Chapter 395: Job Levels
Li Duohui spoke only after seeing the elevator doors close.
"Zheng Xu was also involved in the IZONE incident. Do we really need to bring them along?"
JYP was involved in the anti-DM alliance.
"It doesn't matter," Jiang Shu smiled. "Don't worry about what they did before. From the results, we've already gained enough benefits."
He could even turn enemies into friends with YG, so JYP, who didn't contribute much, was even less of a concern.
"Understood," Li Duohui said no more after hearing this.
This was the difference between DM and JYP; when it came to making crucial decisions, Jiang Shu's influence was quite significant.
"You're in charge of notifying Xiao Liu and Yuna," Jiang Shu casually instructed Li Duohui. "I still have to go to Music Bank this afternoon, so I'm too busy."
"Every comeback, you, President, are the busiest," Li Duohui said with a smile.
"I brought it on myself, so what can I do?" Jiang Shu sighed, stopping at the office door. "Are you coming in to sit for a bit?"
"No," Li Duohui glanced at Zhang Yuanying inside the office, shook her head with a smile, and said, "I still have some things to deal with, so I'll go first."
"Alright."
After watching Li Duohui leave, Jiang Shu pushed the door open and returned to his office.
"President Ouba," Seeing Jiang Shu return, Zhang Yuanying, who was looking up at the tea cabinet, immediately turned around.
"What are you looking at?"
"Your tea leaves seem to be much less," Zhang Yuanying said, pointing at the tea cabinet in front of her.
Jiang Shu walked over and took a look.
"Xiao Liu took them, I suppose."
"Karina?" Zhang Yuanying looked at Jiang Shu in surprise. "When did she start drinking tea?"
"For gifting. When she came over before, I told her if she didn't know what to give as a gift, she could take some tea leaves from me."
"Oh."
"Same for you," Jiang Shu walked around Zhang Yuanying to the refrigerator. "If you need to give a gift, just take tea leaves from me. I don't drink it anyway."
"Then how do you entertain guests?" Zhang Yuanying turned around, following Jiang Shu's movement, and asked.
"The tea for entertaining guests is kept downstairs," Jiang Shu pointed to the closed cabinet door below the tea cabinet. "You can just take the ones from up here."
"Speaking of which, no one has sent me tea leaves recently," Jiang Shu muttered, only taking out and not receiving. Even Zhang Yuanying noticed that there were far fewer tea leaves.
"Is President Ouba hinting that I should send some tea leaves?" Zhang Yuanying raised an eyebrow and said with a smile.
"Go play somewhere else," Jiang Shu squinted at her. "Do I care about your little bit of tea leaves?"
"Hehe!" Zhang Yuanying chuckled.
"What do you want to drink?" Jiang Shu took a bottle of cola for himself and asked.
"Thank you, I'm not thirsty."
Jiang Shu never stood on ceremony with people; he just asked once, and if Zhang Yuanying said she wasn't thirsty, then that was that.
He closed the refrigerator door, took a glass from a nearby cabinet, added ice cubes, poured in cola, and a glass of iced cola was thus completed.
"Who cleans the President's office, like these glass cups? Is it the cleaners?" Zhang Yuanying asked curiously, watching Jiang Shu's actions.
"Cleaners can't go up to the fifth floor," Jiang Shu said casually, picking up the cola and chugging it down.
"Oh, right."
Even regular employees couldn't go up to the fifth floor, let alone outsourced cleaning staff.
"Then who is responsible for the cleaning here?"
"The assistants of the executives discuss it among themselves. On the fifth floor, besides executives above director level, there are only secretaries and assistants. Secretaries are busy with official duties, so this kind of work is naturally done by assistants. Office cleaning is also the assistants' responsibility."
"Then the assistants' salaries must be very high, right?"
"Don't you know that salaries are supposed to be confidential?" Jiang Shu raised an eyebrow, looking at Zhang Yuanying.
Not just them, most companies keep employee salaries confidential.
Of course, most confidentiality is just a formality; employees can figure it out by comparing notes privately.
Salary confidentiality is usually thoroughly enforced in finance-related fields.
K-pop entertainment companies are alright; employees' salaries generally follow the principle of equal pay for equal work, and confidentiality is simply a matter of industry practice, a formality signed.
"I didn't sign it," Zhang Yuanying said, blinking.
Jiang Shu paused. She was right.
Artists indeed didn't sign that kind of thing.
"Alright, you win," Jiang Shu nodded. "The salaries of executives' assistants are determined by the executive's level. My assistant's salary is generally 150% to 200% of a deputy director's assistant."
"That much higher?" Zhang Yuanying's eyes widened.
"Do you know our company's job levels?"
"I think it's something like R1 to R7?" Zhang Yuanying thought for a moment, recalling her manager Ouni mentioning it; she was R5, she thought?
"Yes, there are seven levels in total, covering all employees, including myself. R1 is the lowest, R7 is the highest."
"Only President Li and I are R7, the highest level. R6 is the director level, limited to full-time directors. The company's department heads also serve as deputy directors, so they don't belong to this level, but rather the R5 below. R5 starts with middle management, and employees of various levels below fall into place accordingly."
"But why don't I have a job level?" Zhang Yuanying asked again.
"Artists don't have a basic salary; it's all based on schedules and comeback profit sharing, so you aren't part of the job level classification, and your salaries are calculated separately," Jiang Shu explained.
"I see," Zhang Yuanying nodded in understanding. "But I remember my manager Ouni's job level is R5, even though she's not middle management."
"The general managers for the company's artist groups are all R5, and the sub-managers are R4."
"That's quite a high level."
"It's just a salary level, which is different from a management level," Jiang Shu shook his head. Managers and department heads might have the same salary level, but their management levels were vastly different.
"If the job levels are the same, are the salaries also the same?"
"Definitely not," Jiang Shu looked at Zhang Yuanying amusedly. "Take your managers, for example. Can the manager of IZONE and the manager of Red Velvet have the same salary? A portion of your schedule earnings is shared with your manager."
"Besides that, do you think if managers earned as much as these department heads, these department heads wouldn't go on strike and leave?"
Zhang Yuanying nodded in agreement.
It was fine if artists earned more than department heads, after all, the company made money through artists. But if managers also earned the same, that would be unacceptable, wouldn't it?
Wouldn't my position as management be pointless?
"Then, not counting stock dividends and other miscellaneous income, how much is your salary alone?" Zhang Yuanying's eyes darted around, and she leaned closer to Jiang Shu to ask.
"Does that include the year-end bonus?"
The President and President also received year-end bonuses, after all, Jiang Shu worked no less than anyone else each year, practically a model worker in the industry.
"Yes!"
