This equipment was obtained by Mo some time ago, and it was precisely because of this that he changed his original plan. He did not hide much in front of Fara, but instead repeatedly provoked him after admitting his identity.
If Mo had followed his initial plan, the final outcome should have been Galahad and Fara perishing together, and that God of Law would never have known the Sin Duke's identity until his death...
However, even though he had activated the 'Undying Evil' effect half an hour before reaching Banshe City, he still observed for a moment before making his decision.
From beginning to end, every detail was under Mo's control. There were no unexpected changes or developments, including...
That tall figure in the distance, running wildly towards them, an Deputy named Cui Xiaoyu, nicknamed Cordova, and affectionately called Xianglin Sao by others, the Rune Creation of Tian Zhu Mountain!
“You really came just in time…” Mo slowly walked towards the old man who had fallen not far in front of him, and casually pointed at the rapidly approaching Cordova, softly saying, “Clementine, tie that person up.”
A cold sensation came from his neck, and a graceful body pressed tightly against Mo's back. The woman gently licked the sharp blade she held against her 'master's' artery, giggling, “But my dear master~ rather than tying up that unappealing fellow, Clementine would much rather tie you up. You know, you were just hit by such powerful magic, I wonder how much is left of you now…”
“Has the trait of betrayal been triggered?” Mo turned his head expressionlessly, coldly looking at this neurotic female warrior he had summoned through the Dark Tome: “With your strength, even with only one arm, you should be able to tie him up, right?”
The other party seemingly intimately wrapped her arms around Mo's shoulders from behind, but the long blades in her hands were pressed tightly against her master's throat and heart respectively. An uncontrollable madness appeared on her beautiful and lovely face as she chuckled, “Perhaps, but if it's the master, then it definitely takes both hands to…”
Puff!!!
A splash of dazzling blood splattered out. When Clementine reacted, her master, whom she had been tightly embracing, had already walked several steps away, and as he walked, he casually threw out…
That bloody, forcibly torn off, still twitching arm that had belonged to her just seconds ago!
“If you understand, then don't waste any more time.”
A light remark came from not far ahead…
Clementine obediently bowed to that figure, extended her tongue to lightly lick her ghastly wound, and respectfully lowered her head, “Yes, my dear master.”
The next second, this one-armed madwoman had already appeared behind Cordova, her long blade slashing dozens of cold glints at him from above, laughing maniacally: “Hey, hunk~ come play with big sister for a while!!”
“Who are you!” Cordova was instantly terrified, and in a hurry, immediately swung the executor's staff in his hand in a 360° arc, turning to glare at the woman who had somehow stopped on his weapon, angrily saying, “Don't block the way!”
“Hehe! So hard~” Clementine laughed rather comically, transforming into a ghostly phantom that moved rapidly around Cordova, firmly pinning him in place, while giggling, “For my dearest, dearest master, I've decided to tie you up properly, young man… Tsk tsk, what exactly is hidden inside your body? Big sister is very curious!”
“MMP! Your lines are really terrible!” Cordova roared, finally temporarily giving up his plan to rush to Fara's side. He narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Clementine's strange, fast, elusive, and somewhat sexy figure, preparing to deal with this somewhat perverted big sister in front of him first.
I definitely can't get past her without taking her down!
Cordova knew this clearly.
“Oh~ Are you shy? Then could you please bleed a little for big sister to see?” Clementine fiercely slashed Cordova's back with a sword, asking with a smile, “Or can your strange body bleed something else?”
“Bastard!”
“Hehe, don't be angry, big sister will let you have one arm!”
“Don't provoke a virgin, you bastard!”
Meanwhile, Mo, who was gradually walking towards where Fara had fallen, gently clenched his fist, feeling the crazy and surging power within him, and smiled with satisfaction.
On the index finger of his right hand, the ring named 【Evil Enlightenment】 was quietly burning.
Under the 【Burning Sin】 effect, which doubled his basic attributes, Mo was now unreasonably powerful. Of course, from an NPC's perspective, this power was not outrageous, but this power should absolutely not belong to a player…
But on closer inspection, this was still reasonable.
The 【Evil Enlightenment】 equipment was definitely a double-edged sword, and in some ways, it was even more damaging to the wearer. Although it could prevent death if used properly, and had the powerful buff effect of 【Burning Sin】, the price was too high.
The consequences of 72 hours of weakness after use, with all attributes and values dropping to 1 and 1%, and being unable to use any skills or items, were obvious. This meant that even an ordinary player who had just created an account could easily kill him, and this was a necessary price to pay. Even if no fatal blow was negated, the user would still suffer such consequences after the duration of 【Undying Evil】 ended.
Moreover, after the 72 hours of absolute weakness ended, the user would have to continuously equip 【Evil Enlightenment】 for the next two months, and the attributes of this ring were very overbearing. In short, it proportionally weakened the wearer's attributes, resistances, and various values, and for players, it also occupied an equipment slot. It could absolutely be said to be all harm and no benefit.
So, it was not without reason that the quality of this item was excellent. For ordinary players, its cost-effectiveness was extremely low; calling it trash would not be an exaggeration.
But Mo didn't care, and he maximized its utility.
“Step back.” Passing by the still-shaken Ji Xiaodao, Mo waved his hand at Garros and Galahad, who were standing by, then looked at the dying old man in front of him…
Fara lay on his back in a pile of rubble, his skin and muscles all torn open. His magnificent robe had now become tattered, bloody strips clinging to him. His cloudy eyes were stained a dark red by blood. Two-thirds of his only remaining arm was blown off, leaving only a short section of bone exposed, still oozing the little blood he had left. And in his chest, there was a bowl-sized blood hole, the only injury not self-inflicted…
“Can't you speak anymore?” Mo looked at the old man in front of him, who could lose his last breath at any moment, and softly said, “It's regrettable, you almost killed me, God of Law.”
Fara forced his almost-blind eyes wide open, staring intently at Mo for a long time before slowly shaking his head. His shriveled chest rose and fell slightly, as if he were sighing.
“This is not your fault.” Mo squatted beside him and smiled gently, “This world has always been so absurd and irrational. Whether it's objectively evil people or good people, they have never received fair treatment. Of course, the words 'fairness' themselves are absurd and meaningless…”
Fara's cloudy eyes held only indifference, and he showed no reaction to Mo's words.
“Alright, I know you don't care about these things, hmm, noble one.” Mo shrugged, then suddenly stared into Fara's eyes and asked, “Do you regret it?”
The dying old man seemed to be stunned for a moment, then shook his head with a sense of release.
He knew he had done his best, truly done his best…
Whether as the guardian of a nation or as the Deputy of Tian Zhu Mountain…
This old man, who always adhered to morality and principles, with kindness and loyalty in his heart, had done his best…
Faraosis, this person who was as ordinary as could be, had no regrets at this moment.
He had done everything he could, he had fought bravely with everything he had.
“No regrets, even a little bit of pride, right?” Mo smiled, slowly putting his right hand behind his back: “I saw it in your eyes.”
At this moment, Fara's body had completely reached the brink of collapse. His consciousness was almost dissipating, and his eyes were slowly closing…
But even in his haze, he still nodded slightly.
Yes, there are no regrets anymore.
“Is that so? That's good.” Mo seemed to hear his answer, and smiled as he raised his right hand.
Black flames wrapped in blood light exploded in the distance. Cordova, who was fighting Clementine, was almost instantly thrown back by a powerful heatwave. At the same time, a system prompt sounded in his ear.
Mission: Assassinate, Failed, World Collapse Rate increased by 5%
You have triggered a side quest: Assassinate II, Completion Reward: None, Failure Penalty: None
“Is that guy dead?” Cordova sighed deeply, slowly climbed up from the ground, looking at the knights around him who were approaching under Galahad's command. He felt that let alone completing the new side quest, even getting out alive was a bit iffy.
These NPCs don't seem like good people to mess with…
He tightened his grip on the executor's staff in his hand, just about to turn and fight his way out, when he was stopped by a beautiful girl with silver long hair.
“Don't be in a hurry to leave yet.” Ji Xiaodao, who had received Mo's message, softly said to Cordova, “We have no intention of ganging up on you.”
Clementine had already returned to her master's side, seemingly assisting Garros with something, and replacing her in stopping Cordova was none other than Ji Xiaodao, and…
You can fight him for a bit, though you probably won't win.
This was the second message Mo sent.
The girl, who had been somewhat uneasy since earlier, suddenly felt annoyed. Fara's death was not without impact on Ji Xiaodao. In fact, although she knew the other party was just an NPC, she still felt some sympathy for the God of Law…
And a certain self-loathing that was gradually growing also made Ji Xiaodao's mood somewhat complex…
So, she needed to vent!
“Probably won't win” means there's still a chance to win!
“If you don't want to be ganged up on…” The girl drew out the twin swords from her back with a flick of her wrist, and coldly said to Cordova, “Then spend some time fighting with me.”
Cordova: “Huh?”
The Dark Elf's lithe body had already appeared behind him in an instant.
Active Skill 【Dual Control】 activated!
The short sword 【night rain】 in her left hand was held in a reverse grip and swung upwards, unleashing several dark red flame shadows.
The long sword 【silent return】 in her right hand danced lightly, cutting down a shower of black rain and ice marks.
Cordova was hit squarely by two skills simultaneously used by Ji Xiaodao before he even had time to react.
Illusory Flame Sword Bloom + Dark Ice Swift Rain
“Is this all you've got?” Ji Xiaodao reappeared in her previous position through the shadows, and coldly said to Cordova, who had fire burning on one side of his body and ice covering the other, “Aren't you going to fight back? You shouldn't be dead yet.”
Immediately after, she felt the ground tremble, and she was actually shaken into the air…
And at the spot where she was about to fall, Cordova, who had just stomped his foot on the ground, held his 'staff' with both hands, adopting a baseball swing stance.
“Take this! Normal Attack — Home Run!”
