The outcome of the match caused the Trainers who had gathered to watch, due to Du Juan's identity, to exclaim in surprise.
“No way, using a Nosepass, this guy actually managed to beat Miss Du Juan!”
“Could it be that he’s even better at raising Nosepass than Miss Du Juan?”
Another Trainer, who had challenged Du Juan seven times and lost all seven, quickly retorted:
“This is just an unremarkable Nosepass among Miss Du Juan’s many Nosepass. If Miss Du Juan sends out her strongest Probopass, she could easily defeat him!”
This statement displeased the argumentative fellow next to them.
“If this Nosepass isn’t Miss Du Juan’s most powerful Pokémon, who said this male Trainer’s Nosepass is his most powerful Pokémon?”
“A loss is a loss; there’s no need for so many excuses.”
“You!”
The ‘Seven-Time Loser’ from before glared angrily at the argumentative Trainer and took out his Poké Ball.
The argumentative Trainer snorted disdainfully:
“What? Want to have a match with me?”
“Let’s fight! Who’s afraid of whom!”
They found an empty space and began their battle.
Kebi nodded in satisfaction. Although he had subtly used Psychic powers to guide Nosepass to unleash its potential, Nosepass itself had also actively mobilized the power within its body.
That’s how they achieved victory in the battle.
Kebi’s Nosepass’s final Flash Cannon, in terms of speed, power, and accuracy, clearly exceeded Du Juan’s expectations.
But she still smiled as she recalled Nosepass and stepped forward to shake Kebi’s hand.
“Your command is excellent; you perfectly brought out Nosepass’s power.”
Kebi held Du Juan’s small hand and humbly replied:
“Miss Du Juan, you flatter me. I merely used a trick to stimulate Nosepass’s potential; more importantly, Nosepass itself was very hardworking.”
Du Juan saw more and more Trainers gathering around, and she pointed to the coffee shop next door.
“Let’s go talk over there. I have many questions about Nosepass that I’d like to ask you.”
Dr. Suo Lan Si raised an eyebrow, signaling Kebi to work hard and not miss this good opportunity.
He leaned close to Kebi and whispered:
“I can go buy the materials myself. You should seize this opportunity. Miss Du Juan is a famous beauty in Rustboro City.”
“You told me to pursue Miss Joy, but you should also pay attention to your own lifelong matters. You two are quite suitable in age, too.”
Kebi rolled his eyes at him and turned Dr. Suo Lan Si in a different direction.
“You go order the materials from the Devon Corporation yourself. I do indeed have some rock-type Pokémon training questions that I’d like to ask Miss Du Juan.”
Dr. Suo Lan Si gave him an “I understand” look, made a cheering gesture, and then headed to the Devon Corporation.
Kebi indeed had training questions he needed to ask Du Juan.
Tyranitar, Nosepass, Diancie, Lunatone—he truly had four rock-type Pokémon in his possession.
Dr. Shanli also said he would become a Grass-type Elite, but Kebi felt that his chances of becoming a rock-type Elite were quite high.
Diancie and Tyranitar would both become his main Pokémon.
A few days ago, Kebi bought many supplements for Tyranitar and started devilish training with Tyranitar on Mt. Chimney, but Kebi found that the training effect was not very good.
His understanding of the rock-type was insufficient, and the training he arranged couldn't trigger Tyranitar’s deepest rock-type power.
Since he met Du Juan, an expert, today, he naturally had to ask for some guidance.
Upon arriving at the coffee shop, Kebi took a sip of cappuccino and immediately posed his question.
Du Juan frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and then said:
“Tyranitar is rare in the Hoenn region. Although I wanted to train one, I never got the chance, so I turned to raising Aron from the Hoenn region instead.”
“Aron and Larvitar actually have a strong comparative relationship. I believe that the training of Tyranitar and Aggron should have some similarities.”
“Of course, I’m just explaining from my perspective and with my insights. If it’s incorrect, I hope you don’t mind.”
Then, Du Juan explained her experience in raising Aggron for five minutes straight.
Kebi nodded repeatedly, even developing the idea of raising an Aron.
Du Juan explained in detail how to feed rock-type Pokémon, how to polish their bodies after feeding to remove impurities, and how to compress their bodies using high temperature and high pressure to increase the strength of their Rock body.
“I feel like you’re a bit too impatient, Kebi. Raising Pokémon is a long process. You shouldn’t be so eager to find ways to accelerate their growth just because their progress slows down temporarily.”
As a young Gym Leader, many of Du Juan’s main Pokémon are only around lv70 60. She actually feels, like Kebi, that her strength is insufficient to serve as a Gym Leader.
Insufficient to protect Rustboro City.
“My senior comforted me by saying that only when a Trainer calms their mind can their Pokémon grow fastest and most robustly.”
Kebi looked at Du Juan curiously, “With such profound words, your senior must be a formidable Trainer, right?”
Du Juan nodded, “That’s right. My senior and I both love Rock, and we often compete for fossils. He is the current Elite Four Champion of the Hoenn League, Steven!”
“My serving as the Kanaz Gym Leader is inseparable from my senior’s recommendation.”
Kebi asked somewhat excitedly: “I wonder if I’ll have a chance to meet Mr. Steven?”
Du Juan shook her head, “Who knows where my senior is digging for Rocks now? If you challenge the Hoenn League and want to replace him as the Hoenn Champion, I think he would definitely be willing to meet you at the first opportunity.”
“It’s not a one or two-day thing that he’s wanted to get rid of the Champion position.”
After discussing Tyranitar, Kebi took out Diancie’s information for Du Juan to see.
“Diancie is a Rock and Fairy-type Pokémon, active in the distant Kalos region. I was very fortunate to catch her, so I especially don’t want to hinder Diancie’s growth.”
“So I specifically ask you, an expert, if there are any problems with my training plan?”
Du Juan nodded after reading it, “At least the development of the rock-type aspect is very professional, but I don’t understand the Fairy-type, although I’ve heard of this type.”
“But there aren’t many Fairy-type Pokémon in the Hoenn region, and even if there are, because the Fairy energy here isn’t active, the Pokémon’s Fairy-type isn’t obvious.”
This is actually a regional difference.
For example, Togepi is a Normal-type in hemispheres where Fairy energy is not active, but a Fairy-type in hemispheres where Fairy energy is active.
Kebi also nodded.
“That’s true. I’ve found that Diancie’s Fairy-type isn’t very obvious. I can only train her Fairy power through the Fairy-type moves she knows.”
The last page of the document was Kebi's full-body drawing of Diancie.
Du Juan’s eyes immediately lit up, “Can I see Diancie?”
Kebi readily agreed and released Diancie inside the coffee shop.
Diancie surveyed her surroundings and asked excitedly: “Kebi, is this the coffee shop you told me about? Can I taste what coffee tastes like?”
Kebi also ordered a cappuccino for Diancie.
“Of course.”
Diancie held the coffee cup, observing the bustling street through the glass. Everything here was so new to her.
“Another cup.”
Kebi affectionately stroked her head.
“Okay.”
With the Clear Body Ability, there's no need to worry about too much water intake affecting Diancie's diamond body.
It can even be considered training the Clear Body Ability by expelling impurities.
Du Juan observed Diancie carefully, making Diancie a little self-conscious.
“Kebi, developing the Clear Body Ability might have a significant impact on Diancie’s growth.”
Kebi suddenly realized. Clear Body was indeed very important; how could he have overlooked this point?
