Chapter 55: Misunderstand?

Beedrill didn't care what the other party was thinking; it touched its Double Needle, making a clanging sound, and let out a hiss towards Ursaring, pointing a hand at the smaller Ariados nearby, indicating for it to deal with that one.

Then, without waiting for Ursaring's reaction, it fiercely rushed towards the large Ariados, launching a frantic assault.

Beedrill is a Pokémon known for its ferocity, not to mention that during its Weedle stage, it was abandoned by its tribe and survived alone in the wild, making it necessary to be extremely fierce to barely survive.

Its usual gentleness was only because it recognized and relied on Lin Fan from the bottom of its heart; its current ferocious appearance was its true nature.

Ursaring stared blankly at the battlefield of Beedrill and Ariados until a soft, timid Growl from Teddiursa behind it finally woke it up, letting out a fierce roar, and rushing towards the small Ariados without hesitation.

It was no match for a two-on-one, but in a one-on-one, it had no fear of Ariados. The original single battlefield instantly split into two, constantly emitting rumbling sounds, shaking down countless leaves.

Lin Fan's gaze focused on Ursaring. This Ursaring was very sturdy in build, and logically speaking, its strength should be extremely high, and even two Ariados might not be its match. However, a shocking scar on its body greatly reduced Ursaring's strength, preventing it from exerting its full power.

"It doesn't look like a wound caused by Ariados..." Lin Fan watched for a moment, shook his head, and didn't pay it much mind, as it was normal for wild Pokémon to have strange scars on their bodies.

He glanced at the battle between Beedrill and Ariados, where the two were fighting fiercely, back and forth, without giving an inch.

Although Beedrill generally had the upper hand, Ariados was no pushover; its instinctive reactions developed from long-term hunting in the wild made it very tricky.

"Beedrill and Ariados are both Bug-type + Poison-type, and their moves resist each other; they can't break through." Lin Fan muttered, seeing the essence of the problem.

This type combination is weak to Fire, Psychic, Flying, and Rock types, and Beedrill happens to be able to learn Flying-type moves like Aerial Ace and Acrobatics.

"Aerial Ace and Acrobatics..." Lin Fan pondered. In fact, compared to Flying-type moves, he wanted Beedrill to learn a Ground-type move more.

Because Bug-type itself does not resist Bug and Poison; it's the Poison-type that resists them, and Poison-type is countered by Ground and Psychic.

The probability of Beedrill learning Psychic-type offensive moves was too small, and Ground-type could counter popular types like Fire, Electric, Steel, and Rock. Therefore, considering everything, a Ground-type move could better help Beedrill expand its attack coverage.

"But can Beedrill learn Ground-type moves?" Lin Fan hesitated, thinking through the Ground-type moves in his mind, finally settling on "Drill Run."

Although it was slightly inferior to the Ground-type signature move Earthquake, it was also an excellent high-power move.

Most importantly... Drill Run is used by rotating the body like a steel drill while hitting the opponent, and it is easy to hit vital points.

It perfectly suited Beedrill!

The only problem was whether Beedrill could perceive and control Ground-type energy. Perhaps he could try it later.

Just as Lin Fan was deep in thought, the battle on the field had already been decided.

Beedrill, which had been suppressing Ariados, finally seized an opportunity, thrusting a Double Needle unceremoniously into the opponent's abdomen. Under the critical hit, the opponent directly lost its ability to fight and was firmly tied to a tree by Beedrill's Silk Thread, swinging back and forth like a swing, occasionally being whipped back and forth by Beedrill as if it were a top.

And Ursaring, without the interference of the large Ariados, successfully dealt with the small Ariados. Its incredibly sharp claws directly made Ariados scream in pain, cowering on the ground, also losing its ability to fight.

"Taking down the large Ariados with about 70% of its strength, if it went all out, it would be enough to handle two Ariados simultaneously. Beedrill has really gotten much stronger."

Lin Fan felt a bit relieved, stroking the head of Beedrill, who had returned to his side, as a sign of encouragement.

Ursaring had retreated to the side of the tree hollow, looking at Lin Fan and Beedrill with some hesitation. After thinking for a moment, it picked up Teddiursa, revealing the tree hollow behind it, and motioned for Lin Fan and Beedrill to come in and sit.

Lin Fan was not polite and walked directly into the tree hollow, instructing Beedrill to drag the two Ariados in as well.

This was a large tree carefully chosen by Ursaring. The trunk was extremely thick, and the tree hollow was also very large, more than enough to accommodate Lin Fan, Beedrill, Ursaring, Teddiursa, and the two Ariados at the same time.

Lin Fan found an empty spot and sat down, staring at the small Ariados with an unfriendly expression, and spoke calmly: "Last time you came to chase me, and this time you came to hunt this Teddiursa. How do you think you should be dealt with?"

Seeing Beedrill, who was rubbing its hands together as if it would stab him to death at any moment, Ariados became anxious, constantly making "hissing" sounds, gesturing with its hands and feet, trying to explain.

"You mean, last time was to snatch my energy cube, and this time was to snatch the berries and honey Ursaring hid?"

Lin Fan listened for a long time and finally understood Ariados's meaning, falling into contemplation.

"...I don't believe a word of it! If I hadn't run fast last time, I would have almost been done for there."

Lin Fan sneered, staring at Ariados with an unfriendly expression.

Although he said that on the surface, he knew in his heart that what the other party said was likely true.

Most Pokémon don't lie. Although Ariados is ferocious, it really has no interest in humans.

And while the Weedle at the time was on their menu, a single Weedle was not worth such a huge fuss for them.

However, even so, Lin Fan did not intend to forgive them.

After all, although the other party wasn't aiming to prey on him and Weedle, they did indeed pose a threat to their lives.

Or rather, Ariados actually didn't mind eliminating them along the way while snatching food; this was their rule of survival.

Lin Fan coldly glanced at the two Ariados and did not pursue them further, because at this moment, Ursaring ran over and handed him a jar of fragrant honey.

"Such familiar honey."

Lin Fan pondered, wasn't this the honey from the Beedrill tribe before?!

He wondered why the Beedrill tribe couldn't make honey but still had so many good things. It turned out they got it from Ursaring.

That's right, the Pokedex recorded that Teddiursa's honey is made from a mixture of fruits and pollen collected by Beedrill. Although it might not have made it, this honey indeed has a close relationship with Teddiursa, Ursaring, and the Beedrill tribe.
