Chapter 15: Special venom, a profitable breeder

"Toxins?"

Lin Fan was startled, immediately wiping the smile off his face, a hint of nervousness replacing it.

Weedle also immediately lowered its raised tail, its small face drooping as it looked at the nurse.

"That's right, toxins," the nurse affirmed with a nod, then began to explain.

"Poison-type Pokémon are quite special. If their internal toxins aren't regularly checked, unknown consequences can occur, such as a Garbodor whose arm is blocked by accumulated toxins, or a Muk that develops harmful toxins after eating special garbage. Therefore, for Poison-type Pokémon, we routinely take a small amount of toxins for testing."

"During the process of extracting toxins from Weedle, we discovered that Weedle cannot control its own toxins very well. This is a very dangerous sign. Furthermore, according to the toxin test results, this Weedle's toxins seem to be different from its peers; they are acidic and highly corrosive, which may cause unknown effects on Weedle's body."

With that, the nurse hesitated and glanced at Weedle, adding, "However, this Weedle surprisingly appears healthy, and the special toxins don't seem to have damaged its body. But to be safe, I still recommend you pay close attention to Weedle's toxin situation, and seek medical attention promptly if any problems arise."

Hearing this, Lin Fan breathed a sigh of relief.

So it was this problem? It had already been solved by the Insect Plate, so it wasn't a big deal.

Hmm? No, that's not right.

Lin Fan frowned, noticing a particular sentence from the nurse.

"Weedle cannot control its own toxins very well; this is a very dangerous sign. What does this sentence mean?"

Facing Lin Fan's puzzled gaze, the nurse was instead a little surprised.

"Didn't you notice? Weedle cannot use Poison Sting by releasing energy externally. This is very unusual, because it's not an advanced usage of Poison Sting, but a method that should be mastered the moment Poison Sting is learned."

Huh?!

Lin Fan's eyes widened slightly, looking at the nurse with shock, then at the innocent-faced Weedle beside him.

"Woo~"

Don't look at me, I don't know anything~

Lin Fan covered his face.

No wonder he couldn't find any information online about learning how to externalize Poison Sting's energy; it turns out this isn't a special usage at all!

"Is there any solution?" Lin Fan asked.

"Currently, the main thing is to strengthen Weedle's control over Poison-type energy," the nurse hesitated before giving a conventional answer.

"Alright." Lin Fan nodded, no longer lingering, and left the Pokémon Center with Weedle.

Back home, Lin Fan fiercely grabbed Weedle's body, pulling it as if for revenge.

"So it was your own problem, little guy!"

Weedle drooped its head, looking wronged.

Could it be blamed for this?

Seeing Weedle's appearance, Lin Fan sighed: "Forget it, these are minor issues. Since it's because of your insufficient control over Poison-type energy, then just strengthen your control. From now on, every day during training, you'll add a project to control Poison-type energy, understood?"

"Woo~"

Understood~

Weedle secretly glanced at Lin Fan, and seeing that the latter wasn't truly blaming it, immediately perked up, breaking free from Lin Fan's clutches and running around the room, amusing itself.

Lin Fan shook his head, a trace of thought flashing in his eyes.

"Weedle's toxins are acidic and highly corrosive? Beedrill's prototype should be a hornet; its venom is mainly composed of alkaloids and proteins, not acidic, and it cannot make honey, only collect it. However, bee venom is acidic, and they can also collect and make honey."

"Although Pokémon with imbalanced attributes generally cannot survive, studies show that their mutated attributes can also bring extraordinary effects. Perhaps Weedle's Poison-type abilities can be further explored."

After jotting down his thoughts, Lin Fan yawned, looking at the quiet night sky outside the window. A bright moon hung high, casting down its pure white glow, and he smiled softly.

"Good night."

......

A week later.

Lin Fan grabbed Weedle's tail, looking helplessly at the little guy's bulging belly.

"Only a week has passed, and your appetite has increased so much."

"Woo!"

The little guy protested discontentedly.

The food it ate had served its purpose; its size was almost twice as big as before, and its strength had also improved significantly.

Weedle's current size was almost double that of its kin.

However, such a large size was not without drawbacks. At the very least, Lin Fan could no longer carry it on his shoulder as before, but could only recall it into its Poké Ball, otherwise, Lin Fan's cervical spine would suffer terribly.

"Its strength is almost at the Intermediate level, but there's still no sign of evolution."

Lin Fan pinched Weedle's muscles; they were as full as ever, and would definitely burst with juice if bitten.

Shaking his head, Lin Fan recalled Weedle into its Poké Ball, tidied his clothes, and then left the house.

Yesterday, he had contacted Sun Qi again, and the latter said that he had finished his tasks and welcomed Lin Fan's arrival at any time.

Two hours later, Lin Fan arrived at a suburban area. Looking at the simple but vast house in front of him, he couldn't help but exclaim.

"As expected of a Breeder, even a Junior Breeder is so rich."

As his voice fell, a helpless voice came.

"Alright, stop teasing me. If I were really rich, would I still need to buy a house here? Who said Breeders need a large space to provide living space for Pokémon? Expenses for living quarters are essential."

Following the voice, Sun Qi's figure appeared at the doorway, looking at Lin Fan with a wry smile.

"Sun Ge."

Lin Fan smiled and greeted him. The latter's gaze swept over the Poké Ball at Lin Fan's waist, a hint of nervousness and anticipation flashing in his eyes, but he didn't speak immediately. Instead, he motioned for Lin Fan to enter the house.

Sun Qi spoke as he walked: "The beginning of July is always when there are the most new Trainers, and the demand for energy cubes is also high. I took on a big order and it took a week to complete."

Hearing this, Lin Fan immediately became interested, as his goal was to earn money by making energy cubes.

"Sun Ge, what's your current skill level in making energy cubes?"

Sun Qi smiled: "I'm almost promoted to an Intermediate Breeder. Of course, I can make Junior top-grade energy cubes, and my success rate isn't low. I can make one energy cube in about ten minutes."

Hearing this, Lin Fan silently began to calculate on his fingers.

"The market price of a Junior top-grade energy cube is probably..."

Lin Fan hesitated. The Pokémon store he went to last time was a small one and didn't sell top-grade energy cubes, so he really didn't know their market price.

Fortunately, Sun Qi added from the side: "They're priced at 1000 per cube."

Lin Fan's eyelids twitched, and he continued to calculate silently.

"One cube every ten minutes, even if I work fourteen hours a day, that's about seven days, totaling..."

Lin Fan's eyes froze, and a green glow shot out from them.

"Five hundred eighty-eight thousand?!"
