Chapter 54: Ordinary People's Pokémon

After Mu Li left the room, a red light flashed, and Tapu Fini immediately appeared beside him, looking warily at the sea: “He’s here.”

At the same time, the entire seaside seemed to be shrouded in a faint mist. If there were still staff observing the cameras at this moment, they would find that Mu Li walked towards the restroom after leaving the house. However, in reality, Mu Li and Tapu Fini directly flew into the air and headed towards the sea.

Peng Xiaochang happened to see the moment Tapu Fini appeared. The next moment, the surrounding space seemed to twist. Mu Li, as if he hadn't seen anything, continued walking out the door.

Peng Xiaochang wanted to call out to Mu Li, but he couldn't make a sound and had no strength in his body. He could only watch helplessly as Mu Li walked further and further away.

Tapu Fini, who was flying towards the sea with Mu Li, suddenly turned around and said, “Your friend is awake.”

Mu Li shrugged, helplessly saying, “Let him sleep.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Peng Xiaochang, who had originally wanted to get up and check the situation, felt a wave of sleepiness come over him. The next second, he lay down and fell asleep.

Mu Li and Tapu Fini also quickly flew into the deep sea.

“Come out,” Mu Li suddenly shouted.

A pair of scarlet, giant eyes suddenly appeared beneath the sea. Those eyes were like the endless abyss of the ocean floor, threatening to swallow everything in the world.

The originally clear night sky had, at some unknown point, been covered by dark clouds, obscuring the moon and making the sea appear even darker.

The wind gradually picked up, and rain followed, both intensifying and intertwining. The once calm sea began to churn with waves, which gathered to form towering swells.

Just then, a snow-white figure burst out of the sea and stopped directly in front of Mu Li and Tapu Fini.

This was a Pokémon, and when it stretched out, it was two or three stories high. In front of it, Mu Li and Tapu Fini appeared so tiny. It was entirely snow-white with a light blue underside, its body streamlined, its neck slender, its face seemingly wearing a snow-white helmet, and its two wings resembled two giant hands.

This was the legendary Sea God Lugia.

Accompanied by a deafening roar, Lugia flashed and appeared directly in front of Mu Li, opening its mouth to bite down. A translucent barrier appeared beside Mu Li, blocking Lugia's attack.

The next moment, the two Pokémon began to battle.

In an instant, the sky flashed with lightning and boomed with thunder.

An hour later, Mu Li quietly returned to the Mushroom House. He looked at the sleeping Zhang Xiaoyang and Peng Xiaochang, then lay down himself and fell into a dream.

He slept straight until 10 AM the next day.

When Mu Li got out of bed, everyone was already up except for Zhang Xiaoyang.

“I heard there was a storm last night, but it seemed to come and go quickly,” He Lin asked, looking at the incredibly calm sea.

“I slept like a log last night, so I had no idea what was happening outside,” Huang Xiaochu laughed, “I haven’t slept this soundly in a long time.”

“Me too,” Zhang Xiaofeng echoed, “But I feel especially energized after waking up this morning.”

“Really? I barely slept last night, probably got up every twenty minutes or so,” Peng Xiaochang looked a bit tired. “I even saw A Li go out last night. I wanted to call him, but I couldn’t make a sound, and my body couldn’t move.”

He Lin couldn't help but twitch his lips, retorting, “My dear boy, is it possible that you were just dreaming?”

“Ah? Really?” Peng Xiaochang was stunned. “But it felt so real?”

“You probably had a dream within a dream, didn’t you?” Mu Li couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ve had dream-within-a-dream experiences too, where I thought I woke up, but I was actually still in the dream.”

“No, I really felt it was very real…” Peng Xiaochang murmured.

He Lin directly changed the subject: “Why don’t you go get yourself ready? Your good friend will be here soon.”

Peng Xiaochang curled his lips dismissively: “No need to be so grand to meet him.”

“Oh? Who’s coming to visit later?” Mu Li asked curiously.

The Mushroom House welcomes different guests every day, from the film and television industry to the music industry, and even athletes, hosts, famous writers, etc., which is a major highlight of the show.

“Liu Xiaoran, Peng Peng’s good friend,” He Lin explained.

Liu Xiaoran, currently a hot new generation actor, whose representative work is the “Detective Chinatown” series. Compared to Peng Xiaochang, his film and television resources are clearly much better, and his acting range is also very wide in all aspects.

Unlike Peng Xiaochang, who is currently mainly struggling in some anime-adapted dramas.

However, it must be said that Peng Xiaochang does have a unique advantage in the anime sphere; at least he is usually quite chuunibyou.

While they were talking, Zhang Xiaoyang also got up, but his face looked very bad.

“What’s wrong? Feeling unwell?” He Lin stepped forward and asked.

Zhang Xiaoyang nodded reluctantly: “Stomach ache, feels like it’s being twisted with a knife.” As he spoke, his brow furrowed, seemingly as his stomach pain began to act up again, and he walked directly to the restroom.

He Lin looked worriedly in the direction Zhang Xiaoyang left: “Should we give him some medicine? But I don’t dare to give him medicine casually. I’m afraid taking it on an empty stomach will stimulate the stomach pain even more.”

“I’ll pour some hot water for Brother Zhang.” Mu Li saw Zhang Xiaoyang quickly come out of the restroom and return to his room, so he followed him back.

As soon as he entered the room, Mu Li saw Zhang Xiaoyang clutching his stomach, curled up in a ball.

“Are you alright, Brother?” Mu Li asked.

Zhang Xiaoyang shook his head with difficulty: “It’s just a stomach ache.”

“Gardevoir knows some healing methods. How about letting her try to help you?” Mu Li asked.

“Ah? Gardevoir? Can she?” Zhang Xiaoyang was a bit unsure.

“Yes, she can. She usually helps me with any minor injuries or pains, so I don’t even carry medicine when I go out anymore,” Mu Li said.

As he spoke, Zhang Xiaoyang’s face turned pale again, and he let out a painful groan.

“Gardevoir!” With Mu Li’s summons, Gardevoir floated into the room.

“Brother, just try it first, it should be able to relieve it a bit.” Without waiting for Zhang Xiaoyang’s answer, Mu Li winked at Gardevoir.

Immediately after, a drop of Life Dew condensed at Gardevoir’s fingertip, gradually flew towards Zhang Xiaoyang, and seeped into his body.

Zhang Xiaoyang couldn’t help but let out a groan, and the pain on his face visibly dissipated at a rapid speed.

“How are you, Brother?” Mu Li asked.

Zhang Xiaoyang’s face showed a hint of surprise. He suddenly sat up and touched his stomach: “Huh? It doesn’t hurt anymore?”

Gardevoir instinctively retorted, “That’s Life Dew. How could it not cure a little stomach ache?”

“Huh?” Zhang Xiaoyang was stunned for a moment, and subconsciously looked at Gardevoir, “Did you just speak?”

Gardevoir couldn’t help but roll its eyes: “Otherwise?”

Mu Li couldn’t help but twitch his lips: Why are all of his Pokémon so ill-tempered? Even Gardevoir has learned to retort.

“No… how can you speak?” Zhang Xiaoyang was a bit incoherent.

“This is telepathy,” Mu Li explained. “Psychic Pokémon like Gardevoir can learn it, but they need to master Psychic abilities to communicate with their Trainer.”

What Mu Li didn’t explain was that Psychic Pokémon can only communicate through telepathy when they are close enough to their Trainer. For Gardevoir to communicate telepathically with someone she’s not familiar with, the difficulty is not just a little bit higher.

Seeing that Zhang Xiaoyang was fine, Gardevoir vanished directly.

Mu Li sighed helplessly: “Don’t mind her. Let’s go down for breakfast. Teacher Huang was making noodles just now. Eating something hot will make you feel more comfortable.”

He Lin, who was busy getting out bowls, watched Zhang Xiaoyang walk downstairs with a normal expression and asked curiously, “It doesn’t hurt anymore?”

Zhang Xiaoyang smiled and nodded: “Gardevoir helped with some healing, and it stopped hurting immediately.”

“Oh!” He Lin looked enlightened. He knew that Gardevoir had a talent for healing, and because of the lack of healing-type Pokémon, many Pokémon Trainers’ teams would have Gardevoir act as a healer.

However, for Gardevoir, mastering healing skills is much harder than skillfully using Psychic abilities. Under normal circumstances, Gardevoir would still appear as a main attacker of the Psychic type.

He Lin has been a host for so many years and is quite knowledgeable about Pokémon battles. He also knows that most of the Pokémon raised by celebrities have very weak battle abilities, as everyone simply doesn’t have the time to specifically improve in that area.

Pokémon like Gardevoir are very popular with celebrities due to their aesthetic appeal, but the Gardevoir trained by these celebrities, let alone their healing abilities, can’t even use their Psychic abilities skillfully, mostly only knowing some basic Psychic moves.

As soon as he thought of this, He Lin couldn't help but ask, “A Li, your Pokémon all seem to be well-trained, don't they? Have they undergone specialized training in this area?”

Mu Li didn't deny it and replied with a smile, “I was particularly fond of Pokémon battles back in middle school. I was a Pokémon Trainer then, but I stopped playing after high school.”

“I see,” He Lin nodded in understanding. “That’s very good then. I feel like your Pokémon are all quite strong.”

Mu Li could only scratch his head and humbly say, “They’re alright.”

Mu Li thought to himself: I can’t just answer, “I’m the best in the world,” can I?

He was quite familiar with many people in the entertainment industry and had a general understanding of the level of Pokémon raised by celebrities in the industry—to describe it in one word: abysmal.

Many skill usage methods that he considered perfectly normal turned out to be quite astonishing to ordinary people.

For example, Gengar’s Dimensional Space. Back when he was still competing, it seemed that every Heavenly King Level Gengar could use this move; it was just a matter of proficiency.

Also, moves like Teleport and Life Dew, most Heavenly King Level players’ teams would have at least one Pokémon that knew these moves. In Mu Li’s opinion, these moves should be known by everyone, so he never held back or concealed them.

But he never expected that when he understood the state of the entertainment industry, or rather, the state of Pokémon raised by ordinary people, he still found it a bit hard to adapt.

Many people actually believed that the things he casually did, like using Psychic abilities to tidy up rooms and clean houses, were achieved through video editing.

Regarding these matters, Mu Li didn't know how to explain, or rather, he felt that explaining these things was very tiring, and he didn't want to spend that energy dealing with them.

However, what Mu Li didn’t know was that these things he did so casually were not easy even for Champion Level players.

This is also why so many people would rather believe Mu Li edited the video than believe he could actually do it.

When something can only be done by 0.01% of people, it becomes an extremely low-probability event.

In the eyes of ordinary people, this is something that simply wouldn’t appear in the real world. Even if they saw it, they would be more inclined to believe they were deceived, especially when it happened right in front of them.

And our Brother Zhang just happened to see the introduction of Gardevoir’s Telepathy ability while searching for Gardevoir-related information.

Telepathy, the ability to perceive the emotional fluctuations of humans and other Pokémon, and even clearly foresee the future.

Brother Zhang suddenly realized: So this is Gardevoir’s ability, Pokémon are truly amazing.

At the same time, the first guest of this season’s Mushroom House finally arrived.
