Chapter 412: Little follower

Chapter 412: Little Follower

Jiang Shu put the milk tea aside and flipped through Wu Haiyuan’s medical record book.

He flipped two pages and then put it down.

He couldn’t understand it.

However, from the printed conclusions, there didn’t seem to be any problems.

The handwritten content was truly a universal medical language; an outsider couldn’t understand a single bit of it.

He looked up at Wu Haiyuan, who was chewing pearls.

“Do you have any plans tonight?”

Wu Haiyuan was startled, and then a bad feeling surfaced in her heart.

“No… no.”

“Okay, come with me to a place.”

“…Yes.”

Wu Haiyuan’s heart rate quietly accelerated.

Could it be that he wanted to…

“Hahaha, Chairman Jiang gracing us with his presence is truly an honor!”

A middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes walked over, laughing loudly, and stopped in front of Jiang Shu and Wu Haiyuan before shaking hands with Jiang Shu.

“Chairman Fang, you’re too kind,” Jiang Shu said with a faint smile.

Wu Haiyuan, standing beside him, watched this scene, her mouth twitching slightly.

So it was a banquet; she had thought the evening activity was… uh… well, she had overthought it.

Chairman Fang glanced at Wu Haiyuan beside Jiang Shu, a hint of confusion appearing in his eyes.

Jiang Shu was dressed casually, just a casual suit, which was fine, since he was the most important person at this event and could wear whatever he wanted.

But why was Wu Haiyuan also in casual clothes?

Only a few of the guests present didn’t recognize Wu Haiyuan. Everyone was a K-pop professional, or at least worked in an industry related to K-pop. Although NMIXX wasn’t as popular as the top groups, it was still JYP’s current flagship girl group.

As the leader, Wu Haiyuan’s recognition among these guests was sufficient.

“Hae Won, you can go look around. Chairman Fang and I have some things to discuss,” Jiang Shu said to Wu Haiyuan.

“Yes.” Wu Haiyuan nodded and darted away in a flash.

“The girl you mentioned bringing on the phone turns out to be Wu Haiyuan xi, the leader of NMIXX,” Chairman Fang said with a smile.

“Mm.” Jiang Shu also smiled. The reason he called ahead to say he was bringing a girl was to prevent Chairman Fang from arranging the same kind of event as before.

If he hadn’t said anything, this wouldn’t be the current scene of a grand, glittering banquet with everyone in suits and ties.

“Let’s continue with today’s setup for the next period of time,” Jiang Shu said.

Chairman Fang was startled upon hearing this.

“Will she be coming again?”

“She’s going to follow me for a month.”

A large question mark appeared on Chairman Fang’s forehead.

“When did you change your taste?”

“Get lost.” Jiang Shu gave him an annoyed look. “There’s another reason.”

Chairman Fang was not angry at being scolded; instead, he laughed.

“It’s quite rare for you to bring her here.”

“Your place isn’t somewhere people can’t be seen,” Jiang Shu retorted.

Every industry has its own high-end entertainment venues.

Lee Seung-hyun’s ventures were similar, but his were illegal. Chairman Fang’s place, however, was legal.

Though referred to as Chairman, he was actually the caretaker of this entertainment city; the true owner was someone else.

Jiang Shu knew who it was, but he pretended not to know.

There was no need to worry about so much; he was just here to have fun.

“Do you need me to arrange more meetings with K-pop industry leaders for you in the coming period?”

“No need.” Jiang Shu shook his head slightly. “Don’t pay too much attention to her. She’s just a follower; treat her as my assistant.”

Assistants didn’t need to avoid such entertainment, but Jiang Shu was, after all, their important client, so his words were law.

“Understood.”

After finishing the conversation, Jiang Shu quickly scanned the room and easily found Wu Haiyuan’s location.

There were many artists present, but they were usually called to accompany guests. However, Wu Haiyuan had come with Jiang Shu, so naturally, no one foolish enough would go and bother her.

Instead, many industry seniors, nominally Wu Haiyuan’s seniors, gathered around her, trying to build connections.

“Haiyuan xi is very popular,” Chairman Fang also noticed this scene and said with a smile.

“Heh, just making small talk,” Jiang Shu glanced at him and said. “Tell the kitchen to prepare some Japanese food. I suddenly want Japanese food, but no sashimi.”

“Okay.” Chairman Fang responded with a smile, raised his hand to call over a waiter, and arranged it.

Jiang Shu didn’t bother with him and walked straight towards Wu Haiyuan.

“Haiyuan xi, I am…”

“Miss Hae Won, I am…”

“I am…”

Wu Haiyuan was surrounded by industry seniors, and even though her social skills were decent, she was starting to feel overwhelmed.

But they were all seniors, so she couldn’t act too strongly. She could only endure her discomfort and force herself to deal with these people with feigned enthusiasm.

In her heart, she secretly prayed for it to end quickly.

“Chairman Jiang!”

Someone noticed Jiang Shu approaching and greeted him respectfully.

The others also stopped bothering Wu Haiyuan upon hearing this. They had come to meet Wu Haiyuan to get to know Jiang Shu, and now that the main person was here, why would they still care about Wu Haiyuan?

Jiang Shu frowned as he watched the artists who were about to surround him.

The surrounding artists were as if struck by lightning, quickly lowering their heads and making way.

“Chairman Jiang, I…” Someone hadn’t seen Jiang Shu’s frown and was still trying to introduce themselves.

“Get out.” Jiang Shu looked at him coldly.

The next second, two waiters appeared out of nowhere, one on each side of the artist.

“Madam, please leave the venue.”

The artist’s face turned pale, but she didn’t dare to resist, lowering her head and following the waiters out.

“Hae Won, let’s go,” Jiang Shu called out to Wu Haiyuan, who was still in a daze.

“Oh, oh.” Wu Haiyuan snapped back to reality and scurried to catch up with Jiang Shu. As she passed, she glanced at the artists, their foreheads covered in cold sweat, a sight that deeply imprinted itself on Wu Haiyuan’s mind.

This was the first time she had so directly felt the extent of the power Jiang Shu wielded.

Although she didn’t know what would happen to that senior artist afterwards, she had a vague feeling that their career might end there.

Thinking of this, Wu Haiyuan couldn’t help but feel a hint of fear in her eyes as she looked at Jiang Shu’s back.

Jiang Shu paused, then suddenly turned around, meeting Wu Haiyuan’s fearful gaze directly.

“Are you afraid of me?”

“No, no!” Wu Haiyuan instinctively shook her head.

“What are you afraid of?” Jiang Shu suddenly laughed. “Or do you think I’ll treat you the same way I dealt with that person?”

Is… huh?

Wu Haiyuan was just startled by the sudden thought, but when she calmed down and thought about it, this wasn’t right.

Why should she care how Chairman Jiang treated other people?

She wasn’t other people.

Jiang Shu took in the changes in Wu Haiyuan’s expression, chuckled, and reached out to pat Wu Haiyuan’s shoulder.

“You’re my little follower. Don’t think about such unnecessary things.”

Little… little follower?

Wu Haiyuan was stunned, looking blankly at Jiang Shu, and pointed to herself.

“Yes, for the next month, you’ll be my follower.”

That’s not the point…

Wu Haiyuan blinked.
