Chapter 13: Past events with Chichi

Seeing that everyone succeeded on their first challenge, Wang Xiang shamelessly declared, "This result doesn't count."

"Wang Xiang, can't you have some shame?" Deng Fei complained.

"Exactly," Chichi echoed. "It's not easy for new people to come to our show. If you're like this, who would dare to come on our show in the future?"

"We didn't cheat. The results are real and verifiable."

The crowd began to grumble.

Chichi glanced at Mu Li, who hadn't spoken, and whispered in his ear, "Lend me Jigglypuff for a moment."

While Jigglypuff looked bewildered, Chichi picked it up and placed it in front of Wang Xiang. "Wang Xiang, say what you just said to Jigglypuff again."

Jigglypuff blinked its adorable big eyes, looking at Wang Xiang curiously.

One second, Wang Xiang was melted by Jigglypuff's cuteness; the next, he remembered the 500-meter ice-covered track, and his face instantly turned pale.

"Alright, alright, I'll let you guys win this time. Everyone, let's pack up and go eat." I, Wang Xiang, have the hardest mouth.

At this point, the first segment of the show was finally recorded.

Chichi immediately went to Mu Li and asked, "How do you feel, A Li? Are you adapting to this kind of recording?"

"I feel pretty good." It was Mu Li's first time recording a variety show. Although he was still quite unfamiliar with the recording process, he was adapting to the "Wu Ha" rhythm.

"That's good. I'll take you to formally meet them." Chichi directly pulled Mu Li to the other members.

"You know all these people, right?" Chichi asked.

Mu Li nodded. "I've always watched "Wu Ha," so I know them all."

"You even know me?" Gao Hanyu was a little surprised.

Mu Li paused. "Uh, can I not know you?"

This remark made Chichi burst out laughing. "That's right, you don't have to know him. He's from your Paozi Ge's studio, so don't be polite with him."

"In this episode, your Paozi Ge and Diamond can't participate because they made mistakes, and they probably won't be able to participate in future recordings either." Chichi briefly explained the situation.

"This is Mu Li, my little brother. In the future, when you meet, help him out if you can; it'll be good for you." Chichi also vaguely introduced Mu Li. "This can also be considered his debut."

As the elder brother, Fan Yizhi had a close relationship with Chichi and naturally supported him. "Follow Big Brother from now on, and I'll take you to enjoy good food and drinks."

Looking at it this way, Fan Yizhi truly had the demeanor of an elder brother.

"Absolutely, Big Brother!" Mu Li replied with a smile.

"But A Li, what field are you planning to enter for your debut?" Deng Fei asked.

"I'm planning to be a singer. I graduated from the Yangcheng Conservatory of Music," Mu Li introduced.

"Oh, please. Yangcheng Conservatory of Music, Broadcasting and Hosting Department." Chichi immediately exposed him. "What's your situation, don't I know?"

Mu Li's mouth twitched. "Chichi Ge, don't expose me when life is already hard."

After a brief introduction, everyone gradually shifted the topic to today's recording.

"A Li, your appearance today simply blinded me!" Gao Hanyu exaggerated. "That Togekiss was too cool! How did you find it?"

Mu Li felt a bit embarrassed as he replied, "Him? I don't remember which of my Pokémon picked him up. Back then, he was still a Togepi, very small."

"You're really lucky," Gao Hanyu said, a little enviously.

Chichi grumbled in annoyance, "Don't listen to his nonsense, Hanyu. I'm telling you, you'd better believe less of what this guy says, especially about Pokémon, otherwise, you'll be spitting blood later."

Gao Hanyu paused. "Chichi Ge, what do you mean?"

"Just thinking about it makes my blood pressure rise," Chichi said, gritting his teeth as he looked at Mu Li.

Mu Li also felt a bit awkward. "Chichi Ge, why do you still remember that?"

"That was a million, okay? How could I not remember?" Chichi got angrier the more he thought about it.

This immediately piqued the curiosity of Deng Fei and the others.

"Quick, tell us what happened." Deng Fei directly elbowed Chichi.

Chichi gave Mu Li a look, asking if he could tell.

Mu Li directly said, "Actually, it's nothing much. At that time, Chichi Ge was having a match with someone, and he couldn't stand it, so he borrowed a Pokémon from me."

"A match? What kind of match?" Deng Fei asked curiously. Thinking of Chichi mentioning a million, Deng Fei's expression immediately turned a bit ugly. "Chichi, you didn't go participate in one of those gambling matches, did you?"

"Hey, what gambling match?" Chichi said irritably. "You still don't know me? I'm a miser, how could I bear to spend money on that kind of thing?"

"Then what exactly happened?" Deng Fei was a little confused.

Chichi pouted and explained in detail, "Didn't I participate in a Pokémon-related game recording before? I ended up meeting a professional player."

"That professional player was very arrogant, looking down on us celebrity players. In the show, he kept making sarcastic remarks and targeting us. Mimi and Ziqi were also participating at the time, and Ziqi was actually made to cry by him."

"I couldn't stand it, so I said a few words, and then we directly got into a shouting match."

"What's even funnier is that guy directly challenged us to a game. I was so angry that I immediately called a bunch of top professional players to crush their team."

Ziqi and Mimi had good relationships with everyone, so upon hearing this, everyone immediately felt indignant for the two of them.

"Which professional player? So arrogant?" Deng Fei's face turned cold. Don't let his usual cheerful demeanor fool you; once it involved his friends, he wouldn't be vague.

"Don't worry about it. The lesson has already been given; there's no need to make it too ugly," Chichi explained.

"Then what happened next?" Fan Yizhi pressed.

At the mention of this, Chichi gritted his teeth in frustration. "Later, that guy wasn't convinced and insisted on having a Pokémon battle with me. I impulsively agreed, and as you know, my Blastoise is considered my strongest combat power, at most at the level of a Superior Trainer."

PS: Pokémon Trainer levels from low to high are: Junior, Intermediate, Advanced, Superior Level, Gym Level, Heavenly King Level, and Champion Level.

"I heard from others that his Pokémon was at least Superior Level. To save face, I could only borrow a Pokémon from someone else."

"But at the time, I didn't know who to borrow from. Although I knew some Gym Level and Heavenly King Level Pokémon Trainers through some shows, their Pokémon were all used for battles, so I didn't dare to borrow them casually."

At this point, Deng Fei couldn't help but say, "You should have come to me then! My Electivire is at least Superior Level."

Chichi couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Oh, please. Don't I know your Electivire? It only reached Superior Level because it eats well. Its actual combat ability is pretty much the same as my Blastoise, okay?"

Deng Fei didn't refute, as the truth was indeed as Chichi said. In fact, it wasn't just Deng Fei; everyone else present, except for Mu Li, was like this. Their Pokémon were more like companions, rarely having opportunities for battle.

Fan Yizhi slapped Deng Fei's arm. "Don't interrupt."

Then he winked at Chichi. "You continue."

"Later, after thinking it over and over, I thought of Mu Li. I told him to lend me a Pokémon to battle someone, and he agreed without a second thought. He sent it over that very day."

"At that time, we were still recording the show. I had just received the Poké Ball and hadn't even had a chance to look at it when that guy started making sarcastic remarks about us again. I couldn't hold back and directly challenged him to a battle."

"But when the battle started, I realized that his Pokémon was a Superior Level Scizor, almost breaking through to Gym Level, and it was very well-trained. My heart sank immediately, thinking, 'I'm screwed, I'm going to lose face.'"

"However, I thought that even if I had to lose, I should lose honorably, so I directly summoned the Pokémon Mu Li sent me."

"Do you know what Pokémon he sent me?" Chichi suddenly built suspense.

Fan Yizhi immediately gave him a slap, and Chichi honestly continued, "This kid sent me a Salamence. A Salamence! That's a pseudo-legendary Pokémon! When that thing appeared, let alone the opponent's Scizor, even I almost peed my pants."

"I was also foolish then. Seeing such a rare pseudo-legendary Pokémon, I didn't care about anything else; I just wanted to try commanding it. So I had Salamence use the Dragon-type signature move, Draco Meteor."

"As a result, with that one move, the opponent's Scizor was so scared it retreated directly into its Poké Ball, and that Pokémon battle arena was directly flattened by Draco Meteor."

"To compensate the battle arena, I paid 1 million in repair fees."

Seeing Chichi's aggrieved expression, everyone laughed unkindly, with Deng Fei laughing the loudest.

"Chichi, you're a legend," Deng Fei said, laughing so hard he almost couldn't breathe.

Gao Hanyu also asked with a smile, "A Li, what were you thinking at the time? Why did you lend Chichi Ge such a powerful Pokémon?"

Mu Li also couldn't help but smile. "You can't blame me for that. Chichi Ge told me at the time that he was going to battle a powerful opponent and needed to borrow a powerful Pokémon from me. At the time, I thought, a powerful opponent, then how could it not be Gym Level or even Heavenly King Level?"

"I was even curious then how Chichi Ge had offended such a powerful player and was thinking of helping him mediate."

"But he only asked me to borrow a Pokémon and didn't say anything else, so I thought I couldn't let Chichi Ge lose face, and I lent him a stronger Pokémon."

"I just didn't expect the opponent to only be Superior Level..."

When Mu Li said this, everyone didn't know what to say.

Chichi's mouth twitched. "Only Superior Level..."

Gao Hanyu: "Only Superior Level..."

Deng Fei: "Only Superior Level..."

...

"A Li, were you a Trainer before?" Deng Fei asked.

"Yes, I was a Trainer in high school, but then I stopped being a Trainer. In college, I majored in broadcasting and hosting," Mu Li explained.

"As expected." Deng Fei showed a look of sudden realization. "I was wondering how you had so many powerful Pokémon."

Chichi, standing by, twitched his mouth. "Big Brother, do you have some misunderstanding about Trainers? A pseudo-legendary Pokémon, do you even understand the value of a pseudo-legendary?"

However, Chichi also breathed a sigh of relief. Deng Fei and the others weren't too familiar with Pokémon battles, so they didn't think much of it. If anyone who understood Pokémon battles had been there, Mu Li's identity would have been very difficult to conceal.

Chichi didn't let the topic continue and directly changed the subject. "By the way, A Li, you said you want to become a singer. Do you have any works yet?"

"I have one." Mu Li's eyes lit up.

Finally, they got to the main topic.
