Some creatures, upon hatching from an egg, often have their first meal consist of the broken eggshell around them.
The Pokémon standing in a small nest made of a blanket, gulping down eggshells, was just like that.
This Pokémon had soft, thick fur, walked on all fours, and looked somewhat like Jenny’s standard partner, Growlithe.
However, unlike Growlithe’s black and orange fur, its fur was longer and more vibrant, predominantly red with black stripes.
The biggest difference between this Pokémon and Growlithe was its nearly milky-white tail and milky-white mane that even covered its eyes, as well as the small but very sharp horn on its head.
Unlike the other Pokémon around him, who looked delighted, Luo Mu blinked, and a look of shock instantly appeared on his face.
This was a Growlithe that had recorded activity in the ancient Sinnoh Region, also known as the Hisui Region; it could be said to be the ancestor of modern Growlithe, and this Growlithe (Hisui) should now be extinct.
Logically speaking, this Pokémon should have long been extinct, so how did it appear before Grandma Juzi’s explorer son?
Luo Mu couldn’t figure it out. Was it caused by Dialga’s power? Or was it that in some place he didn’t know, there were still a few Hisui Growlithe and Hisui Arcanine active?
Since he couldn’t figure it out, Luo Mu decided not to think about it. He was very open-minded; Hisui form was Hisui form, it didn't prevent him from raising it.
Luo Mu quickly had Serperior and Dragonite fetch warm water and Moomoo Milk that had been kept warm. When Growlithe finished eating and still felt hungry, he carefully approached.
Growlithe seemed to not have opened its eyes yet, sniffing around on the blanket, seemingly searching for food to fill its stomach.
Luo Mu’s footsteps startled Growlithe, but after its sensitive nose caught Luo Mu’s scent, it quickly calmed down, sitting obediently in place, waiting for Luo Mu to feed it.
Luo Mu only felt that Growlithe like this was just as cute as Dragonite was when it was little. He bent down, picked Growlithe up, and placed it on his lap, taking the towel that Serperior had handed over with a Vine Whip, which had been wrung dry and only had a little moisture and warmth, gently wiping Growlithe’s body.
Originally, his plan was to give the newborn Pokémon, whose body still had some sticky liquid, a bath with warm water, but he hadn’t expected a Fire type + Rock type Growlithe to hatch. Being four times weak to water, it was more suitable for a bath with cleansing sand, like some Ground type Pokémon, rather than a warm water bath.
This was something he hadn't considered.
Because Moltres was here and the towel didn't have too much water, Growlithe's fur, even if slightly long, dried quickly.
Then, Luo Mu took the baby bottle containing warm Moomoo Milk, held Growlithe in his arms, and fed it with practiced and gentle movements.
Dragonite, not far away, looked at the familiar blue baby bottle from its memory, and a drop of clear liquid seeped from the corner of its mouth.
It still remembered the feeling of Luo Mu holding it and feeding it milk when it was little; at that time, it only felt that the warm Moomoo Milk was incredibly delicious.
Now, watching Growlithe enjoy Luo Mu’s meticulous care just like it once did, it was a different feeling altogether.
Perhaps because it had been cooped up in the Pokémon egg for too long, Growlithe chugged two full bottles of Moomoo Milk, only stopping when its little belly was round and full, letting out a milk burp.
Pokémon’s adaptability is far stronger than that of ordinary animals. During the feeding, Luo Mu noticed a pair of eyes hidden beneath Growlithe’s fur, watching him intently and innocently.
A process that would take ordinary animals several days only took Growlithe less than half an hour.
“Woof woof~~”
After eating its fill, Growlithe was clearly much more active. Everything in the outside world was full of attraction for it.
It looked left and right, and quickly noticed the other Pokémon gathered in the room.
Luo Mu originally thought Growlithe would show fear or wariness, but unexpectedly, Growlithe, like someone with social anxiety, moved its still somewhat unsteady limbs and ran to each Pokémon, sniffing their scent one by one with its small black nose.
Eldegoss and the Gossifleur friendly greeted Growlithe, and Growlithe happily responded.
But Luo Mu’s five main Pokémon were a bit stiff; they stayed in place with rigid movements, letting Growlithe sniff them, not daring to make any slight move, as if afraid that their unintentional actions might hurt this little life, Growlithe.
Seeing their doting expressions, Luo Mu only felt that in the future, a little tyrant would probably be born on the farm, one who feared nothing and had a bunch of aunts and uncles backing him up.
Growlithe moved with joyful steps. Its adaptability was simply terrifying; after just sniffing around, it could already walk steadily enough to bounce.
It hopped over to Moltres, who was also stiff and somewhat at a loss, sniffed with its small nose, and Growlithe’s eyes, hidden under its fur, lit up. It barked, “Woof woof!” (Mommy!)
Moltres was startled by this cry, completely disregarding its legendary Pokémon dignity and face, and sat down with a thud, its pupils shaking wildly as if from an Earthquake.
Growlithe didn’t care about Moltres’s reaction. After rubbing its head against Moltres, it turned to look at Luo Mu.
Serperior, who had been somewhat gloating, suddenly had a bad premonition.
“Woof woof!” (Daddy!)
Bang—!
With a loud bang, Serperior’s tail tip, which had been joyfully swaying, lost control of its strength for a moment, directly poking a large hole in the wooden floor.
Serperior was trembling with anger at this moment; the entire Pokémon entered a state of furious rage.
It had never expected that despite all its precautions, an anomaly would appear in its home!
This Moltres had fallen from the sky less than half a month ago, and it already had such cunning!
Considering that little Growlithe surely understood nothing, and that Moltres must have been meddling, Serperior glared with angry eyes at Moltres, who was stunned in place by Growlithe’s single word.
Luo Mu didn't understand what Growlithe meant, only thinking it was using Charm. Under the strange gazes of the other Pokémon, he smiled and squatted down, skillfully rubbing its fluffy head.
Serperior—sunk!
That night, no matter how lively Growlithe’s hatching had been, once it was tired of playing and showed clear signs of sleepiness, Luo Mu arranged for the other Pokémon to return to their own nests to rest. If they didn't sleep, it would be past midnight.
According to his observations, Growlithe seemed particularly close to Moltres, besides himself. Was it the influence from those few days during hatching?
Luo Mu didn't hesitate much and temporarily moved Moltres's living space into the house. Considering that Growlithe had just been born, he also temporarily slept in the living room.
That night, Serperior, lying in its empty bed, gnashed its teeth in anger.
