Zhou Zicheng and Chen Kai quickly set off, searching along the coastline of the southern shore of Ula'ula Island.
They meticulously checked every rock crevice and cave, even thoroughly searching near a strange white building and around the abandoned Kapu Village, but still found no trace of the Exeggutor.
Chen Kai estimated that the white building was similar to the Aether House in Sun and Moon.
Zhou Zicheng reminded Chen Kai not to go there, as it was a government building, generally not open to the public, and an Exeggutor wouldn't be able to enter either.
And just like in the game's setting, Kapu Village on Blue Star was also destroyed by Kapu Mo Mo.
As for what exactly happened, Zhou Zicheng wasn't clear; when his father arrived at Ula'ula Island, it was already in this state.
It was precisely because Kapu Village was abandoned that Boss Zhou was able to rent a site nearby at a suitable price to open a guesthouse.
Chen Kai couldn't help but sigh in his heart: The Alola region on Blue Star was too similar to the original Alola region!
Even France had discrepancies with the game, so why was the Alola region like this?
“Strange…” Chen Kai cast aside his cluttered thoughts, wiping the sweat from his forehead, “Such a big Pokemon, where could it have run off to?”
Zhou Zicheng looked at the distant sea and suggested, “How about we go along Route 12 to Maliye Jing City and look?”
“That’s the only thing we can do.”
After two hours of walking, they arrived at Maliye Jing City on the east side of the island.
This port city was tranquil and peaceful, with diverse architectural styles and numerous bamboo trees, giving it a strong Eastern flavor.
The two searched separately in the city.
Maliye Garden only had common Water-type Pokemon.
The dock workers all said that only Fighting-type Pokemon were moving goods on the pier, and they had not seen an Exeggutor.
They went from one small shop to another on the street, still without a clue.
Just as they were about to give up, they learned from an old woman selling fruit: “Last night, a strange Exeggutor seemed to have appeared near the library…”
“The library?” they both asked in unison.
“Alright, thank you, Grandma!” After Zhou Zicheng thanked her, the two quickly hurried towards the Maliye Jing Library.
As soon as they stepped into the quiet hall, a familiar figure came into view—it was none other than the purple-haired girl, Acerola, from last night!
She was standing in front of a row of ancient book shelves, intently flipping through a thick book.
“Acerola?” Chen Kai exclaimed in surprise.
The girl heard the sound, looked up, closed her book, and smiled as she greeted Chen Kai and him: “Alola! Hello, do you need anything?”
Zhou Zicheng stepped forward and quickly explained their purpose in English: searching for a short, ordinary Exeggutor that might have appeared nearby.
After listening, Acerola gently shook her head: “I wasn’t at the library last night, as you know, so I haven’t seen the Exeggutor you mentioned.”
She paused slightly, her gaze sweeping over the gradually darkening sky outside the window, then added: “However… if you think it might appear, why not wait here? The back of the library leads to the mountain forest, and in the evening… sometimes there are unexpected visitors.”
Chen Kai and Zhou Zicheng exchanged glances and decided to take her advice.
They found a window seat and sat down, pretending to read, but their eyes occasionally darted towards the back door of the library.
Acerola, meanwhile, took Mimikyu and the thick book, sat down at another table not far away, and quietly began to read.
Time slowly passed.
Chen Kai looked at the tree shadows outside the window and couldn't help but secretly observe Acerola, who was quietly reading.
Curiosity finally overcame the awkwardness caused by the language barrier.
He walked over and tried to communicate with Acerola in broken English.
Acerola knew Chen Kai’s English wasn’t great, so she patiently talked with him.
Through their conversation, Chen Kai confirmed that this library was opened by Acerola’s father.
As for the reason Acerola didn’t go to school, Chen Kai sensed that she didn’t want to mention it, so he felt embarrassed to ask further.
Acerola was very happy to chat with someone her age and learned about new things like Mega Evolution and a brand new fossil Pokemon, Dracovish, from Chen Kai, as these were all knowledge not yet recorded in current books.
Gradually, the afterglow of the sunset painted the sky orange.
Just as Chen Kai’s spoken English was rapidly improving, Zhou Zicheng suddenly nudged him with his elbow and whispered, “Look! By the treeline!”
At the edge of the forest outside the library’s back door, in the dim light, a tall figure with three coconut-shaped heads cautiously emerged—it was indeed an ordinary Exeggutor!
Although the light was dim, it could be seen that its size seemed… not as short as they had expected.
However, just as Chen Kai and him were about to chase after it to see the details, the Exeggutor keenly sensed them!
Its three heads suddenly turned towards the library window, and a clear look of panic appeared on its face.
The next second, it turned without hesitation, took long strides with its thick legs, and dashed wildly into the depths of the dense forest!
“Stop!” Chen Kai and Zhou Zicheng simultaneously stood up, pushed open the library’s back door, and chased after it.
The tropical rainforest vegetation of Alola was extremely dense, with intertwined Vines and gnarled roots on the ground, making it difficult for Miraidon to speed through here.
However, the Exeggutor, relying on its height advantage and its Grass-type Pokemon talent, moved through the forest at an extremely fast pace.
Chen Kai and Zhou Zicheng stumbled along, chasing, and the distance was about to widen.
“Rowlet! Stop it! Use Leafage to interfere!” Zhou Zicheng immediately threw out a Poké Ball.
Rowlet quickly ascended into the air and swooped down towards the fleeing Exeggutor, its wings flapping, sharp Leafage shooting towards the Exeggutor like darts!
Just as the Leafage was about to hit the Exeggutor’s back, the middle head of the fleeing Exeggutor suddenly turned back, its eyes glowing blue!
Buzz!
An invisible, powerful Psyshock instantly erupted!
Rowlet was like being heavily struck by an invisible large hand, crying out as it was sent flying through the air, hitting a large tree, and falling unconscious!
“Rowlet!” Zhou Zicheng cried out in distress, recalling Rowlet into its Poké Ball.
“Damn it!” Chen Kai initially thought it was his mother’s Pokemon, so he was somewhat hesitant to act, but now seeing the opponent’s ruthless attack, he no longer held back, “Xiao Mei, Thunderbolt! Aim for its legs!”
A golden flash!
The violent electric current tore through the twilight, accurately shooting towards the Exeggutor’s rear leg joint as it was stepping!
The Exeggutor reacted extremely quickly; sensing the threat, its left head glowed green, and thick Vines instantly wrapped around its head, forming a giant wooden hammer that, with a whistling sound, fiercely smashed into the incoming electric light!
Boom!
The wooden hammer and Thunderbolt collided violently!
Although the wooden hammer was scorched black and shattered by the powerful electric current, it successfully diverted most of the electricity to the ground, with only a small amount of electric arcs reaching the Exeggutor’s body, causing its massive body to suddenly stiffen, stumble, and its speed to slow down significantly.
Xiao Mei and the Exeggutor continued to clash several times like this, and Chen Kai and Zhou Zicheng finally caught up, panting.
Chen Kai sent out Hydrapple and Grovyle, blocking the Exeggutor from front and back!
Then, Chen Kai calmed his breathing and, using the last ray of twilight penetrating the forest, carefully examined the Exeggutor that had made them chase so hard.
Upon seeing it, he was immediately stunned, a look of extreme embarrassment appearing on his face.
This Exeggutor was indeed not an Alolan form; it was an ordinary Grass/Psychic type.
But it wasn’t short at all!
On the contrary, it was much taller than Chen Ma’s Exeggutor, estimated to be at least over 4 meters tall! Moreover, its trunk was slender, its branches and leaves were yellow, and its three heads were now looking down at them with fear and anger.
“Uh…” Chen Kai scratched his head, looking awkwardly at Zhou Zicheng, who also had a bewildered expression, “Um… Zicheng… it seems like… we chased the wrong Exeggutor? This guy… is even taller than mine!”
