Chapter 219: horror tomb

A sharp scream made Da Zui's hand tremble, almost knocking over the candle he was holding.

Even though the candle didn't fall, wax splattered out and dripped onto Da Zui's arm.

“Ah!” Da Zui gasped.

Slanting Bangs ignored him, instead striding quickly towards the direction of the scream.

That scream just now came from one of the people who had come out with them.

Something must have gone wrong; otherwise, he wouldn't have screamed like that.

“What exactly happened? Was it a zombie, or…” Slanting Bangs’s mind immediately conjured up images from horror movies he had watched before the apocalypse, and he shook his head.

“How could that be.”

“Impossible.”

“Absolutely impossible.”

But his legs were still trembling slightly.

He held his flashlight and reached another room in just a few steps.

These three men also had flashlights, which they shone into the room.

From Slanting Bangs's perspective, he saw three people with their backs to them, staring straight ahead.

However, he couldn't see what they were looking at because the three men completely blocked his view.

Slanting Bangs breathed a sigh of relief.

No zombies, no ghosts.

“What the hell are you guys screaming about? You scared the living daylights out of me.” Slanting Bangs walked forward and approached them.

He patted one of the men on the shoulder and said, “I'm talking to you guys, why aren't you answering? What are you all looking at so intently?”

His gaze gradually shifted in the direction they were looking.

Inside the room, by the bed, there was another small grave.

It was tiny, with no tombstone, just a small mound of earth.

On it lay a photograph.

A small girl was smiling happily.

But if that were all, it wouldn't be so terrifying.

What was terrifying was that the little girl was wearing a white dress, and that white dress looked exactly like the white cloth they had seen at the house they had just been to.

It looked incredibly similar.

Moreover, there was a long rope around the little girl's neck.

Her eyes bulged, wide open and smiling, as if staring straight at them.

It was as if the little girl might walk out of the photograph.

Hiss!

Slanting Bangs’s scalp instantly tingled, and his body involuntarily began to tremble slightly.

“This goddamn…” Slanting Bangs blurted out.

The men beside him also seemed to just react.

They immediately stampeded out of the room, and by the time Slanting Bangs reacted, he saw that he was the only one left.

Coincidentally, the flashlight in his hand also ran out of battery at that moment.

The image of the little girl in the photograph he had just seen was deeply etched into Slanting Bangs's mind.

In the darkness, he felt a force approaching him.

“Holy shit!”

Slanting Bangs quickly ran out of the room. “Why the hell didn't you guys say anything when you left?!”

Slanting Bangs yelled angrily.

Two lit candles finally illuminated the space.

Everyone gathered together, still terrified by what they had just seen.

Da Zui hadn't seen it, but hearing their description, he now looked at that room with some fear.

“Awooo—”

A wolf howl came from an unknown direction.

With the apocalypse, many animals in nature were multiplying.

But many also died in the mouths of zombies.

“Da Zui, go close the door,” Slanting Bangs said.

“Forget it, let's go together,” Slanting Bangs said, seeing Da Zui's frightened expression.

Everyone walked towards the main door. The windows of this tiled house were sealed with wood, leaving only small gaps.

Da Zui closed the main door, pulled the bolt, and then found a carrying pole nearby to wedge behind the door.

“Hai Ge, that thing just now was too bizarre. Have you ever seen anyone build a grave in their yard, let alone inside a room?” one of the men asked.

“Do you think someone might be playing tricks on us?” another man said.

“That's probably impossible. Since we came in, we've seen how thick the dust is in this house. If someone were living here, there wouldn't be so much dust,” Slanting Bangs said.

“Then what the hell is going on? What do we do now?” one of the men asked.

“Forget it, we can't go out now. Outside might be even more dangerous than inside,” Slanting Bangs said.

“Hmm. Do we still need to check the remaining rooms?” another man asked.

“Let's take a look,” Slanting Bangs said, then walked towards another room. As he passed the room with the grave, he gently closed the door.

They checked another room; there were no problems. Everything was normal.

Excluding the first room Slanting Bangs and Da Zui checked, the room where they found the grave, and the room they just checked, only the last room remained.

The door to this room was locked.

But it wasn't completely locked; it was just latched.

Slanting Bangs looked at the people beside him, then took a deep breath.

He opened the room door.

The moment it opened, light flooded into the room.

What greeted their eyes was a floor covered in white bones!

The white bones reflected a pristine light under the candle's glow!

These bones were clearly human bones.

Everyone felt another shock, their faces filled with terror.

They continued to look further inside.

“Roar~”

Suddenly, a small zombie's roar caught their attention.

They looked towards the back of the room.

Beside a large cabinet, a small zombie was tied around the waist with an iron chain.

It was baring its teeth and snarling at them.

The large cabinet behind it swayed and moved forward slightly as the small zombie roared and struggled.

This small zombie seemed quite strong, but Slanting Bangs and the others roughly understood what was going on when they saw the bones on the floor.

Zombies that haven't eaten for a long time have significantly reduced mobility.

This small zombie seemed to have received a very good food supply.

Food supply?

What do zombies eat?

People.

“Holy shit!”

Everyone suddenly realized this point, and a chill immediately ran up their tailbones.

“This…”

“Isn't this zombie the little girl from the other room?” one of the men seemed to realize and suddenly exclaimed.

The others stared and observed, and indeed it was.

However, the difference was that this little girl was now wearing a red dress, not the white clothes.

Also, the marks on her neck were still very obvious.

What exactly was going on?

Everyone felt that something was very wrong.

Slanting Bangs looked at the small zombie in front of him, his heart hardening.

He had killed zombies before, so what was this small zombie?

Just kill it and get it over with, so he wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

With that thought, he slowly walked forward. He drew the long knife in his hand.

He was just about to swing the knife down.

“Bang!”

A scream came from behind him.

It was Da Zui's voice.
