Chapter 4: leave

A month's time, neither too long nor too short.

One person, two Pokémon, and one cocoon spent every day searching for new Pokémon, constantly exploring, then training, and, of course, eating grilled fish daily.

However, even the most delicious food can become tiresome…

The three of them looked at the grilled fish in front of them, feeling unable to eat, only the cocoon still sticking out an eagle head, eating there, and then sleeping after finishing.

"I'm tired of eating this… How about you?"

"Gengar…"

"Banette…"

"I can't take it anymore, I've been eating grilled fish for a month, if I keep eating it, I'll turn into a fish myself."

"Gengar?"

"Then tell me, besides fish, what else can we eat?"

"Banette?"

"You still want to eat other Pokémon? Can we even beat them?"

"Gengar…"

"Banette…"

"Then isn't that it? We're surviving here, it's good enough if the three of us don't get eaten by others!"

Gui Ling didn't know why, but after spending a long time together, he seemed to understand Gengar and Banette's words.

Moreover, the personalities of the three of them were truly similar; sometimes they were passionate, sometimes they were crazy, sometimes they were disheartened, sometimes they were speechless, and most importantly, the three of them were almost perfectly synchronized.

And as the saying goes, three brothers, one heart: one asks the questions, one comes up with ideas, and one follows.

This saying was perfectly embodied by these three guys.

Generally speaking, Gengar was the one who asked questions, Gui Ling was the one who came up with ideas, and Banette was the one who followed.

What?

You're asking about the cocoon?

Oh, the "Gold Medal Sleeper."

(Yveltal: "I have early morning classes!")

"Let's go back to the city, seriously, I can't live like this anymore…"

(Nods)

(After a while, he finally reacted and nodded.)

"Alright then, let's go back."

But Gui Ling then thought of a very serious problem: he had no money.

"What should we do if we don't have money?"

"Gengar!"

"Me? That's a terrible idea… sell a kidney? How about I sell you instead?"

"Gengar!"

After deciding everything, the three of them set off from the center of the river, slowly walking towards the outside of the forest.

Along the way, they drove away a few Dark-type Pokémon, and the three of them didn't suffer much damage, as they had been training for a month, and their cooperation was very tacit.

Gengar secretly ambushed, Banette used Will-O-Wisp to ignite Gui Ling's tang katana, then attacked from a distance herself, with Gui Ling leading the charge.

After walking halfway, Banette suddenly stopped the two of them, then pointed to a nearby bush.

"What's wrong, Banette?"

"Banette!"

After Gui Ling pushed aside the bush, he discovered that behind it was a huge cave.

"It's hidden so well? I didn't notice it on the way here before."

"Banette!"

"Let's be careful, such a large cave must have very powerful Dark-type Pokémon, should we just leave?"

"Banette!"

"No way? What if there's a big guy inside? We…"

Before Gui Ling could finish his sentence, he noticed a pair of purple eyes staring at him from the cave entrance, and Gui Ling quickly drew his tang katana, preparing for battle.

"Come out! Banette, use Will-O-Wisp!"

Banette released a Will-O-Wisp towards the cave, and as the cave exploded violently, a small shadow flew out and fell in front of Gui Ling.

"Is this a bat? But it's not a Golbat, is it?"

"Gengar!"

"Is this a Noibat? Isn't it Flying and Dragon-type?"

"Banette!"

"Should we catch it?"

Urged by the two Pokémon, Gui Ling threw his last Poké Ball, and after a flash of red light, the Poké Ball quieted down.

"I've been looking for so long, I wanted to find a stronger one, but catching this one should be fine too."

However, what Gui Ling didn't know was that a normal Noibat is purple and white, while his was black and purple, a Shinny Noibat.

But with all this trouble, what would have originally been a one-day journey, Gui Ling spent most of his time recovering Noibat's stamina.

Although Noibat was very dissatisfied with Gui Ling's actions, seeing Gengar and Banette on both sides, the dissatisfaction in its heart was swallowed down.

Along the way, Gui Ling wondered how he should make money; the only thing he was good at was forging katanas, but it seemed not many people used katanas in this world…

"Damn it, then what else can I do?"

Boxing matches?

"Is there such a thing in this world? It's all Pokémon tournaments… Hmm? Pokémon?"

Gui Ling looked at the three Pokémon beside him.

"That's right, I haven't registered yet, so what's the point of fighting?"

They had no time to travel, so they directly set up a bonfire in the jungle; the trees here were unusually dry, and Gui Ling picked up the blade of his tang katana and a flint, striking them together, and soon a fire was lit.

"Haha, finally no more of this annoying fish, but it seems we don't have anything to eat either…"

"Noibat…"

"Gengar…"

"Banette…"

Gui Ling summoned the large cocoon and stroked it, saying.

"I'm sorry, everyone has nothing to eat today."

Yveltal, inside the cocoon, merely opened one eye, then closed it again.

He didn't care about this; he hadn't eaten anything when he slept before.

However, after the bonfire had been burning for a while, there was movement from the surrounding trees.

Gui Ling vigilantly looked towards the sound, and found a strange tree with eyes staring intently at him.

"Is this a Trevenant? But I don't have any Poké Balls left, it wouldn't try to bother me, would it?"

The Trevenant just stared at the situation here and didn't move, but being stared at like that, Gui Ling was naturally uncomfortable.

After extinguishing the bonfire, he leaned against a small hill nearby, which also prevented sneak attacks from behind.

He then spent the night like that; Gui Ling knew he couldn't make too much noise, otherwise it would only lead to worse situations.

Just past midnight, around three or four in the morning, the Trevenant finally couldn't hold back and directly used Wood Hammer to smash towards Gui Ling.

Gui Ling had been feigning sleep for a long time, and it finally took the bait; he suddenly opened his eyes and immediately flashed to the side.

Then he grabbed his tang katana and slashed towards the Trevenant, while Gengar and Banette, hiding in the dark, also used Shadow Sneak and Will-O-Wisp, and the three of them jointly repelled the Trevenant.

Just as the Trevenant roared unwillingly, Noibat flew up and used Supersonic to interfere with the Trevenant, then Banette delivered a finishing blow with Will-O-Wisp, completely ending this Trevenant.

"My heavens… can I even continue traveling in this mental state?"

Gui Ling felt like he hadn't had many good things happen since coming to this world, and just as he wrapped his tang katana in white cloth again, he was suddenly attracted by something dazzling.

"What is that?"

Gui Ling leaned closer and saw that they were two glass beads, one purple and one white.

"Were these hammered out by that Trevenant's Wood Hammer? Gengar, Shadow Sneak."

Gengar gathered a small Shadow Sneak and sent it over; after Gui Ling used his tang katana to peel away the gravel, the two glass beads revealed their true appearance.

"Holy moly! Alright, I'm really not sleepy now!"

Gui Ling happily took the two beads; it was truly finding something without searching, and getting it effortlessly.

Now the money problem was also solved, and Gui Ling was immediately filled with vigor, running towards the outskirts of the forest.

"Mega Key Stone and ite! I'll keep the Key Stone myself, and if this ite isn't needed by Gengar or them, I'll sell it!"
