Chapter 42: First film choice

With only three days left until the AMA Awards ceremony (January 18th), Linton had a rare two days off, as he was scheduled to go to Universal for rehearsals and image design on January 17th.

Remembering that the chefs for the estate had not yet been hired, he asked his housekeeper, Amy, “How many chefs have applied so far?”

“We had six applicants, and after background checks, four remain who meet our requirements.

These four all come from respectable families, have no negative records, and each has over 10 years of chef experience.

When do you have time for us to notify them for an interview?”

“Tomorrow, arrange a place for the interviews and notify them.”

“Alright, I’ll arrange it immediately.”

“Are there any other important matters around the house these past two days?”

“Nothing else, except Nicole seems to have installed quite a few things on the perimeter wall.”

“That’s fine.

He is installing surveillance cameras; many of the old ones were already broken.

From now on, the estate’s security will be entirely his responsibility.”

“I understand,” Amy responded.

Linton took a leisurely stroll around the estate, swam a few laps in the swimming pool, and worked out for two hours in the gym, enjoying a rare moment of relaxation.

However, with his Cultivate Qi at the 8th layer, the swimming pool and gym workouts did little to improve his physical fitness; they were merely for entertainment.

Never mind, I should consider the next phase of my work plan.

My debut album has been a huge success, and I’ve become a popular singer and youth idol, with very high popularity.

My Cultivate has also progressed rapidly, achieving my first-stage goal.

The AMA live performance and awards in a couple of days will be a further affirmation of my success, and should also help promote and sell the album.

After finishing the advertising endorsements in February, I should start filming a movie.

From this year onwards, it would be best to star in one movie annually to further boost my popularity, ensure sustained success, and accelerate my Cultivate speed.

On this basis, I should release a few singles each year, and if time permits, try to release an album, as the popularity brought by being a singer is not bad and should not be easily given up.

Now I need to consider my first movie.

The investment for the first movie shouldn’t be too large; it needs to have box office potential, and more importantly, it needs to promote me.

The protagonist should ideally share commonalities with my current situation, and the scenes shouldn’t be too complex, as it’s my first time directing a movie.

Given these conditions, “step up,” a movie I particularly liked before, seems quite suitable.

As I recall, the director of this movie was also a newcomer.

With an investment of less than 10 million us dollars, it achieved a box office of 6 5 million us dollars in North America and 114 million US dollars worldwide.

The movie’s plot is relatively simple, with no complex scenes or special effects.

The male lead is very handsome and attracts many fans.

Additionally, I can originate (copy) 16 songs for it, which perfectly fits my identity as a Genius singer.

Perfect, that’s the one.

I’ll write (copy) the script as soon as possible during this time.

The plot of “step up” is actually very simple, telling a beautiful fairy tale about dreams coming true:

Having lived his entire life struggling on the tough city streets, Tyler Gage never gave up on his dreams despite life’s hardships.

He knew he was different and that one day he would leave here to start a new life.

Tyler never imagined that his destiny would fundamentally change when he was forced into community service for vandalizing an installation at the Maryland School of Arts.

While performing community service at the Maryland School of Arts, he caught the attention of a ballet Genius named Nora.

...

Tyler proved to himself and Nora through his actions that a life of dancing is even more wonderful than imagined.

However, writing a complete script still requires time and effort.

Alright, I’ll seclude myself to write the script.

The next morning, Linton, Amy, and Goodman formed a recruitment team and interviewed four chefs at a restaurant (which they rented out) that Amy had arranged in advance.

Each interviewed chef cooked eight dishes, prepared pastries and desserts on the spot to showcase their culinary skills, and invited the recruitment team to taste them.

After comprehensive consideration, Linton ultimately chose a chef named Li Fuhai, a 42-year-old second-generation Chinese American who excelled at both Eastern and Western cuisine.

He had previously worked as a chef in a restaurant in Chinatown.

“Li Fuhai, if we hire you, when can you start working?”

“I’ll go back and resign from my current job today, and I can complete the onboarding process tomorrow and start officially the day after tomorrow, is that alright?”

“No rush.

I’ll give you three days to properly handle your current job.

After three days, you can find Goodman, and he will handle your onboarding process and the signing of a non-disclosure agreement.

After that, you can contact Amy, and she will arrange your work.”

Linton was very pleased to have found a satisfactory chef; he could finally enjoy various delicious meals at home.

He didn’t go out in the afternoon, continuing to seclude himself to write the script.

On the morning of the 17th, Linton arrived at Universal Studios and met with Jimmy and others to go to the Hollywood Bowl for a live rehearsal.

Jimmy first took him, Mira, his assistant Molly, and the stylist and makeup artist to the dressing room prepared by the AMA for Linton, repeatedly reminding Mira and the others to come early tomorrow and to thoroughly inspect the dressing room upon arrival to prevent any accidents.

Linton compared it and found that his dressing room was one of the largest, thinking that the AMA had seemingly acknowledged his star status.

Annie made slight adjustments to the backup dancers’ formations based on the stage’s characteristics.

Everyone was very professional and hardworking, and the rehearsal went smoothly.

After the rehearsal, everyone returned to Universal Studios for image design and makeup.

In the afternoon, upon arriving at his exclusive dressing room at Universal, Linton’s exclusive image designer and makeup artist were already waiting.

The image designer had prepared two outfits for him: an Armani tuxedo with a white shirt for the awards ceremony, making him look dignified and handsome.

For his performance, he would change into a powerful outfit: a tight-fitting vest on top and tight dance pants below, revealing explosive muscles on his shoulders and arms, exuding strength, sexiness, and passion, with his hormones practically overflowing.

The makeup artist gave him light makeup, saying, “Perfect, so handsome.

We’ll do it like this tomorrow.”

Finally, Jimmy announced that tomorrow’s AMA would be held at the Hollywood Bowl at 8 PM, and everyone should gather at the company at 5 PM tomorrow for unified transportation.

Linton, of course, was an exception; he needed to arrive at 4:30 PM.

After his exclusive image designer and makeup artist finished his makeup, he would then head to the Hollywood Bowl to walk the red carpet and give interviews as arranged by the organizers.
