Chapter 121: Dead duck has a tough mouth

Li Yu and Zhao Dapao, dozens of meters away, rushed towards the car.

Li Tie, only a dozen meters from the vehicle, also rushed over.

The car's rear tires were ruined, and the front of the car had started smoking from hitting a roadside tree.

After the apocalypse arrived, with no traffic police to remind them, few people wore seatbelts.

The people inside the car probably hadn't buckled up either; the airbags hadn't deployed, and the violent impact had left them disoriented.

The middle-aged man in the passenger seat was thrown forward by the impact, hitting the windshield directly and falling unconscious.

The three people in the back row weren't feeling well either. One young man was slightly better; he pushed the car door, making a creaking sound, but managed to open it.

Before he could get out of the car, Li Tie had already approached.

A gun was pressed against the young man's head.

"Hands on your head, squat on the ground," Li Tie shouted.

The young man looked up slightly, saw the cold muzzle of the gun, and shivered.

He tremblingly complied, moving his body and slowly stepping out of the car.

The other two people in the back seat of the car slowly recovered. One of them reached for a long spear, about to make a move, but Li Tie's peripheral vision had been observing the inside of the car.

"Both of you, get out! Hands on your head!" Li Tie roared.

At the same time, Li Yu and Zhao Dapao also ran to the car.

Li Yu didn't go to open the car door; instead, he used the butt of his gun to directly smash the car window.

Crash!

The car window shattered, and Li Yu looked at the two people inside the car, feeling somewhat familiar.

"Get out!" Li Yu said.

After saying this, he looked at the middle-aged man in the passenger seat. The middle-aged man seemed to be in a coma, his head having hit the windshield, his forehead broken and bleeding.

The two people in the car still hadn't moved, perhaps because the crash had damaged their brains, or for some other reason.

At this moment, facing the muzzles of Li Yu and the others, they remained motionless inside the car.

They might have wanted to resist, but facing the threat of firearms, they were powerless. They were somewhat afraid, but even more worried that there would be no good outcome if they got out.

Li Yu's patience with enemies had always been poor.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out, directly hitting the arm of the man sitting by the window. This hand had vaguely tried to grab a weapon earlier.

"Ah! My hand!" The man whose arm was hit instantly turned pale. He covered the injured area with his other hand, but blood still flowed from the wound.

"Last chance, get out," Li Yu said impatiently.

The two people finally got out of the car.

"You, help that person in the passenger seat out of the car," Li Yu said, pointing his gun at the person in the middle seat, speaking in a commanding tone.

Li Yu didn't want to open it himself; caution was always the best policy.

Under the cover of the car door, he tried not to open it himself. What if the person inside had a weapon hidden under the door? The moment he opened the door, at close range, he could easily be ambushed by the person inside.

Under the deterrence of the gun, that person had no choice but to walk over and open the car door.

The middle-aged man inside the car, whether truly unconscious or not, had been leaning against the window. Now that the door was open, he directly slid out of the car.

He looked genuinely unconscious.

Until then, a dagger fell from the man's body, clattering onto the asphalt road.

Clang!

Li Yu looked at the dagger on the ground, then at the middle-aged man with a playful expression.

"Stop pretending, who are you?" Li Yu looked at the three people in front of him.

The three people were huddled, squatting on the ground.

One sat directly on the wet ground, holding his arm, his head down.

One was half-squatting, supporting the middle-aged man just pulled from the car, with a look of fear in his eyes.

The middle-aged man was like a puddle of mud, blood from his forehead already flowing down his cheek, still motionless.

The three people heard Li Yu's question but did not answer.

Zhao Dapao, beside Li Yu, looked at the person helping the middle-aged man out of the car, finding him more and more familiar.

"Yu Ge, this person, why do I find him a bit familiar? What do you think?" Zhao Dapao said to Li Yu beside him, pointing at the person.

Li Yu had felt this person was somewhat familiar just now, but for a moment, he couldn't recall where he had seen him.

The person on the ground became even more nervous after hearing Zhao Dapao's words, quickly lowering his head.

Li Tie, however, seemed to remember something at this moment and said, "We saw him in the county town, at the driving school, among Hao Ge's group."

"Lift your head!" Zhao Dapao said, pressing his gun directly against the person's head.

The person lifted his head. Li Yu looked at this face and instantly remembered. Tie Zi was right; this person really seemed to be from Hao Ge's group in the county town.

There were many people in that group at the time. Although most of them were killed, a small number escaped by climbing over the wall.

So, who was this middle-aged man?

He understood reconnaissance and could find the direction Li Yu and his group were driving from subtle clues. This was no ordinary person!

Li Yu looked at this middle-aged man. Although he was lying on the ground, one could tell he was strong, with thick fingers, broad shoulders, and slightly bulging muscles, all confirming the middle-aged man's extraordinary nature.

Seeing the middle-aged man on the ground still motionless, Li Yu took a few steps back and shouted at him again, "I know you're awake. If you don't speak, I'll shoot."

The middle-aged man opened his eyes, his dark pupils filled with calm.

"Go ahead and shoot. Anyway, whatever you ask, I don't know," the middle-aged man said, seeing the gun muzzle, not nervous at all, and instead sat up from the ground.

Li Yu saw his reaction and did not press further.

In this situation, if they weren't afraid of death, nothing could be extracted from them. It would be better to start with the two people next to him.

So he said to the two people next to him, "You speak!"

Neither of the two people spoke.

Li Yu was a little curious. Were they all so stubborn? Not afraid of death?

The person squatting next to the middle-aged man seemed to have become less nervous after hearing the middle-aged man's words.

He said to Li Yu and his group, "So what if we tell you? You'll kill us anyway. You murderers! Hao Ge and his group were killed by you!"

Li Tie, beside him, said grumpily, "You were the ones who used loudspeakers to attract zombies back then, and you blame us for killing you?"

Li Yu gestured to Zhao Dapao beside him, asking him to take this person aside for interrogation. He believed Da Pao would have some ways to get answers.

Da Pao and Li Tie stepped forward, dragging that person towards the nearby plum forest.

Soon after, heart-wrenching screams came from that direction.

When they left, there were three people, but when they returned, there were only Li Tie and Zhao Dapao.

The middle-aged man squatting on the ground twitched slightly at the corner of his eye when he heard the sound, and the person holding his arm began to tremble all over.
