The setting sun slowly sank behind the mountains, dyeing the entire sky a brilliant crimson.
The afterglow spilled over the land, casting its Radiance upon all things.
Chen Kai, in a joyful mood, walked down the mountain path step by step, exclaiming, “Sometimes, you just have to walk on your own like this!”
He patted the Treecko perched on his head.
“If we clear a few more Tera Crystal Pits tomorrow, you’ll be able to evolve!”
Treecko was filled with anticipation: “Chamoo.” (I can’t wait.)
Chen Kai arrived at his doorstep and saw two tall figures in the distance.
One of the figures, seeing someone approaching, hastily departed.
Only when Chen Kai got closer did he realize that the remaining figure was Exeggutor.
“Exeggutor, what are you doing?” Chen Kai asked curiously.
The Hydrapples, who had a good relationship with Exeggutor, also ran out and asked curiously, “Honey?” (Who was that?)
Exeggutor, however, stammered, “Egg… Egg.” (Nothing… I wasn’t doing anything.)
It pushed Chen Kai and the Hydrapples towards the house.
“Egg, egg!” (Quick, quick! Let’s go inside for dinner!)
Chen Kai and the Hydrapples could only beg for mercy: “Okay, okay, stop pushing, we won’t ask anymore.”
Chen Ma saw this scene and laughed as she complained to Chen Ba, “These rascals are back after messing around.”
Everything was as usual that evening, except Chen Ma, seeing how idle Chen Kai was, and with the National Day holiday approaching after this week, told him that he should at least go to school before the holiday.
Not attending school for over half a month was a bit unseemly.
Chen Kai planned to visit Area Zero again on Thursday, at least clearing one or two more Tera Crystal Pits.
He would go to school on Friday, which would be a good opportunity to ask Huang Mao about the specific details for the Zigong trip.
The next day, it was drizzling in Area Zero, but this did not affect Chen Kai’s good mood.
“Xiao Mei, use Electric Net! Control the damage, don’t knock it out instantly.
Treecko, finish it off with another Super Drain!”
Xiao Mei nodded, using only five-tenths of her strength, but stretched the Electric Net wide to restrain the opposing Tera Rock Pachirisu.
This nearly 2-meter-tall giant Pachirisu had already taken a beating for a long time and was severely wounded.
And its moves, whether Electric or Seed Bomb, did not deal much damage to Chen Kai’s Pokemon.
Even setting up Electric Terrain boosted Xiao Mei’s damage.
The only decently damaging Quick Attack was always countered by Treecko’s newly learned Quick Guard.
After taking another Super Drain, even if it didn't faint, it would force itself to faint.
As it collapsed, its Tera form dissipated.
Soon, the Tera Crystal Pit space shattered, and Chen Kai and his Pokemon returned to Area Zero.
Chen Kai held Treecko and approached the crumbling crystal, letting it absorb more.
As specks of starlight touched Treecko’s skin and energy continuously gathered, Treecko’s body was enveloped in a dazzling glow.
Chen Kai released it, allowing Treecko to stand steadily on the ground.
In the drizzling rain, Treecko’s body gradually transformed, becoming taller and more upright, its green color deepening and becoming richer.
Its original tail began to lengthen and thin, and leaves grew from its forehead and elbows.
It grew taller, almost reaching Chen Kai’s chest.
Its limbs became thicker and stronger, and its claws became sharper.
“Cha!”
With a steady sound, the light dispersed.
Chen Kai smiled and praised, “Congratulations, Grovyle! You’ve grown so tall.”
A normal Grovyle is usually less than a meter tall.
Chen Kai gestured; his Grovyle, not counting the leaves on its forehead, was already 1.3 meters tall.
Miraidon said, “It must be thanks to the Moomoo Milk I provided!”
Even before going to bed last night, Treecko had gotten a can of Moomoo Milk from Miraidon.
Big Boss nodded: “Honey, honey, honey!” (Excellent! We should grow taller, learning from Exeggutor senior!)
Chen Kai now looked at the ground after the crystal shattered.
There were two slightly purplish feathers, which were most likely Intelligence Feathers.
There was also a Micle Berry, two Pearls, and most importantly, two brown Tera Shards.
Chen Kai collected these two Rock Tera Shards and carefully hid them.
Although he was still far from 50 shards, and Tera Rock was not very useful to him for now, this was a good start.
Chen Kai wanted to get a Tera Flying type for Xiao Mei, so it could become immune to its only weakness—Ground-type moves. Of course, he could also get a Tera Dragon, to increase more resistances and boost Dragon-type move damage.
For Hydrapple, it would be best to get a Tera Steel, greatly increasing its resistances, and even making it completely immune to Poison-type moves. However, he could also get a Tera Dragon for it, to boost its Dragon-type move damage.
For Grovyle, he would get a Tera Fire, to reduce the damage it takes from Fire, Ice, and Bug-type moves.
Of course, its inherent Tera type is Grass, and he could also get it a Tera Dragon type, which would also boost Dragon-type move damage.
Chen Kai pinched his chin: “Hmm! If I calculate it this way, getting more Dragon-type Tera Shards means I can use them no matter what!”
So Chen Kai tightened the collar of his raincoat, sat on Miraidon’s back, and continued to fly into the sky, searching for new Tera Crystal Pits.
Chen Kai considered getting a rain poncho for Miraidon, but Miraidon actually enjoyed the rain; its scales could repel water.
Only its back was a bit sensitive to the cold, but with Chen Kai sitting on it, it was fine.
Xiao Mei also happily sat on Miraidon’s back; she also quite liked the rain, and since she evolved into Ampharos, she didn’t have to worry about the rain wetting her fur anymore.
“Dragon~!” (I kind of want to generate electricity!)
“No, no, no.” Chen Kai quickly stopped her.
If she discharged electricity in the rain, wouldn’t it become ‘Thunder’?
He couldn’t handle that.
Chen Kai’s nervous reaction made Xiao Mei laugh heartily:
‘Dragon, Dragon~’ (Haha, I’m just teasing you.)
“Roar!”
Suddenly, a low, deep, and powerful roar, like a heavy hammer, struck their ears. The sound seemed to come from an ancient abyss, carrying a chilling sense of oppression.
Chen Kai and Xiao Mei instantly stopped their playful banter, their smiles frozen on their faces.
Chen Kai turned his head to look behind him.
In the dim sky, a somewhat large, red-winged creature flew absurdly towards Chen Kai.
Miraidon also turned to look: “Holy crap, we’re making an emergency landing!”
It quickly descended to the ground, as Iron Bundle, despite having wings, couldn’t actually fly.
None of them had a Pokemon that could battle in the sky.
But Iron Bundle’s voice came through differently this time: “Don’t stop, run! That’s not an ordinary Pokemon, I might not be able to defeat that one!”
Chen Kai looked closely; the Pokemon’s red wing edges were bluish-gray.
Its body was mainly bluish-gray, with white spiky fur on its head, a white face, and fierce eyes.
It looked very similar to Salamence, but its wings were not of a normal shape; instead, they had a crescent moon outline.
Chen Kai exclaimed, “That’s Roaring Moon!”
Chen Kai pulled out his Pokedex to check, and good heavens, it was a Master!
