of her, considering various combinations for tomorrow's outfit.
"What shoes are you wearing tomorrow?" Jiang Shu stood by and watched for a while. Seeing that Sakura still hadn't made a choice, he asked.
"The white sneakers," Sakura replied honestly, though she didn't quite understand why he asked.
"Then..." Jiang Shu stepped forward and took out a black short skirt and a black one-shoulder, crop-top vest. "Black and white, a classic combination."
Sakura stood up, laid the two clothes out on the bed, examined them for a moment, then nodded seriously.
"Then this is the one!"
"I've thought about it, I won't go to tomorrow's random dance event. If I go, you guys probably won't be able to relax," Jiang Shu said.
"Okay." Sakura reached out and set the clothes aside, ready to wear them directly when she woke up tomorrow, then began to re-hang the other clothes.
Jiang Shu sat on the edge of the bed, quietly watching her hang clothes. As Sakura busied herself, a familiar fragrance occasionally emanated from her, keeping Jiang Shu's gaze firmly locked on Sakura, not moving an inch.
Soon, Sakura had hung all the clothes. The moment she closed the closet door, a force came from behind her.
"Ah!"
Sakura couldn't help but let out a gasp, and then her entire body was thrown onto the soft, large bed.
Accompanied by increasingly heavy breathing, the night deepened...
