“Everyone, the air outside is wonderful today. Let’s take the Pokémon out for some mini-games.”
At two in the afternoon, Old Man Fuji suddenly suggested this to the volunteers.
A few minutes later, the only Pokémon left in the entire house was Charmander.
“Charmander, do you want to play with everyone in the park outside?” Old Man Fuji came up to Charmander.
Charmander glanced at him, then continued to lie down.
As expected, Old Man Fuji sighed, said ‘sorry’ in his heart, and turned to leave.
“Kar~”
As soon as he walked out of the house, he saw Munchlax standing at the doorway, rubbing his fists together.
He looked extremely impatient.
“Don’t rush, don’t rush, I just came out.”
Old Man Fuji felt a headache seeing him like this.
He was really afraid that Munchlax would be too aggressive and beat Charmander to near death.
“Go easy on him later, don’t be too harsh.”
“Kar~”
Munchlax patted his chest.
He looked completely like, ‘You can trust me to handle this.’
Immediately after, he extended his chubby short hand, pointing towards the cafeteria, which had three extra locks because of him.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry. If you handle this well, I’ll definitely give you an extra meal tonight.”
Old Man Fuji was a bit helpless with his attitude of being agreeable when food was involved.
“Kar~”
Receiving a satisfactory reply, Munchlax smiled foolishly.
Fifteen minutes later.
Munchlax finally walked in after getting Old Man Fuji’s permission.
After Old Man Fuji let him in, he quickly walked to his office.
In the office, Jiang Fan and Li Nai were already sitting at Old Man Fuji’s desk, watching the surveillance.
“How’s the situation? Did they start fighting?” Old Man Fuji immediately asked upon entering.
“They started fighting, but Charmander is being unilaterally crushed,” Li Nai said with full sympathy.
She had originally thought they would struggle for a while, but she didn’t expect Munchlax to deliver a Tackle directly while Charmander was still sleeping.
Charmander was dazed and hadn’t figured out what was happening when Munchlax leaped into the air and pressed his nearly two hundred pounds of body weight heavily onto the mere ten-pound Charmander.
After that, Charmander was miserable.
In short, there was no fighting technique at all, just pure disregard for martial ethics.
Old Man Fuji, hearing his granddaughter’s reply, quickly went to the desk.
He saw Charmander wailing miserably under Munchlax’s backside, trying to resist and use the move Ember, but his neck was tightly squeezed by Munchlax’s small, chubby hands, so he couldn’t spit it onto him.
From time to time, he would even get a few slaps.
“This is too tragic.”
Old Man Fuji watched for seven or eight seconds before he couldn’t bear it anymore and turned to stop it.
But Jiang Fan held him back.
“Grandpa Fuji, if you go to stop it now, everything will be for naught,” Jiang Fan said.
Old Man Fuji looked back at Jiang Fan’s serious and shaking head, hesitated for a long time, and finally pulled back his left foot.
He could only watch helplessly as Charmander was sat on the ground by Munchlax and rubbed hard, humiliated.
Ultimately, this one-sided crushing battle lasted for over five minutes.
Until the commotion inside the house was discovered by a passing volunteer.
“Quick, quick, go comfort him.”
After Munchlax was pulled away by the volunteers, Old Man Fuji looked at Charmander, covered in injuries, lying motionless on the ground, receiving treatment with Super Potion from the volunteers, and felt very distressed.
“Now is not the time. I should be on my way to the hospital right now; appearing in front of him immediately would be too fake,” Jiang Fan shook his head.
“You…”
Old Man Fuji’s eyes widened.
Looking at the overly calm Jiang Fan, he didn’t know whether to call him meticulous or cold-hearted.
“Then I’ll go.” Old Man Fuji left the office somewhat angrily.
Soon, Jiang Fan saw Old Man Fuji appear beside Charmander on the monitor.
But no matter how he comforted Charmander, Charmander didn’t pay him any attention.
Finally, he seemed annoyed by the comforting and simply covered his ears.
This left Old Man Fuji quite helpless, and he could only return to the office and stare at Jiang Fan.
Finally, he couldn’t help but speak: “If Charmander can’t overcome his despondency because of this, then Xiao Jiang, you should leave Pokémon House.”
Jiang Fan didn’t reply, only quietly watched the monitor screen.
After sitting for about another half an hour, he finally took action, asking Li Nai to push him in his wheelchair to find Charmander.
Old Man Fuji naturally took over the surveillance.
Not long after, he saw the two of them appear on the screen.
Then Li Nai left, and took the other volunteers with her, leaving only Jiang Fan.
Jiang Fan sat calmly in his wheelchair for nearly a minute, then suddenly spoke:
“I heard Munchlax beat you up.”
His voice caused the Charmander curled up on the ground to stir slightly.
Jiang Fan continued:
“Do you want revenge?”
“I’m just like you, I really want to teach Munchlax a lesson. The doctor said I need to recuperate for a while after this check-up.”
Charmander extended his head from where it was buried in his arms.
He stared at Jiang Fan for a few seconds, then dejectedly buried his head back again.
“What, no confidence in yourself? Do you think you’re useless?”
Charmander stretched out his hands, wanting to cover his ears.
But just as he was about to cover them, Jiang Fan’s next words made his little short hands freeze.
“Believe it or not, you are actually a genius, a super genius among Pokémon, one in ten thousand among Charmander. With just a little effort, you can pin Munchlax to the ground and beat him up.”
Charmander pulled his buried head out again, looking at Jiang Fan in surprise.
“Do you know why I risked my life the other day to protect your food from being snatched by Munchlax?”
Jiang Fan clenched his fist and pounded his chest, speaking passionately.
“It’s because I saw the talent in your bloodline. I don’t think you should be treated like this, and you certainly shouldn’t belittle yourself!”
Charmander didn’t speak, only stared at Jiang Fan.
As if observing whether the person in front of him was talking nonsense.
“I know what you’re thinking: if you were really that amazing, why would you be abandoned, and why would you be bullied by Munchlax?”
“I’ll tell you why. It’s because your talent is truly too powerful. As a young Pokémon, if you don’t have the correct guidance, you’re no different from an ordinary Charmander.”
“But once you have the correct method, you will be vastly different. In the future, very few Pokémon will be able to be your opponent, and victory will be commonplace for you.”
At this point, Jiang Fan noticed Charmander’s eyes flickering.
“Humbly, I happen to have the ability to guide you.”
“If you don’t believe me, come out with me, and I’ll show you.”
Charmander looked at him hesitantly.
Seven or eight seconds later, he stood up from the ground.
Jiang Fan’s mouth curved into a slight smile, and he pushed his wheelchair towards the outside of the house.
Not long after, Li Nai came up behind him.
While pushing his wheelchair, she whispered in his ear:
“Grandpa and I had the same opinion just now. We both think you shouldn’t be at our Pokémon House. Pokémon Hollywood is where you should be. A future Best Actor award will definitely have a place for you.”
“However, aren’t you afraid of being proven wrong by what you just said? What if Charmander finds out you’re lying to him? Then he’ll definitely become even more despondent and lose even more trust in humans.”
Jiang Fan glanced at her.
“No, because I will show you what the power of belief is.”
