Chapter 53: Jump off the plane

Chapter 53: Let's Jump Off the Plane~~

The IVE girls had hotpot and watched movies at Jiang Shu’s house, not finishing until around eight or nine in the evening.

After everyone left, Jiang Shu turned on the living room's ventilation system. The entire room smelled of hotpot, and if he didn't do anything, it would linger for days.

After doing all that, Jiang Shu returned to his room and lay down.

The ventilation system ran all night, and by the time he woke up the next day, there was basically no smell left, except when he got close to the coffee table, where he could still detect it. These were scents that had seeped into the sofa and would take more time to dissipate.

After sending a message to the cleaning lady, Jiang Shu began to wash up and prepare to go out.

As a true second-generation heir, although he wanted to work hard to start a business and prove himself, and he did put in effort in that regard, in terms of daily life, he was as lazy as could be, regularly hiring a cleaning lady to tidy up his home.

Jiang Shu wasn't lazy, but if he had money and could pay others to do it, why would he do it himself?

What's the difference between earning money and not spending it, just leaving it in the bank, and not earning it at all?

Taking the elevator down to the first floor, the community's parking lots were all on the first floor; there were no underground parking lots.

This community consisted either of villas or large flat-floor apartments, with very few households, so an underground parking lot was completely unnecessary. The above-ground parking spaces were never full; there were parking spots everywhere.

Basically, when you bought a house, you'd get two to three parking spaces included. The villa area was even more generous, providing four or five based on the area.

Usually, less than half of the community's parking spaces were occupied.

He pressed a switch to open the floor's access control.

High-end communities had this slight inconvenience: there was access control everywhere. Of course, the safety was truly reliable, and a bit of inconvenience was no longer a drawback when compared to safety issues.

As soon as Jiang Shu came out, he saw two black Alphard vans pull up one after another at the entrance.

As DM Entertainment's only two Alphard vans, Jiang Shu recognized them as IVE's at a glance.

"President nim!"

The manager, assistant, and two drivers all got out after parking and jogged over to Jiang Shu to bow.

"Coming to pick up the girls for work?" Jiang Shu asked casually.

"Yes! There's a recording for 'Running Man' these two days. This is IVE's first large variety show, so it's better for us to arrive early," the manager replied.

When 'Running Man' was mentioned, Jiang Shu finally remembered.

Due to the lagging development of K-pop, the variety show industry was also in an awkward stage, similar to the early 2000s. Jiang Shu had observed before that while there were many variety shows now, they were still somewhat lacking compared to the diverse shows that would emerge later.

Currently, the variety show with the highest national popularity was still 'Running Man,' and even 'We Got Married' was still widely popular.

Tsk, Jiang Shu suddenly realized that if his company couldn't make it, he could still get rich by selling variety show ideas.

"Go on up." Jiang Shu waved his hand, not chatting with them much, and turned to walk away directly.

"Goodbye, President nim!" The group bowed to Jiang Shu's departing back.

...

DM Entertainment.

"Good morning, President!"

"President, good morning!"

"Good morning, President!"

The staff along the way all greeted Jiang Shu with cheerful smiles, showing a positive and enthusiastic demeanor, with smiles on everyone's faces, looking quite pleased.

Jiang Shu walked around the corner towards his office.

The trainees' practice rooms were on the path to the President's office, but they weren't too close. The practice sessions made quite a bit of noise, but since the gym was downstairs, they didn't mind. Otherwise, there would definitely be complaints.

As soon as Jiang Shu reached the practice room door, he saw two figures inside.

Today was Tuesday, and all the company's trainees had school, except for...

Jiang Shu stopped, standing at the doorway, watching Lee Ji-eun and Bae Joo-hyun, who each occupied half of the room, not disturbing each other.

Lee Ji-eun wore headphones, sitting on the side near the door, humming along to a song in her hand.

On the other side, Bae Joo-hyun was practicing her dance in front of the mirror. Her movements were quite sharp; although not as crisp, clean, and graceful as those dancers under Yin Huilin, they at least had some flair.

Upon seeing Lee Ji-eun, Jiang Shu remembered that he hadn't given her the debut song he had prepared for her yet.

Without disturbing the two who were practicing, Jiang Shu quietly walked away.

Back in his office, he called Choi Ji-yeon over.

"President."

Jiang Shu picked up the song file from his desk and handed it to Choi Ji-yeon.

"Go register the copyright with the Music Association. Also, ask the Music Association when we can share our company's music library."

Once the company's music library was shared, they wouldn't need to register copyrights one by one with the Music Association. As long as songs were uploaded to DM Entertainment's internal music library, the Music Association would automatically receive them, conduct duplicate checks and reviews, and issue copyrights if there were no issues.

This was a quick copyright registration method for entertainment companies. DM Entertainment was almost bankrupt before, so the Music Association certainly wouldn't waste resources on them.

"Understood."

Choi Ji-yeon took the file and glanced at the song title.

"Good Day"

Producer: Jiang Shu

Lyricist: Jiang Shu

Composer: Jiang Shu

Arranger: Jiang Shu

Demo: Jiang Shu

It was another self-composed song by their President.

"This song is prepared as Lee Ji-eun's debut song. Her stage name will be IU. I is for Lee Ji-eun, and U is for the listeners and fans," Jiang Shu told Choi Ji-yeon.

"Okay, I will give it to Ji-eun," Choi Ji-yeon nodded in agreement.

"When will IVE's debut MV be released?"

"In three minutes," Choi Ji-yeon replied, glancing at the office clock.

That would be ten in the morning.

Jiang Shu made an 'okay' gesture.

"You go handle it."

Choi Ji-yeon bowed to Jiang Shu, then exited the office.

Jiang Shu turned on his computer, opened his most frequently used music software, searched for IVE, looked at the solitary song, and waited.

When the time on the computer reached ten o'clock, he refreshed the page, and a small TV icon appeared next to the song 'I AM'.

Clicking on it, IVE's completed debut MV popped up.

How could the classic 'hopscotch' (jumping off the plane) segment from 'I AM' be missing?

Although the alternative version of IVE's debut MV didn't take a mature route compared to the original, Zhang Yuanying's 'hopscotch' and IVE's group dance on the plane were both arranged and in place.

The original MV gave Jiang Shu a feeling that IVE earned money, but Starship (the original agency) was still very provincial.

Jiang Shu could see that the MV intended to convey a superstar feeling, but the filming result had a sort of 'countryside rave' vibe.

The MV and the song felt like they were doing their own separate things.

The last time Jiang Shu had this feeling was with Jay Chou's 'Red Dust Like Frost'.

The song was Chinese style, but the MV was in an American style like the Jabbawockeez, making the whole thing a complete mess.

So, Jiang Shu had someone revise the alternative version of IVE's 'I AM' MV, changing it to a style where youthful girls stood on stage, about to showcase their superstar potential.

Watching the whole thing... the effect wasn't bad, was it?
