Star City, Mango TV, Happy Saturday recording studio.
Having just finished a day of recording, He Lin was preparing to invite the other guests for a late-night snack as usual, when Yu Rui, the director of Happy Saturday, approached He Lin.
“Teacher He, one of our guests for tomorrow’s recording can’t make it at the last minute. We need to find someone to fill in. Do you have any recommendations?” Yu Rui asked.
Normally, in such situations, the production team would handle it themselves. The fact that the production team was doing this now clearly meant they were giving He Lin the right to choose the guest, which was also a way for the production team to show goodwill towards He Lin.
He Lin rarely used this right, because if he wanted to insert someone into the show, he would directly tell the production team to arrange it in advance.
Happy Saturday invites many guests for each episode, and He Lin’s requests are basically always met. So when the production team asked, he originally wanted them to choose someone themselves, but he suddenly remembered that he would be going to record 《Good Life》 (Wonderful Life) in a couple of days, which made him think of Mu Li.
“How about this, I have a new singer here. It just so happens I can have him appear on an episode. What do you think?” He Lin said directly.
“No problem,” Yu Rui replied. “Does the production team need to contact his agent?”
“Director Yu, please wait a moment. I’ll ask him about his schedule. That kid has been quite busy lately.” After He Lin finished speaking, he picked up his phone and dialed Mu Li’s number, completely forgetting that it was still 4 AM.
On the other side, Mu Li was sleeping soundly when his phone suddenly rang. The Sylveon beside him instantly bristled, and with a ribbon, it smacked Mu Li’s backside.
Although it didn't use much force, it was enough to make Mu Li feel refreshed.
“Teacher He? Is there something you need at this late hour?” Mu Li answered He Lin’s call, speaking with a hint of resentment.
He Lin apologized, “I’m sorry, I forgot it was still early morning. It’s like this: a guest for Happy Saturday can’t make it last minute. Are you available to fill in?”
He Lin explained the situation in a few brief sentences.
“Sure, I don’t have anything planned for the next two days anyway,” Mu Li agreed readily without much thought.
Seeing that Mu Li agreed, He Lin didn’t say much more and simply hung up the phone.
Mu Li looked at the wide-eyed Sylveon with a resentful expression, “Can’t you be a little gentler?”
“Boo-ee! Boo-ee!!”
Seeing Sylveon about to bristle again, Mu Li noticed Jigglypuff nearby also showing signs of waking up. His expression immediately changed, realizing the situation was not good. He quickly scooped Sylveon into his arms and comforted it, “Alright, alright, it’s all this phone’s fault.”
Without waiting for Mu Li’s command, Gengar directly unleashed two Hypnosis.
The whole world fell silent.
Gengar sighed helplessly, took out Mu Li’s phone to book a morning flight for Mu Li, and then returned to the shadows.
This series of actions was almost too practiced, so practiced that it made one feel a little sorry for it.
Early the next morning, in a daze, Mu Li was thrown onto Togekiss’s back by Gardevoir. He arrived at the airport in his sleep, completed the check-in and boarding process, and still hadn’t woken up even after the plane landed.
“Shana?”
“Chirp chirp?”
Gardevoir and Togekiss, two Pokémon, looked at the completely unfamiliar Star City and were instantly stunned.
Gardevoir: “Where are we going?”
Togekiss: “I don’t know either?”
Fortunately, Gengar emerged and said, “I heard on the phone yesterday that it seemed like we were going to record some show, but I don’t know the exact time of the recording, so I bought the earliest flight.”
Jigglypuff and Sylveon also came out of their Poké Balls.
“Why don’t we call and ask?” Sylveon suggested. “It seems like it was a person named He Lin who called.”
Jigglypuff puffed out its cheeks and said, “Are you stupid? We can’t speak human language.”
“Doesn’t Gardevoir know how?” Sylveon asked.
Gardevoir said helplessly, “I can only speak through telepathy when we meet in person.”
“Then what should we do?” Sylveon said with a frown, noticing that someone seemed to have noticed them.
“Let’s go first.” Gardevoir directly moved Mu Li onto Togekiss’s back, and many Pokémon also jumped on, flying away directly before the crowd gathered.
Many Pokémon sat on Togekiss’s back, looking worried. Gardevoir sighed, “First day missing Tapu Fini.”
“Why do you miss her?” Jigglypuff asked curiously. “Don’t you two not get along?”
“Because Tapu Fini can speak human language, you idiot,” Sylveon retorted.
“Why has Gengar lived for so long and still can’t speak? I’ve seen Gengar on TV that can speak human language?” Jigglypuff asked.
Gengar’s face immediately drooped, “I’m really sorry I can’t speak, okay?”
“Are there any other Pokémon in our family that can speak human language?” Sylveon asked.
Gardevoir thought for a moment and replied, “Giratina can, but I’m afraid its appearance would scare these humans to death.”
Sylveon rolled its eyes in annoyance, “Besides that ghost dragon, are there no other Pokémon that can speak human language?”
“Lugia can, Manaphy can…” Jigglypuff said excitedly, “It seems all those legendary Pokémon can speak!”
“What’s the use of that…” Gengar muttered, “Those guys are even less seen by people than I am.”
As the Pokémon were talking, another Pokémon suddenly emerged from its Poké Ball.
“Big Sister? Why are you here?” Jigglypuff exclaimed.
The one who came out was Mu Li’s Ninetales, who absolutely refused to leave the house. Ninetales floated directly beside Togekiss.
“Where are we going?” Ninetales asked after yawning.
“I don’t know. Gengar booked A Li an early morning flight, and A Li still hasn’t woken up yet,” Jigglypuff promptly complained.
“Call that woman named Liu Yun, isn’t she A Li’s agent?” Ninetales said.
“But none of us can speak human language,” Sylveon reminded.
“Oh, if you didn’t say anything, I would have forgotten.” Ninetales also remembered that she could only communicate with humans through Psychic.
“Are there really no Pokémon in our family, with so many of us, that can speak human language?” Ninetales was a bit angry.
Gardevoir said helplessly, “I originally brought Tapu Fini with me, but it was replaced by a silly dragon.”
As if hearing Gardevoir’s call, Gyarados also wanted to come out of its Poké Ball, but as soon as the Poké Ball glowed, Gardevoir immediately pressed it back, “You’re too big. We’re above the city right now, it’s not convenient for you to come out.”
Gyarados’s Poké Ball quickly quieted down.
“If worst comes to worst, just wake A Li up,” Ninetales suggested.
“If you want to hit him, you hit him,” Sylveon said, indicating it didn’t want to take the blame. “I just woke him up by hitting him last night. If I hit him again, I’ll have to sleep alone tonight.”
“Forget it, A Li’s morning temper is no joke. I don’t want to be tormented by him either,” Ninetales considered for a moment, then sighed, “This terrible temper, I don’t know who he takes after.”
Gardevoir said helplessly, “How many Pokémon in our family don’t have a morning temper?”
“I don’t,” Gengar interjected.
“You don’t even need to sleep, what kind of morning temper would you have…,” Jigglypuff retorted, “Do you know why your eyes are red? It’s from staying up without sleeping!”
Gengar immediately slumped, its expression downcast as it turned its body sideways and began drawing circles on the ground, muttering continuously, “Curse you, Curse you, Curse you.”
As Gengar drew circles with its hand, faint wisps of Ghost energy gradually gathered, but as soon as this power accumulated, it was directly dispelled by the light emanating from Togekiss.
Ninetales couldn’t help but cover its face with its tail, “This silly Gengar, it doesn’t even change places to use Curse, it just has to use it on Togekiss’s back.”
“Stop playing, we need to figure something out now. We can’t just let A Li keep flying like this, can we?” Gardevoir said.
“Oh, right, doesn’t that silly phone talk?” Ninetales suddenly said.
“That’s right, Rotom can talk!” Gardevoir also remembered.
Gardevoir was about to take out the phone to make a call when Togekiss’s speed gradually decreased.
“Why aren’t you flying anymore, Togekiss?” Gardevoir asked.
“I accidentally sped. An Officer issued a warning. If I don’t stop now, I’ll lose 12 points. If my pilot’s license gets revoked, A Li will cry himself to death,” Togekiss said helplessly.
“That’s right!” Gardevoir’s eyes lit up. “We can just ask the Officer to pass on the message for us.”
As they spoke, an Officer riding a Pidgeot caught up from behind Togekiss, signaling Togekiss to descend.
After landing, the Officer looked at the pile of Pokémon and the sleeping person, stunned, “What’s going on here?”
After some communication, Gardevoir finally explained the whole story, and the Officer looked at the group of adorable Pokémon with a bit of helplessness.
After Gardevoir called Liu Yun, Liu Yun only then realized that Mu Li had already arrived in Star City. She explained somewhat helplessly, “I just called Teacher He’s assistant. Teacher He went to bed very late last night, so he’s probably not awake yet. You can go directly to this address and look for a woman named Guan Xin; she’s Teacher He’s assistant. I’ve already explained the situation to her.”
After hanging up the phone, Gardevoir also received a location pin.
“Are you sure you don’t need my help?” The Officer reconfirmed.
“No, thank you. We can just go to that pinned location. If we can’t find it then, we’ll ask someone else for help,” Gardevoir explained.
“If all else fails, just wake your trainer up then, seeing how much you care for him,” the Officer said with a smile. “But also, pay attention, this time is fine, but when flying in the city later, your speed must not exceed 150. I almost got left behind by you just now.”
Gardevoir nodded, “We’ll be careful.”
With the location, the many Pokémon quickly found their way, but the assistant named Guan Xin was still startled when she saw the many Pokémon.
When the many Pokémon learned that the show was only going to be recorded in the evening, they immediately became upset.
Gengar, seeing the situation was not good, immediately drilled into the shadows.
Seeing Mu Li still asleep, Guan Xin directly booked him a room next to Mango TV.
It must be said that Gengar’s Hypnosis was incredibly powerful; Mu Li slept straight from 4 AM to 12 PM.
When he opened his eyes and saw the unfamiliar surroundings and ceiling, he couldn’t help but say, “Who am I? Where am I? What is this place?”
