Chapter 42: What is Nemo's starting Pokémon?

Mu Fei’s speech lasted about seven or eight minutes, filled with practical information and no unnecessary repetition.

In particular, his phrase, “Let’s all happily enjoy campus life together!” sparked an enthusiastic response from the students on the playground, and applause thundered for a while.

After the lively atmosphere had slightly subsided, Mu Fei, as the focus of many gazes, slowly turned his head to look at Luo Mu on the very edge, a smile appearing on his face as he spread his hands and said, “Next, I’d like to introduce a new teacher who has joined our Orange Academy, everyone, please give him a warm welcome!”

Clap, clap, clap, clap!

“It’s a new teacher!”

“He looks so young, not much older than us, right?”

“I’m already over fifty, but I have to welcome a new teacher who could be my grandson.”

“I’ve never seen the Pokemon accompanying him!”

At the reminder of the teacher beside him, Luo Mu calmly stepped onto the high platform.

Standing beside Mu Fei on the high platform, Luo Mu’s gaze swept over the crowd below, clearly seeing the facial expressions of all the students: doubt, indifference, and distrust, but mostly curiosity.

He could also see Nemo excitedly jumping up and waving at him, and Pai Pa, who dared not meet his gaze, seemingly still feeling guilty about what had happened before.

With a thousand faces and a thousand emotions, the students’ discussions and varied emotions below the stage did not put any pressure on Luo Mu. Taking the microphone from Mu Fei, Luo Mu found that the noise below not only showed no sign of dying down but intensified instead.

Perhaps some newly appointed rookie teachers might panic in this situation, but as someone who frequently Surfs the internet, Luo Mu had seen countless ways to handle such situations.

After a moment of thought, Luo Mu looked at Mu Fei, and after receiving a “do as you please” gesture from him, Luo Mu bent down and held Growlithe in his arms, bringing the microphone close to its mouth. He gently said to Growlithe, who was wagging its tail vigorously, “Bark a few times.”

“Woof woof woof ooh~~~”

Growlithe was not Astonished by the crowd at all; instead, it was very excited. Its prolonged bark, transmitted through the microphone to the loudspeakers, immediately suppressed the noisy sounds with its extremely high decibels.

Luo Mu put Growlithe down, patted its head in praise, cleared his throat slightly, and then picked up the microphone, saying loudly, “As the principal said, from today onwards, both I and everyone here are part of Orange Academy.”

“First, let me introduce myself. My name is Luo Mu. You can call me Teacher or Teacher Luo Mu. The course I will be teaching is Battle Studies. Students interested in Pokemon battles are welcome to sign up for my course.”

“Normally, I am a very easy-going person, so everyone can rest assured.”

Luo Mu believed that his usual temperament was more about being lazy and laid-back. However, since he had accepted this job from Ye Ci, he should treat it seriously during the teaching period.

In the first half, Luo Mu’s self-introduction was perfectly normal, even unremarkable. However, in the latter half, it took a sharp turn.

Luo Mu’s gentle smile vanished, his expression became serious, and an intimidating aura spread from him, causing a small portion of the students who met his gaze to guiltily look away: “Conversely, if anyone dares to cause trouble in my class, or if I discover any instances of bullying other students, no matter what your family background is, you can try to see if it works on me.”

When Luo Mu finished speaking, the playground became completely silent.

Mu Fei’s smile widened, and he led the applause.

However, this time the applause was sparse; the students were clearly intimidated by Luo Mu’s aura and had not yet recovered.

“Heh heh heh, young people truly have spirit.” Mu Fei’s hands continued to clap as he thought to himself, “Perhaps I can mention it to the old master when I go back, suggesting that Young Master Ao Er Di Jia choose this teacher’s course. I believe the young master will definitely grow from it.”

De Shu’s face was calm, clapping intermittently, but a turbulent wave surged in his heart.

Is it a coincidence… or intentional?

How did Luo Mu, this new teacher at the school, know about, and even specifically mention, bullying matters!?

After the opening ceremony, most of the Orange Academy students returned to their dorms to rest, or were scattered in small groups around the campus.

Luo Mu, accompanied by Growlithe, who was particularly excited after having been in the spotlight, slowly walked towards the library. Before going home, he planned to borrow some professional books related to planting and breeding.

Just then, Nemo, out of breath from running quickly, blocked his path and shouted, “Brother… Teacher Luo Mu!”

Luo Mu stopped, first seeing Nemo, then the light brown head not far away, and smiled, “Isn’t this Nemo? Long time no see.”

“Long time no see!” Nemo clenched her fists, her face showing excitement, and with starry eyes, she said, “I can’t believe you’ve become a teacher at the school!”

“Your speech just now was really cool!”

Nemo felt that today might be her lucky day. After a moment of thought, she took out a Poké Ball and presented it to Luo Mu as if offering a treasure: “Teacher, look, I’ve also gotten my own first partner!”

“Oh~ Can you tell me what Pokemon it is?”

Luo Mu became interested. He had always been curious about who Nemo’s initial Pokemon was, as she was said to have never used her full strength in the game.

“Of course!”

Nemo nodded excitedly, wanting to throw the Poké Ball coolly, but her movements were too crooked, causing the Poké Ball to fall to the ground midway.

But this did not prevent the Pokemon inside the Poké Ball from appearing.

Amidst a flash of red light, a small, entirely orange electric mouse appeared in Luo Mu and Growlithe’s line of sight.

Luo Mu raised an eyebrow slightly, surprised, and said, “It’s Pawmi?”

Speaking of which, the figures of these electric mice with different appearances can be seen in almost every generation.

After leaving the Poké Ball, Pawmi did not move around randomly. Instead, it first picked up the Poké Ball with its small hands and handed it to Nemo, then quickly climbed onto Nemo’s shoulder, appearing to have a very good relationship.

It was also at this moment that Nemo suddenly revealed her purpose for stopping Luo Mu, completely disregarding the gazes of those around her. She bent down and bowed, shouting, “Please have a Pokemon battle with me and Pawmi, Teacher!”

Luo Mu was not too surprised. After seeing Nemo’s attire, which was different from when he first met her, he had already anticipated that the future “Senior Nemo” had appeared.

Therefore, Luo Mu, not at all surprised, smiled and said, “Of course, but we still need a referee.”

“Referee?”

Nemo was a bit troubled; no one she was familiar with was around right now.

Luo Mu patted her shoulder and shouted to someone not far away, “Pai Pa! How long are you going to hide?”

A note on the setting: Pai Pa and Nemo in this book are both ten years old, almost eleven, while in the original work, their fully developed selves are, in my personal estimation, around 14 or 15 years old. The establishment of Team Star was a year and a half ago, which means that bullying within Orange Academy has now reached its final stage.

Regarding the academy storyline later on, other teachers will not be detailed too much. As the plot progresses, there will be a smooth transition to a new teacher and principal taking office. I believe everyone also prefers familiar characters, right?
