There's something here.
The steps before them surprised the three.
It was pitch black inside, and nothing could be seen, but this underground passage seemed to tell the three where Mr. Wang had gone.
"Let's go down and see," Li Yu said.
As he finished speaking, he started to descend. After only two steps, Li Yu stopped and shined his flashlight inside. The passage was quite deep, and the flashlight could only illuminate about five or six meters down.
Li Yu returned to the top, looked down from above, picked up a stool, and threw it down.
Clatter, clatter~
The stool kept hitting the steps and walls below, making noise.
Dong Dong Dong~
Finally, it fell to the very bottom.
"Big Brother, what are you doing?" Li Tie asked, somewhat confused.
"This Mr. Wang is not simple. I'm worried he might have set up an ambush down there, so I'm using a stool to test it," Li Yu said seriously, looking at the dark steps below.
"Oh, okay," Li Tie responded, then picked up a few slightly larger chairs from nearby and threw them down.
Suddenly, there was an even louder sound, bang, bang, bang!
The sound of them hitting was quite loud.
Li Yu: "."
Damn it, what if he blocks the passage below later?
Forget it, Li Yu turned on his flashlight and started walking down.
On the other side, next to Li Yu, Da Pao, Yang Tianlong, and others were searching the nearby buildings to see if there were any stragglers.
The situation for Uncle San and the others was much more complicated; a few people had complex expressions, their faces showing internal conflict.
But more people had expressions of satisfaction. Two brothers from their original team, who had done nothing to provoke them, had lost their lives for no reason.
In this world, everyone must face the consequences of their actions.
Even if sometimes, they suffer undeserved misfortune.
But this world is just like that; weakness is the original sin.
There is no absolute justice; perhaps strength is justice.
Many embellished words fill many people's hearts with beautiful expectations, but in the end, they discover that reality is so cruel.
This is even more evident in the apocalypse.
Uncle San and the others were resting in the room.
Amidst the smoke, one could see everyone's tired expressions, complex expressions, expressions of relief, all different.
Uncle San sat on a stool, took a sip of water, and moistened his lips.
He looked in Li Yu's direction, his eyes complex. In fact, everything he had just faced also made him very uncomfortable, but for him, his inner self was already incredibly strong, and these emotions were easily dispelled.
On Li Yu's side, the three slowly walked down.
What greeted their eyes was a white wall, very clean. There was nothing on it.
This underground passage exceeded everyone's imagination; they hadn't expected it to be so deep.
Next to the white wall was a pair of elk antlers, and behind them was a lazy chair.
On the right wall was a landscape painting, and further back was a calligraphy piece that read: "Stay calm!"
The brushwork was powerful, full of a sense of gravitas.
"Everyone, look around and see if there are any openings or anything. That Mr. Wang isn't here; he must have escaped to another place. There must be a way to leave here," Li Yu said.
Li Tie and Li Gang both readily agreed.
The group searched this small room for a while, but still found nothing.
This Mr. Wang was too good at hiding. If they hadn't happened to find that button right under the painting earlier, they might not have even found this place below.
What they didn't expect was that now they were down here, they still had to keep searching. It was really a pain in the ass.
Everything above should have been resolved by now, leaving only this Mr. Wang.
Generally, it's said that a cunning rabbit has three burrows, and this Mr. Wang hid too well.
What Li Yu and the others didn't know was that He Park was built by Mr. Wang. Obsessed with tunnel warfare in his youth, he had a flash of inspiration while building He Park and created an underground passage to leave this place.
The three searched again.
Finally, Li Yu noticed something was off with the elk antlers. Under the light, the two antlers had slightly different colors.
One was dark and dull, the other emitted a faint glow.
Li Yu walked forward and pressed both antlers. When he pressed the second antler, the steps they had just entered on suddenly lifted upwards.
Creak, creak~
At the place where they had just entered, another set of steps appeared below.
"This, how deep did he dig, damn it!" Li Tie couldn't help but exclaim when he saw it.
"Let's go, quickly," Li Yu said, immediately walking forward after seeing the newly revealed passage.
To cut weeds, one must remove the roots; things must be done cleanly and efficiently.
From entering the room to searching and finding the opening, nearly 20 minutes had passed.
The Mr. Wang they spoke of had likely already escaped, but Li Yu still wanted to try and catch him.
This Mr. Wang was truly a talent.
Li Yu walked along the dark walls. The walls here were different from where they had just come down.
Because of the depth, the walls were somewhat damp and hadn't been plastered with cement, so occasionally, water droplets fell from the walls.
They slowly gathered, forming small puddles in the passage.
Thump, thump, thump.
Li Yu stepped through the small puddles, running inside, with Li Tie and Li Gang quickly following behind him.
This underground passage had no lights; illumination relied entirely on their flashlights.
Suddenly, Li Yu stopped in front, looking at a footprint on the ground: "It seems that Mr. Wang did indeed run this way. Hmm."
The footprint was still fresh, looking as if it had just been stepped on.
"Chase!" Li Yu said, immediately quickening his pace.
Thump, thump, thump!
The sound of their footsteps echoed in this underground long corridor.
What exceeded their imagination was that they had been walking for almost 5 minutes and still hadn't come out.
How long did he dig this tunnel, damn it.
After walking for another minute, they finally saw a faint light at the very front. This light was not very strong.
Li Yu continued walking towards it.
However, when they reached the source of this light, everyone was a bit confused.
It was a well, a dried-up well. Along the inner wall of the well, there were some well-crafted iron bars.
One could climb up step by step.
However, the top of this well seemed to be sealed by something, blocking out most of the sunlight.
Li Tie pulled on one of the iron bars with his hand. Thankfully, it was quite sturdy. The iron bars were thick and heavy.
They had a little rust, but it didn't seem to have much effect.
Li Tie looked at the well, which was about 10 meters deep from the ground to the very bottom, not bad.
So, using both hands and feet, he started climbing up directly.
