Chapter 31: The only way to become a primary breeder

Under Machamp's threatening gaze, Lin Fan and Beedrill tremblingly survived another day.

After finishing all the training, Lin Fan returned home, enjoying the evening breeze.

Due to its appearance and size, Beedrill is generally not allowed to roam freely on the streets, so it was forced to return to its Poké Ball.

As soon as they arrived home, Beedrill eagerly rushed out; clearly, the vast world outside the Poké Ball was its favorite place.

"So energetic! Even after a day of training, Pokémon truly are amazing creatures."

Sighing with emotion, Lin Fan had just returned to his bedroom when he saw a large, square package on the floor.

He paused, then seeing that the sender information showed Sun Qi, Lin Fan's face immediately lit up with joy.

He called Beedrill over to carefully cut open the outer packaging, revealing several thick stacks of books inside.

A rough count showed about eight or nine books, with "Breeder's Introductory Handbook" on top.

Clearly, this pile of books was all related to Breeders.

After returning from Water Moon Forest previously, Lin Fan had tried to sell some of his Bug-type Junior excellent energy cubes, but after going around, he sadly found that no one was willing to buy them, the reason being that they didn't accept items of unknown origin.

Sun Qi was right; without a Breeder's identity, energy cubes simply couldn't be sold.

After all, these things are auxiliary resources for Pokémon, literally eaten by them, and if purchased from people of unknown origin, there's a real possibility that unknown substances mixed in could cause abnormal effects on Pokémon.

However, after becoming a Breeder, one will be registered with the Breeder Association, and if an energy cube has a problem, a complaint can be filed with the Breeder Association, which is much safer in comparison.

Therefore, after much deliberation, Lin Fan decided to become a certified Junior Breeder.

Sun Qi naturally strongly supported this and provided free theoretical assistance to Lin Fan, which were the eight or nine books in front of him.

He casually flipped through them; each book was hundreds of pages thick, densely packed with words, which made Lin Fan fall into deep thought, recalling Sun Qi's bright smile that day: "Believe me, becoming a Junior Breeder is a very simple matter; as long as you memorize all the books I've given you, the Junior Breeder assessment will be a piece of cake for you."

"Damn it."

A perfectly enunciated national essence rang out, and Lin Fan sighed to the heavens: "Chinese education, you win!"

Beedrill silently touched Lin Fan's forehead. Hmm, no fever, so he's just acting crazy again.

Lin Fan's act broke in a second, exiting his dramatic state, he glared at Beedrill and placed the books on the floor onto his bookshelf one by one.

According to the regular process, students aspiring to become Breeders should enroll in a university's breeding major, then after countless meaningless filler courses, finally learn all the specialized subjects, then take the Junior Breeder assessment, and successfully fail.

This process usually takes two to three years, but in fact, the actual time needed is not that long.

The books in Lin Fan's hands are the required textbooks for the breeding major; as long as he learns all of them, he can take the Junior Breeder assessment.

According to Sun Qi, half a year is enough to learn these, as he always crammed for final exams, and the cumulative time spent was about half a year.

However, considering that the free time available in university far exceeds that in high school, Lin Fan felt it would still be challenging to learn all of this within half a year.

"This is going to be busy now." Sighing with a headache, Lin Fan lay tiredly on the bed, turning his head to see the several books thicker than his life.

Don't dare to open my eyes, I hope it's my illusion~

......

For the next week, Lin Fan and Beedrill repeated the same special training.

During the day, they learned Focus Energy under Machamp, squeezed in time to study breeding knowledge, and at night, they practiced multitasking at home, striving to no longer be limited to Double Needle and Poison Sting skills.

At the same time, physical fitness training was not neglected; Beedrill was deeply impressed by the scene where Machamp blocked its Double Needle with just its pectoral muscles and vowed to one day train its body to easily pierce through rocks and steel.

Besides strength, Lin Fan focused on training Beedrill's speed every day; the latter got faster day by day, and the day it learned Agility might not be far off.

Inside the martial arts hall, Beedrill closed its eyes in concentration, its body almost still in mid-air, the sound of its wings vibrating behind it much quieter than before, becoming more concealed.

Suddenly, Beedrill opened its eyes, its sharp gaze fixed on a wooden dummy in front of it, its body lunged forward, almost instantly arriving next to the dummy, its right hand's long spear drawing a white streak, bringing with it a piercing sonic wave, and with a "thud," it directly pierced through the wooden dummy.

Whether living or inanimate, everything has its weakest point, and this place is its vital spot.

"Whether living or inanimate, everything has its weakest point, and these places are their vital spots; hitting them can cause damage far exceeding normal attacks."

Su Wu spoke, his gaze approvingly on Beedrill.

In one week, Beedrill's Focus Energy had reached mastery; it could maintain basic calmness through Focus Energy anytime, anywhere.

"Alright, Beedrill has completed its apprenticeship. Go back and pack up; we'll depart for Xiyue City tomorrow. It's time to test your training results."

Apprenticeship completed, huh...?

Hearing Uncle Su say this himself, Lin Fan couldn't help but show a hint of a joyful smile, stroking Beedrill's head, and looking at its proud expression, he uncharacteristically didn't tease it.

Beedrill had truly worked hard this past week.

"See you tomorrow, Uncle Su."

After greeting Su Wu, Lin Fan recalled Beedrill into its Poké Ball, left the martial arts hall, and hurried towards home.

He wondered if the clothes he ordered a few days ago had arrived.

It didn't take long for Lin Fan to return home, and seeing his package in the room, he immediately felt relieved, a smile appearing on his face as he deftly opened the package.

What met his eyes was a complete set of clothes, consisting of four pieces: a red and white short-sleeved jacket, a black short-sleeved shirt, light blue pants, and a red and white hat, paired with Lin Fan's existing red and white athletic shoes.

Red's iconic outfit, ready!

He tried on the size; it fit perfectly. Lin Fan looked at the rather handsome young man in the mirror and smiled softly.

Actually, Giovanni's suit was also very handsome, but he didn't have the money.

"Wearing this to the competition, it would be a bit embarrassing not to win the Champion title," Lin Fan muttered to himself.

Beedrill tilted its head, looking at Lin Fan. Although it didn't know what the Champion title had to do with this outfit, none of that mattered, because it would defeat all opponents.

The Champion, could only be Lin Fan's!
