Chapter 36: Dance Performance Director
At 3:23 PM, Sister Dance Studio.
A black Panamera pulled up to the main entrance of the studio.
Chairman Jiang looked at the sign above the door through the car window and rolled it down.
With such a car blocking the entrance, the receptionist, unless blind, would surely notice it.
Upon seeing Chairman Jiang roll down his window, she pushed open the door and stepped out.
"I am Jiang Shu, we have an appointment. Where can I park the car?" Chairman Jiang asked.
"You are Chairman Jiang of DM Entertainment?" The receptionist was momentarily stunned. "You can park the car right here."
"Won't it block the entrance?" Chairman Jiang asked, puzzled.
"It's fine, our studio operates by appointment only. We don't accommodate unbooked guests," the receptionist said with a smile.
Non-clients certainly wouldn't be allowed to park here, but since he was a client, it was no problem.
"No photos, right?" Chairman Jiang asked again.
"I'll keep an eye out for you."
Chairman Jiang nodded at her words, then looked back at Shin Ryujin in the passenger seat.
"Get out."
"Yes!"
He turned off the engine and got out of the car.
The receptionist took another look at Shin Ryujin, who had gotten out of the passenger seat. This girl had a really good figure and was quite pretty.
She didn't pay it much mind, simply assuming she was Chairman Jiang's companion.
"Chairman Jiang, please come this way. Our Studio Director Yin Huilin is already waiting for you," the receptionist said respectfully.
"Mm, lead the way," Chairman Jiang said, hooking his car keys onto his waist.
Shin Ryujin followed closely behind Chairman Jiang, entering the dance studio.
She curiously watched the dancers practicing in the first-floor practice room. Even simple movements made Shin Ryujin's eyes widen.
So... so amazing!
An expert knows the ropes. As a dance student with high dance talent, the skill level of these dancers was evident at a glance.
As expected of a studio specializing in choreography for entertainment companies, the dancers under their wing were all so impressive.
Chairman Jiang, however, didn't pay much attention to these dancers. He merely glanced at them before looking away.
However, the two of them, being the only outsiders, attracted the attention of quite a few dancers.
"This handsome guy is so good-looking," a free dancer nudged the girl next to her and said.
Among a group of double-lidded female dancers, the only one with single eyelids, Seulgi, looked blankly at Chairman Jiang and Youzhen walking down the corridor.
"What do they do?"
"They're from an entertainment company. It seems they're here to ask us to choreograph for them."
"Oh."
"Youzhen, aren't you curious which company they're from?"
"Youzhen?" The dancer saw that the girl wasn't responding, so she couldn't help but turn her head, only to see that the girl named Seulgi had, at some point, run to the corner to study a musical score.
She shook her head helplessly.
"She has vocal cord nodules, but she's still not giving up on singing."
Never mind, let her be.
Second floor.
Chairman Jiang brought Shin Ryujin to the studio's only second floor and met a gentle-looking woman in her thirties.
Chairman Jiang was slightly surprised when he saw her. He felt like she looked a little familiar.
"Chairman Jiang, hello." Studio Director Yin Huilin rose from her desk upon seeing Chairman Jiang and bowed slightly in greeting.
"Hello, Studio Director Yin Huilin," Chairman Jiang said, his gaze briefly sweeping over the nameplate on her desk.
Studio Director, Yin Huilin.
Hmm?
Who?
Chairman Jiang raised an eyebrow and looked at the woman again.
He remembered where he had seen this woman before.
She was SEVENTEEN's Dance Performance Director!
Chairman Jiang had often seen fans arguing over Yin Huilin in SEVENTEEN's comment sections.
Some fans believed that Yin Huilin's choreography was a major factor in SEVENTEEN's success, while others considered Yin Huilin a burden to SEVENTEEN.
Both sides held their ground and frequently argued.
Chairman Jiang had followed the drama a few times, remembered Yin Huilin's name, and had seen videos of Yin Huilin several times.
Thinking of this, Chairman Jiang's gaze towards Yin Huilin changed.
A talent!
Although he didn't know why Pledis Entertainment's Dance Performance Director would be here and even open such a dance studio, he couldn't let go of such a talent once he encountered her.
Under Yin Huilin's puzzled gaze, Chairman Jiang stepped forward.
"Studio Director Yin Huilin, are you interested in becoming the Dance Performance Director at our DM Entertainment?"
Yin Huilin: "Huh?"
Shin Ryujin: "?!"
The receptionist, who had just arrived at the stairwell and was about to go downstairs: "!!!"
After her surprise, Yin Huilin also noticed Chairman Jiang's expression and couldn't help but feel a little curious.
"Chairman Jiang, why do you have such an idea?"
"I have seen Teacher Huilin's choreography, and I believe you are fully capable of serving as the Dance Performance Director at our DM Entertainment!"
He had seen a hammer!
Well, that's not right.
He had seen SEVENTEEN's dances in his previous life, so how could he not have seen them?
"Chairman Jiang, don't joke," Yin Huilin said with a chuckle, shaking her head. "How could I be qualified for a director position?"
Yin Huilin had never encountered Chairman Jiang's recruitment method of offering a high-level position right off the bat.
Although her work was closely related to K-pop, it wasn't enough for her to leap from being a dance studio director to an entertainment company's dance performance director, was it?
"I'm not joking," Chairman Jiang shook his head, looking seriously at Yin Huilin. "Teacher Huilin has such talent, are you content to be a choreographer for life?"
"As long as Teacher Huilin is willing to join DM Entertainment, the choreography for the company's girl group can be handled by Teacher Huilin!" Chairman Jiang said.
Yin Huilin's expression shifted slightly.
It was false to say she wasn't tempted.
While DM Entertainment might not be prominent in K-pop, IVE's rise had spread throughout K-pop, and DM Entertainment, holding IVE as a major asset, had been making headlines recently.
If she joined DM Entertainment as a high-level executive at this time, and DM Entertainment grew stronger in the future, it would be an excellent investment.
And she possessed talent in choreography, so even if DM Entertainment went bankrupt, she could always go back to her old profession.
Moreover, the most important thing was that the ceiling of a dance studio was limited; compared to entering an entertainment company, which was a smooth path, it was far too different.
"To be honest, Chairman Jiang, you've convinced me," Yin Huilin said helplessly.
She was swayed by just a few words; this man really had grasped her thoughts.
"I just believe that Teacher Huilin's talent shouldn't stop here," Chairman Jiang said with a smile, seeing Yin Huilin relent.
"I can join DM Entertainment, but I have a condition," Yin Huilin mused for a moment, looking at Chairman Jiang.
"Please state it."
"My dancers, if they are unwilling to leave, I hope Chairman Jiang can also take them in."
What the heck?
Such a good thing exists?
Chairman Jiang's eyes immediately lit up.
What DM Entertainment lacked most right now were producers and teachers—vocal teachers, dance teachers, and so on.
He went to S.M to borrow people, and they were also teachers.
Yin Huilin's condition was not a condition at all; it was a gift!
"Teacher Huilin, don't worry. If your dancers are willing, all of them can join our DM Entertainment."
