Chapter 5: Nick Fury's attention

The car window rolled down, allowing the cool night breeze to gently caress his face.

Su Ming looked at the brightly lit buildings on the opposite bank—that was the night view of Manhattan.

Three to five HYDRA Agents were, of course, no match for Su Ming, but the unlucky Baling was once again hit by a stray bullet and met his maker on the spot.

Recalling the information Baling revealed before his death.

It turned out that Su Ming's trip to Hell's Kitchen to deliver a message was merely Baling's preemptive move to infiltrate Kingpin's organization's heartland.

Unfortunately, before Su Ming could even reach the mission location, Baling impatiently spread the information that Su Ming was a traitor and possessed important organizational secrets.

What Baling hadn't anticipated was the immense hatred these fanatical believers in the organization held for traitors, which even boosted their work efficiency considerably.

This ultimately led to Su Ming's desperate counter-attack.

With Su Ming's current strength, he no longer cared about the schemes and intrigues between gangs.

But he knew that within the next month, a secret Vibranium transaction would take place in Hell's Kitchen.

Vibranium. Captain America's shield contains this metal, and it's also the material used to make the Black Panther suit.

Although this metal was very expensive, Su Ming currently had no particular thoughts about it; the information was too vague, and he couldn't find any useful clues from it.

However, one location sparked Su Ming's deep curiosity—an underground exchange located in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan.

This was a place where good and bad mixed.

As long as you had money, drugs, women, narcotics, and even firearms could be obtained; similarly, it was also a place where various capital groups issued bounty missions.

As a Bounty Hunter, even as a novice, one should at least know where to pick up missions.

This was what Su Ming had his eyes on.

He found that he had killed dozens, if not a hundred, HYDRA Agents so far, but it seemed only the scar-faced man from the black clinic had resulted in a bounty for him.

In the uninspired memories of his predecessor, the HYDRA organization had infiltrated all sectors of society, even having a presence within S.H.I.E.L.D., but there were actually not many Agents who stepped forward to do dirty work and thus had bounties on their heads.

This made Su Ming decisively abandon the idea of hunting HYDRA organization Agents to earn bounties.

Speaking of money, an arrogant mustache appeared in Su Ming's mind—Tony Stark.

Stark Industries is a top global weapons developer; he's absolutely rolling in money…

This near-demonic genius doesn't seem to have become Iron Man yet.

The two million voluntarily transferred by Baling opened a new door for Su Ming.

This was absolutely not extortion, but a mutually agreeable transaction.

Yes, that's it.

With over two million U.S. dollars currently in his account, although he could exchange for some abilities, Su Ming decided to first understand his new work environment before making a decision.

With that thought, Su Ming pressed hard on the accelerator, and the Mustang sports car roared—this was once Baling's favorite sound.

Under the powerful enhancement of Dynamic Vision, even reaching 300 mph did not cause Su Ming any tension.

The bright red taillights vanished into the distance in an instant…

Washington.

The Three-Winged Building stood quietly on the island, the night wind rustling the leaves, causing ripples in the surrounding water.

Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division

A hurried sound of high heels echoed outside the Director's office.

The bald, one-eyed black man in a black leather trench coat—Nick Fury—shifted his gaze from the distant Washington Monument to the interior:

“Maria, what happened?”

Maria Hill efficiently placed the documents in her hand on the Director's desk:

“Director Fury, it's news from Brooklyn.”

Her cold and alluring appearance revealed a capable military demeanor; after speaking, she remained silent, as if to say:

“The documents are right there, read them yourself!”

Nick Fury looked at the graceful young woman before him, and a hint of playfulness arose:

“Somehow, my eyes haven't been feeling well lately…

Sigh~

You know, this eye of mine has endured too much over the years…”

He had no intention of reading the documents himself.

Maria Hill secretly rolled her eyes and spoke crisply:

“The head of the HYDRA organization in the Brooklyn area has been eliminated.”

“What?”

Upon hearing this, Nick Fury immediately grabbed the documents on the desk and read them carefully, his expression extremely serious:

“I remember Baling has been entrenched in Brooklyn for nearly ten years. What kind of formidable character could have eliminated him? A Mutant?”

At the end of the document was a photo. The man in the photo had an East Asian face, black messy hair, deep brown eyes, long narrow eyes, and delicate features with a hint of nobility—it was Su Ming.

“Oh? It's a young man! Su Ming?”

Maria Hill promptly added to her report:

“It's Su Ming, Director Fury.

When our people arrived, they found that all the HYDRA Agents present had died from a single blow—their necks were twisted.

And Baling seemed to have died in a shootout; it's estimated that at least a thousand bullets were fired at the scene, and one wall of the bar was almost completely destroyed.

But no blood, DNA, or other information about Su Ming was found.

Through investigation, the HYDRA Brooklyn branch had recently been hunting Su Ming, claiming he was a traitor to the HYDRA organization and possessed important intelligence.”

“The interesting thing is… a taxi driver claimed to have been robbed on the road leading to the Sunset Fence Bar before Baling's death.

Through questioning and comparison, it was confirmed to be this person.”

Nick Fury put down the documents and paced back and forth in his office, muttering:

“Scorpion Baling, we've been watching him for so many years, and he was taken out by an unknown young punk?”

Maria Hill said seriously:

“Director Fury, I must remind you that anyone capable of uprooting a HYDRA organization stronghold is by no means an ordinary person.”

Nick Fury slowly nodded, licking his lips:

“Agent Hill, have the brothers in Brooklyn continue to keep an eye on this Su Ming. I want more intelligence about him!”

Su Ming drove over the famous Brooklyn Bridge, not rushing to the location he had scouted.

Instead, he checked into a room at the Manhattan Hotel, took a leisurely shower, and changed his clothes.

His battle-damaged suit was already tattered, and after several battles, Su Ming was covered in gunpowder and the smell of blood, which made him very uncomfortable.

Looking at himself in the mirror, Su Ming felt that his standard handsome East Asian appearance was too conspicuous in New York City.

So he browsed the System Store to see if he could find any items that could change his appearance.

After flipping through dozens of pages, just as Su Ming was about to give up, his gaze locked onto a talent.

“Did I walk onto the wrong set?” A thought flashed through his mind.

As Su Ming opened the talent description, he let out a long “Oh.”

“Tuxedo Mask → Faceless Mask, $100,000”

“Description: When wearing the mask, you will become the noblest prince under the starry sky, suitable for concealing identity and appearance.”

“Exchange!”

After waiting for a long time, Su Ming didn't feel any changes. He opened his panel in confusion:

“Name: Su Ming”

“Age: 28”

“Physical Fitness: 9”

“Current Account: $1,901,380”

“Existing Talents: Sub-Wolverine Level Recovery, Dynamic Vision Lv.1, Jeet Kune Do Mastery, Constitution Enhancement Lv1 (2/5 stages), Faceless Mask”

The new talent was clearly listed.

Su Ming asked a waiter for a half-mask for a ball, intending to see how the new talent worked.

After putting on the mask, Su Ming immediately felt his entire aura change.

Looking at himself in the mirror—his whole body actually exuded an eerie charm, and the gaze beneath the mask became noble and sinister.

He was simply poison to all women!

“This… is a bit too handsome!”

He accepted this talent with a wry smile. Since it could hide his appearance, being handsome was fine…

Appearing on the streets of Manhattan again, Su Ming looked tall and distinguished in a sharp suit and an English-style trench coat.

Girls heading to parties turned their heads to look.

Touching the mask in his pocket, Su Ming walked in a certain direction, relying on his memory…
